Pakistan lose three quick wickets before stumps after taking 280-run first innings lead

A full session and barely a page on PP. Pakistanis do love their test cricket! And the UAE!

You'd get 3 pages before an ODI/T-20 game even starts.

In ICC World Twenty20 Asia Region Qualifier B for women, Myanmar are 9/8 against Malaysia. This includes 3 extras. Lol.

Somee were saying the game is already over when we got 482 :))) :))) :)))

Never underestimate Australia regardless of what team they have on the pitch.

Something must not be right - wicket has enough spin & purchase for PAK spinners not to allow two of the most vulnerable top order batsmen against spin score 140@3+. This is worse than letting a team posting match winning total from 12/3.

This guy Sarfraz has absolutely no clue of putting pressure on batsmen & here in UAE, Arthur is not going to be much helpful for him.

If Sarfraz can't win the game from here, he should be sacked. Spinning options to help Yasir have been poor as well. The revoluanriary and Arthur have some questions to answer for as well.

They have started with 2 pacers after lunch! The logic is simple - spinners not getting wicket, bring pacers.

We might see Sarfraz “getting injured” by next Test.

Best captain since IK though. :salute

Pakistani bowlers led by lethal fast bowler Wahab, world class all rounder Hafeez, promising offie all rounder Bilal are being treated very unfairly by Australian openers here.

Don't worry, fairness will be done when Aussies plays the world class Bangali test side.

BTW, no one consider Wahab and Hafeez world class, infact they have made come back in test team after years.Thats another thing they might end up doing great in UAE.

Khawaja and Finch are having to restart and Sarfraz allows them to settle in by bowling pace!!!!!

And this guy was called a great tactican by his fans :)))

He has managed to lose 2 Tests against SRL in UAE - should have been sacked after that. Now batting as no 10 & never was a decent WK. His FAN BASE jumps in sky whenever he takes few regulations, & brings back Kamran when he misses regulations.

If player like Khawaja can score against our bowlers mean when Smith/Warner returns we will loose test by innings.
Our bowling has serious issue.

To be honest the batsmen haven't been able to score since they came out...

Exactly. They also jump in the sky when he makes a bowling change :)) .

Sarfraz was always ordinary, ppl shouldn't be surprised to see team do poorly under him.On top his keeping is getting poorer, considering he can't bat much, dont see a point in sticking with him atall.

1-2 wickets and we are right in the game, more wickets will come.

Our bowling has serious issue.

Your Captain has serious issue - ball was doing enough even on 1st day afternoon to tighten screw & make these two feel uncomfortable. In 2nd afternoon 15 min before stumps, Finch went for a skyer against Yasir when he was kept tied for just couple of overs - same batsman survived a full session at <45 SR and only 26 of 62 from boundaries.

Same bowlers under Misbah, AUS could have been 3 down by now with Warner & Smith in the lineup, add Clarke as well.

Finch gone - few tight overs & he has managed to get out against a pacer here, giving catch.

Finally a wicket. 2 lefties at the crease, surely genius tactican will bring on at least 1 of the off spinners.

Need to bring both offies and stop singles - Khwaza won’t resist long.

Misbah's ability to control the game with spin was vastly under appreciated! Especially in conditions like the UAE . .

He made Saeed Ajmal and Yasir shah into better bowlers . .

His understanding of angles, fields, plans, seeing weaknesses in batsman . . when to slow the game down, when to quicken it up . .

Sarfaraz has no clue on how to captain spinners . .

Err because the makers themselves have admitted there is an error limit and that error can be either ways? Think of the ball as a wave occupying a position from +5mm to -5mm from the center position of the actual graphic shown on the scene. So if the ball is shown hitting less than 50%, because of the error limit, it can mean both things. If the error is +5mm, it can mean the ball is hitting right in the middle of the stump. If the error is -5mm it can mean ball is missing the stump completely. So in that case which value should we follow for the error, +5mm or -5mm? Well that is when umpire's call is used to decide

I dont think you understand.

I have no issues with DRS being inaccurate to the "nth" percent.

The only issue I have is when a similar ball bowled can cause a batsmen to be adjudged OUT or NOT OUT based on umpire's preference.

There is a serious issue when DRS cannot tell if the batsmen is out or not and neither can the umpire.

There is so much to like about Mohammad Abbas . .

UAE is a graveyard for the best of fast bowlers . . but its an absolute nightmare for someone like Abbas who bowls at 130 km/h and relies on swing and seam . .

Yet, he was the best fast bowler for us against SL in UAE . . he is again out bowling wahab . . he has found a way! he knows his strengths and he sticks to them . . and seems, works very hard too!

Good on him and I hope he continues to succeed!

2 lefties at the crease and still no off spinner brought on!!!!!!! What is going on?

How on earth Khawaja keep scoring is beyond my imagination? Is our bowling that bad?

Good post.
He can reverse too.

Sadaf would have been successful too.

Sarfraz is totally clueless, probably wants wahab to breakdown in this match.

First hint of lack of form, these honest, hardworking guys will have their career ended unlike other "talents".

Pak are amongst them. Gotta exploit weak middle order and bundle out Aus for max 350.

Totally miffed by captaincy in this test. Didn't follow the Sri Lanka series at all, but this is absolutely trash captaincy of the highest order.

I don't want to go to South Africa with this captain :(

Nice bowling..pitch has started to turn now should be easy for Pakistan despite sarfaraz captaincy

AUS won't double this score if Sarfraz can tighten screw with spinners, recent Aussies are not good at playing out time.

Not much turn for Yasir and ordinary bowling till now.
Also had a poor domestic season recently with only 1 wicket in 4 innings.

Impressive stuff from Bilal. Even though against Australia. But he's a strong lad.

Good bounce for Bilal, due to his height.

If he can improve his batting, can be a good AR for Pakistan.

Can be tried even in LOIs, much better than Nawaz and Imad

One more genuine finger sinner & AUS won't have made PAK bat twice here. I have never seen such a combination that a team plays leggis much better than finger spinners, may be IND also.

It's the novelty factor. Yasir has been played and watched a lot of times by batsmen around the world. Bilal on the other hand is a newcomer. Yasir hasn't bowled badly, it's just that Australia have played him well. They have no clue against Bilal though.

More than pitch turning i think its poor batting by Aussies more due to lack of confidence and nervousness.

Khawaja gout out on a nothing shot. Marsh's was poor too.

Is Bilal's action okay? I remember he was called for chucking a few years ago

Bilal is the rare sort of spinner who would probably be useful in Australia, with his height and topspin

Is Bilal's action okay? I remember he was called for chucking a few years ago

Was cleared under the current testing methods first go so don't think there's any dramas there. I think it's just the flick of the wrist at the end that gives the illusion of a bent arm

Now the right handers start. Bilal hasn't looked threatening to the right handers. We might see a partnership here.

Aussie batting line up now looks pretty thin. Should run through them here, and get a healthy lead.

Steve Smith looks a huge miss.
