haha yasir shah with a wicket that will shut up the resident pp undercover indian troll known as maimoona.

This is the thing with leg spinners they can even take wickets with their lose balls

e-g Yasir getting out smith and Smith getting out misbah

Scores big and supports a comparatively weaker batting lineup and he is exceptional against spin from a technical point of view.
How many other batsmen around the world have been schooled by Babar and Jadeja?

Scoring big means little when it's infrequent compared to better players.

Convict Marsh's domestic batting stats don't look that impressing.

lol this hack Mitch is gonna be a walking wicket for our spin trio..:D

The Jadeja delivery that castled him was no different to Warne's ball of the century and a few dismissals don't hold much water. Warner an Smith have improved recently only, he has been carrying Australia on his back for a long time.

people dissing a newbie raw pakistan bowling attack they still managed to get 4 wickets and restrict aussies to around 2.9 an over.

He's much better than his stats suggests.

He was selected very early on potential and continued getting games because WA were bat and because he showed glimpses though had little consistency and failed to go with his starts (like many really young but talented players).

Over the last year he has turned that around but he has never really been tested by spin before so I doubt he'll do it here. Still in the young but improving stage

Reckon Sanga, AB, Amla or Pujara would be schooled by the likes of Babar or Jadeja? This talk of Clarke being one of the best players of spin is all hot air, he's struggled in spin friendly conditions of late (India and now here, for someone to be considered the best in something, don't you think they have to actually perform to back up that claim?). A good player of spin, but the best or near it? Nope.

Right thanks.

A blasphemous thing to say on Pakpassion.

Amla got schooled by Younis Khan. :yk

Pujara got schooled by Moeen Ali of all

Azhar Ali got out sanga

is the pitch just really flat right now or our spinners just can't spin the ball even if their life depended on it?

Clarke's back has been extremely problematic in the last 2 years or so. I wouldn't take those Jadeja dismissals too seriously.

Yasir needs to bowl slower and the problem with Babar is that he loops the ball like Ashwin. Unless it is a rank turner, he won't get much turn. He is a pure finger spinner.

On the rank turners that India dished out for Australia in 2013, he'd be deadly.

Fair enough, but to say Clarke is in the top 2-3 players of spin in the world when he has little to suggest it is pure nonsense. It completely disregards the accomplishments of other players who have actually performed against spin.

He did actually and the field was set up perfectly as well.

Moral of the story: a few dismissals in a large sample size has no relevance.
I remember the dismissal.

Amla dropped his guard and played a loose shot, he was never worked over by YK.

Worked over - have the batsmen in dire straights, playing and missing and close shouts before dismissing him

He may not have great stats but he's very talented specially with the bat...

Performed brilliantly against Lahore lions on a turning pitch

but he is good when attacking.I doubt he can stay that long tuk tukking which is the need of the hour.

Warner is so impressive these days. I had him pegged as a ODI basher who managed to slog a worn-out England attack in the last Ashes, but he's getting runs under pressure everywhere now. He's a proper test opener.

The off-side field was packed and Younis was bowling wide of the off stump enticing Amla into going for it and he did. This is a setup in my opinion.

I think we need to make sure that we get a good lead here on 1st inns if possible, Also i think batting in 2nd inns will be harder on this surface so we need to be positive when we come to bat again so we can look to set Aussies good total in final inns.

I agree i thought he was just a T20 and ODI specalist but the Ashes and the series v S.A have shown he can adapt his game to tests and still be a sucsess.

There's more to just bowling to a fieldset to working someone over.

He's actually not very good in ODI. It all started really when he punched Joe Root. We should get a few more players to punch Joe Root.

And who are these great players of spin today? Apart from AB and Sanga who have performed against most spinners? Amla has struggled against Ajmal and even Jayawardene has looked uncomfortable against him. Clarke may not currently be as good as AB and Sanga and YK but he's better than everybody else.

Bad session for us and bad innings if you take out Warner. Pakistan were able to get a lot of batters contributing.

I'd have AB, Sanga, Amla, YK and Pujara ahead of him.

4 for 94 in 35 overs

what a session Pakistan had. Just what doctor ordered.

So far Batting = Warner and bowling = Johnson for Australia. Very bad session and it might even get worse.

That wicket should give yasir some confidence and the session should give alot of confidence to pakistan which we really needed.

Don't forget Younis isn't even a part timer. Getting worked out by someone like him is far worse than getting out to Babar/Jadeja. :shaq

Clarke is so underrated here it is sick.

Underrated with an average of 62 at home and 43 away? Doesn't even average 50+ anywhere outside Australia.

But then he has 4 tests coming up against us, will become a Bradman once again :(
