Pakistan reach 109/0 at stumps on Day 4 at Chattogram needing another 93 runs to win the First Test

Just tuned in. Good effort by Afridi, not easy on such wickets.
Will be a tricky chase against taijul and mehidy but i'd back pak to do it.
 
Shafique has played a good sweep shot for shot. It is such an important shot against spin
 
Pak did well to pull it back in the end.
Tempramentally Shafique looks very solid. Like his game no tentative shots

BD would have been 3 down already. That's the difference between the two teams.

Apart FROM Sajid each one have had many good to great test matches this year. At the beginning g of the match you and some others were also calling Abid Ali, Abdullah, Hasan Ali and Shaheen rubbish. That is almost team. So if Pak win this with so many rubbish players away from home then you need to praise then a bit.
 
That's what I want. Positive batting instead of useless tuktuking whole day

I didn't say Afridi, Hasan is rubbish. Afridi loose his patience very quick and Hasan leaks too many runs. Non consistent. Azhar is done and need to be replace. Abid somehow proved me wrong. Abdullah was batting very negative in the first innings.
 
When the lead was around 150-160 for the loss of 5 wickets, other sides would have siezed the initiative and went for the throat of the opposition. Bangladesh capitulated in the next 50 runs instead.

That is what is stopping Bangladesh from graduating to the next level in cricket. Identifying the moments where you need to put the foot down and dictate the proceedings, making the opposition playing by your rules rather than letting the game drift.

Well despite all their weaknesses they delivered when needed and do quite often. Yes Azhar Ali should retire apart from him and Sajid Ali all players are as good as there are in Pakistan. Contrary to your opinion as a team Pakistan team is a lot better than Bangladesh team even if Shakib was present in their team.
 
Linton Das and Tajul, atleast in first inning, have been good for Bangladesh. Overall Bangladesh done OK to compete in the match and even take a lead.
 
Bangladesh have done very well so far. There is still room for a collapse but I think the draw is likely favourite here.
 
Are batsmen need to keep being positive and look for runs. worry is if Azhar comes in and bats like a snail and allows the spinners to settle.
 
wow how good is Shafique. What a find by Misbah!

The last time Pakistan had a 50 partnership in both the innings of a test match was back in 2014.
 
I am happy and sad at the same time. Happy because Pakistan is playing well and might win the match. Sad because India is also playing well and they might also win the match.

Misbah has give Pakistan quite a few good players, pity as a nation we want our players to be world class without giving them ample opportunities.
 
Pakistan Should try and get required runs down to around 70 or 80. Never know Pakistan on day 5 chasing. As we know
 
Everyone loves to bash Abid Ali

But he is currently what stands between a major embarrassment at the hands of Bangladesh for Pakistan
 
If Shaheen gets hit for four down the leg side, that's brilliant from batsman and a good reply. If Abdullah shafique hits that same shot, that is very bad delivery from bowler, no praise for Abdullah.

If anything Shafique's find should be credited to Babar. He is the one who is promoting him in the team at the moment

We won't get those in because of light. Need to bat positively and get this taken below 50 by close.
That would be it if we are only one down.
If we still need 80 or 90 and are 2 down, it's still dodgy for me

I still don't get it that why Bangladesh cricket has not improved all these years. Such a huge fan base and there is no apparent world class talent.

Apart from there purple patch under Mashrafee Murtaza, there has been no good performances from the team.

The team lacks coordination and there seems to be no bonding among the guys. There is no plan and they have been too defensive in their approach.

What is the actual reason of this fall? Is it internal politics or lack of good domestic structure?

But if Pakistan do win, I think the MOTM should be Shaheen because it’s his 5fer that has set up this victory (InshaAllah)

No way.

When Pakistan win the MOTM should be Abid. Without him we would have definitely lost.
 
Hit a 6 to get to his debut 50.....Hits another six to get to his second 50....not sure if that is a world record
 
Shafique and Saud Shaqeel need to be regulars in the ODI side

Some quality batsmen coming though now for Pakistan after ages!
 
Very good and happy to see Imam tapping Abdullah Shafique's head there to show his appreciation
 
Select Nawaz for Nauman and Naseem for Faheem for 2nd test.Nawaz can bat.He used to open.Extra pace of Naseem will trouble Bangla batsmen.
