Pakistan reach 80/2 at Stumps on Day 4 in chase of a target of 343 to win the 1st Test

Poor team selection for Pakistan with only 4 bowlers, especially when 3 are debutants. Pakistan needed an all rounder instead of extra batsman.
 
Ali is not trundler by any means. I would like to see him on a supporting pitch
 
Crawley cannot score runs against any other opposition to save his life, and he is averaging 162 against Pakistan since debut :))
 
Skill level of English batters is just too high vs our batters.
 
How many times we have seen Pak bowler getting injured during the match? This team has serious fitness issues.
 
Pakistan back in to this game . If they take 3 wickets quickly ..thn england lead will not cross 300
 
England should win this match. All they have to do to give 400+ target +10 overs for today. Our team will loose 2-3 wickets under pressure and tomorrow England can get rest of the wickets. Such a pathetic team with Lool captain and good for nothing wanna be head coach.
 
Babar is going to pay further with his nepotistic selection of Zahid if he doesn’t do well this innings.

Unless Pakistan batsmen suddenly forget how to bat, I don’t see England getting ten wickets in 75 overs.
 
Look, Pak is certainly not going to take wkts with these weak bowlers. But can only hope Eng batters make few mistakes and get out in eagerness to score

Please don't hype up useless wkts taken by Ali and Naseem.

They are same like the Jacks wkts, batter was bored out or excited to smash lollipops so got out.

Can only give them credit for not breaking down in these conditions but zero skillset involved in all their wkts

This series is vital for him to extend his career, completely understandable.

Muhammad Ali is very good, bowls a hard length and will definitely make the ball move on helpful wickets.
 
Again the problem for Pakistan is England’s scoring rate. Their bowlers and captain cannot seem to get this under control at all.

England have 111 runs off a grand total of 15 overs. That is 7 runs being leaked like a sieve by Pakistan, every over!

If England bats for 30 more overs, or even just another 25 at such a rate then arguably this game is sealed shut.

From there if you’re a Pakistan batsman it’s just a painful scrap for survival on the last day.

You can put up the most skillful bowlers on this wicket and they will be humbled. There is a reason the trio of Hazlewood, Starc and Cummins could only manage four wickets on this ground, or are they useless too? :))

How is it nepotistic,he was picked in squad long time ago on back of good performances in domestic, so deserved a chance to play ahead of Abrar, who has just been added to squad. Mahmood on second day bowled better and has bowling even better now against good players of spin. Too early to call him completely rubbish or acceptable

It’s important England declares at the right time to force a result here, I don’t see this England bowling attack getting ten Pakistani wickets in 75 overs.

If anything the pitch looks even better for batting for now.

First, they quote babar as selfish and select friends only. But cant understand how saud shakeel and zahid are friends to babar as they are from different region as well as never player cricket with babar but still selected. Moh wasim is doing good job to set some criteria for selection
 
Zahid Mahmood has the bad habit of one bad delivery every over. It’s a given and at international level such habits will be exposed.
 
How come we don’t even have a part-timer in this team? Naseem might end up injured too after this innings too.
 
How on earth this guy made it to TEST team. Howwww???? Sahid and even nauman were way better than this guy. I d say even nawaz and shadab ll bowl way better than him. Babar should bowl himself instead of this guy.

Ben Stokes would be an army general. I wouldn't trust Babar with the dishes
 
They are milking zahid for 8 an over babar needs to stop with giving opportunity to him and rather think about Pak and this match now. Bowl agha and himself and use ali and naseem in shirt spells of 4 overs in between.
Zahid is utter useless
 
Good 50 by Root. Pakistan fielding better this inning but England continue to score briskly.
 
Pakistani pacers haven't peppered the English players with short balls consistently. Too much full predictable stuff. No problem for quality players

Their part timers succeeded because we didn't attack them. Our part timers gave 6 boundaries in an over. Can't blame Babar here.

Might aswell, we will be two bowlers down by the end of this Test if Babar doesn’t come to his senses and uses part timers a bit more.

Babar Azam as captain will keep doing the same thing again and again even if it's not working. Our bowlers will keep sticking to the same line length field even if nothing is working. There is no think tank out there at all.
 
Babar has rubbish bowlers like Naseem, Rauf, Zahid, Salman & Ali to work with. There is not much he can do.
 
Naseem might not recover from this mauling shouid stick to white ball cricket. Pakistan will not win a test match in this series they will scared to set a total. This England team can chase 400 in a day

Mahmood… the guy who averages 37 with the ball in domestic cricket. The guy who was benched in favor of Abrar in the domestic circuit for the FC season by his own team. That same Mahmood? Just want to make sure we’re talking about the same person here.

Not really, he is a pathetic captain. You give these resources to Dhoni and he can make better use of them.
 
The whole pcb is a mess.

Chief selector selected mohammad waseem and haris rauf for tests who have hardly played aby FC cricket , the team management chose to not play the red hot inform spinner abrar ahmed. The captain is the worst ,who doesnt know how to use his bowlers and how to set field. Speaking no english or poor english is a non issue but poor captaincy pointing towards a low iq is a problem.
