What is current status ?


Are we going into 1st Test or 2nd ?

Are contracts getting renenewd ? If yes, will it be for whole tour or for Test series only ?

Everything stays the same we are just replaying the first test basically, and we have the luxury to changing contracts if we feel necessary.

This match is not atm we are planning on replaying the first match.

The reason I selected a Pace AR is because we were using to high contract spinners and a batting AR that was a spinner.

If we are replaying with same contracts, I would have preffered SC batsman to bat at 6 and SC bowler to bat at 8. Looks a better strategy.

I think 2 SC ( 1 bat & 1 bowl) batting partnership can be extremely lethal.
 
I am thinking pitches also should not have fixed attributes. It should be selected by the home team. I will update the rules thread soon.

Yes, player types can also be changed as we are starting afresh. But no more role changes will be allowed in between formats for now.

Contracts are fine . Are we going to replay the first test ? Will it be a 2 or 3 match test series ?
 
I am not comfortable with a SC bowler. We saw what happened with Bowl SCs of both teams in that warm up match.

One SC as a Bat
2nd SC can be a Bowling AR (LF/RF)
3rd SC can be a Pure AR (ROS)
And we can replace without compromising balance.

C & D for pure pace bowlers and they bat at #10,11.

I am still learning though.
 
OP of the rules/discussion thread is now updated with the following info:

1 CONTRACT SWAP AND 2 PLAYER TYPE CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE DONE AFTER THE TEST SERIES. This will help teams to plan better for the shorter formats.

Please note that no player type change or contract swap will be allowed in the window between the ODIs and T20s as both these formats are collectively considered as LOIs.

Because the you did not get a bowl in the first test match because there was a database error so jeetu decided we restart the series. Since we were going to restart the first test match we decided to do everything over again. We have a new contract system and new contracts were distributed.

So just consider the first match a Warm Up Game the actually series starts now. Playing XI's have been announced games should begin shortly as well.

I think its not a good idea to have a playing XI where batting order is arranged skill wise.

3 of top 5 should be D & C contracts where at least 1 is not a batsman primarily.

For 2nd match, we should choose DRY pitch. Replace our bowling SC and boost 1 Pacer and 1 Spin AR.

Not too many FM or MF.
I think its not an ideal attack to exploit swinging conditions if we have an attack of only express fast. Needed medium fast bowlers.

I would be tempted to go with the same 11, maybe slide in another batsman or all rounder

I feel it is a good team however I feel we should boost a batsman? Like HR from A to B?

Da Future Knick

Boost either Hadi/Engro or Ellipsism.

You already have two batters on higher contracts. You don't need Abdul at the expense of weakening the bowling. Batters win you LOIs, bowlers win you tests.

leggie will be expensive.
I am also in favour of playing 2 SC bowlers. 1 regular and second as a boost. SC bowlers are very economical.

I was thinking of that too, but I feel our batting would become a bit weak if we sacrificed Abdul.
[MENTION=128087]last_knight[/MENTION] what do you think should we strengthen the bowling with 2 SC's or go with the balance of 1/1. I feel both way our team would be quite strong.

Also I would be including [MENTION=139682]LastManstanding[/MENTION] in our squad (on a D contract) for the LOIs, because he has shown interest and our squad is short of players too.

Let is remain then. One contract swap and two player type changes.

A contract swap would mean swapping of contracts between two players. For example, currently Greenstorm is on the AA contract while last_knight is on the D contract, so now you can swap these two contracts so that last_knight goes to AA and Greenstorm gets the D.

Player type changes are self explanatory. You can change a batsman to a bowler or a bowler to an allrounder etc etc.

I am not setting a deadline as yet but the quicker you get it done, the sooner we can begin the ODIs.

but it is still important to use specialist players
 
In LOI, I think we need to add another batsman in the playing 11. We should go something like
2 fast bowlers, 1 full time spinner, bowling AR and 2 batting AR.

Rest is up to you Captain!

So how do you think we should change? I am thinking of changing DFK to Fast Medium instead of Fast, any other suggestions?
