Pakistan v Australia | 2nd ODI | 31 March, 2022 | Lahore | Australia innings

Can’t wait for this inns to end so we can get back to the reality of watching Pakistan doing their blockathon.
 
So refreshing to see aggressive batting. The batters are out there to score, not to survive.
 
Opening in LOI'S is the easiest and toughest in tests. Look at aussie batsmen lofting our bowlers with the field up in PP.
 
Hasan Ali peaked at the CL but his career is probably done now.

If Afridi carries on believing his own hype, he will be another hassan ali

There has to be a different approach from Imam and Fakhar today. Babar can play the consolidator role but you cant have all batsmen doing the same thing especially while chasing a big total
 
Smashed! Head picks up from where he left in the last ODIs...already accelerating within 10 overs....we wait till till the 25th over and even then have 2 thoughts about whether to put the foot down on the pedal
 
Cant wait to watch imam and babar blocking and eating up dot balls in PP later.
 
Head and McDermott know nothing about batting. Why are they going at over 6rpo after a wicket fell in first over?? Theu should have batted at 4rpo for next 20 overs at least
 
Despite the early wicket Australia still on course for a 300+ total. So much for winning the toss.
 
The batting order is top heavy, after number 5 there is not much batting to come. Just need to pick up a couple of wickets
 
Aus 72 runs in PP game one, 65 in game 2

Watch our snails get about 40 later on.

The difference between a top team like Australia and a third-rate team like Pakistan is clear - Aussies always play attacking cricket and they never get bogged down or have mental fades.
 
We score a hundred in 25 overs Australia does it in 15 that’s how far behind we are in odi cricket than them
 
Wasim jnr doesnt deserve to be in team andso doesnt zahid Mahmood. Cant wait for shadab to come back. Saud shakil is another hack.

Pakistan is worst at 50 overs. It's harder than T20 you have to sustain accuracy when bowling. And when batting you have to be able to sustain attacking shot from a longer period. In Test cricket you can hide behind tuk tuk when batting but that won't make you a good side. If you have aspirations to be a good attacking Test team you have to be good at 50 overs cricket first.
 
Zahid Mahmood 34 yr old list A average of 36. On what basis was he picked in the team. Arent there any other youngsters out there from a population of 225 million .
 
If Pakistan lose this series 3-0, they will be just 5 points ahead of Zimbabwe on WSL having played same number of games. They also lost to a very weak England team if I remember correctly.

Going by this ODI form, Pakistan may well find themselves playing the Qualifier.
 
As soon as I come back after a few mins, I see the ball sailing over the ropes.
 
I am so surprised we win two consec tosses and we bowl.. there was grip for spinners in second innings last time.

Yeah this is arguably one of the worst one day pak teams I have ever seen.

Don't rate babar as captain. Needs to be removed

Exactly thats what I said when pointing out Riz isnt as effective in this format due to shorter batting in T20 allowing bigger margin for risk and hiding behind tuk tuk going along 2 rpo in tests.

Yes 50 over skills are more transferable to Test cricket.

spinners getting taken to the cleaners, fast bowlers bowling rubbish so far, lots of criticism for the batsmen but the bowlers are equally if not more to blame for paks current odi form
 
So who is playing the Anchor imam role here for Aussies head or mcdermott? ;)
 
Why are these batsmen going for huge sixes over after over, when they are above 6 RR, they should nudge it around for singles. Like Pakistan.

Thanks bro, much appreciated. Actually it was in a hotel in south africa during a world cup T20 of 2007 that he gave this to my cousin who was there on an office trip. My cousin said he was so humble and nice guy. He still has the pak training jersey and treasures it amongst other such cricketing souveniers he has.
 
Absolute demolition. This is the result of having such an inexperienced bowling line up plus poor captaincy.

Mind boggling strategy by the PCB all round starting from the team selection to toss decision and the utterly shambolic bowling.

This is something Pak would never do, Shaheen comes on and smashed for 6 first ball, our batsmen would show "respect" to the returning bowler and probably try and play him out.
 
I hope people see this and realize how Babar and Imam messed up the chase the other night, especially when they saw it getting hard for Australia to get runs as the innings progressed.

Imam might have scored the century but if you ask Australia they will happily give away the same century again today, if it meant the asking rate is nearly ten and you are still now at run a ball.

Babar is usually not that bad but it's habitual of Imam at this point.
