Unfortunately Wasim has a tendency to leak runs like many Pakistani bowlers. I would like to see them go with 3 proper quick bowlers once Nawaz & Shadab are healthy and on the team.
 
Wasim gets 2 edges from Carey but unfortunately none of them go to the slip fielder.
 
Why not try Dahani? Wasim needs some work on his wrist position. Change it up a bit. Too much predictable with slanted seaM
 
Another one bites the dust...McDermott this time, Jnr the bowler and Chacha the catcher
 
Wasim gets a big wicket and it's going to be extremely tough for Australia now.

This is still a pretty batting friendly wicket. The bowling has just been superb so far...

Yeah but was hoping for full duration match to help with the first roza....this one looks like it will not go the distance...

They need moujiza now. Wicket has absolutely nothing. Waseem bowled a good bowl. Banged it in and it was woeful shot. Closing the bat early to try to steal a single. Good captaincy tbh by babar to make sure batters fight hard for runs
 
Wasim needs to show more aggression towards the batsmen. If the batter hits the ball straight to you, you should threaten them with throwing the ball at the stumps. He is too meek. Offers very little batting skill so should be replaced with an out and out bowler (Dahani)

Need to try and run through Aussie lower order now.
 
It would be great if babar sets aggressive. He can afford to bleed 20 quick runs now but gotta seize the initiative. Bring in fielders. Bring in catchers. Go for the kill. Situation demands aggression. There's nothtin the wicket

Pakistan will make sure its fullish match. Even if Austrlia are likely to score only about 175.
 
Both first change bowlers got crucial wickets of Stonis and McDemrott so can't really complain...they doing their job

He's done a good job today....field is still pretty aggressive with couple of catchers on offside and a slip.

Indeed, but in Wasims first overs, he was taken to the cleaners. The only reason he is looking better now is because of scoreboard pressure and bowling to the lower order.
 
Even if Australia play out of their skins from here on they will only get around 280 max.

That should be a comfortable chase on this wicket for Pakistan.

Still a long way to go but Pak should ideally get them under 250.
 
Good to see the Aussies still awarding scholarships to deserving students even when they in trouble...
 
Zahid needs replacing. Gets smashed for a boundary every over. Even when Aussies are 5 down. Sooner we get Shadab back, the better.
 
See how the part timers that are Chacha and Happy Heart fare against the Aussie lower order...

From what I've seen, he takes one over to find his radar which is what he has done again this match...can't really complain about his bowling so far...
 
Australia were in similar score range back in that epic 2003 world cup encounter.
Could Green be the new Symonds.

As oppose to Pakistan Australia have a good lower batting, so thesetqo are well capable of getting them into competitive score, as long as their bowlers cause Pakistani collapse at tge top.
 
Haris misfield. choked under pressure... Carey would've been a goner!
 
Alex Carey and cameron green have been wonderful for Australia in test series and here they are doing just fine.
They still can score 250 or even more.

Nah. One wicket and we're into the tail. Should get them under 200 but we need that one breakthrough...
 
Asif Ali, Iftikhar are the most undederving players in this current squad, they been given so many chamces and keep failing, and Zahid lloks like to be another failure.

Why was grandpa Iftikhar bowled when you already have them 5 down. Is this is benefit year or something that we have to “give him a chance” in every game
 
You double the score after 30 overs so that brings them close to 300...but that is if you keep the wickets
 
So Iftikhar is bowling cos of over rate? Bowl them out early there is no over rate problem. Honestly no one in the think tank uses their brain

5th bowler quota...they have to bowl him as they need to fill in those 10 overs.

If you already have them 5 down, just get the main bowlers on and you’ll finish them off before 40 overs. But chacha, nana, grandpa has to get some overs .


Like when you need invite an Uncle to play a match with your team. You have to give uncle a bowl or a bat, otherwise he might get upset.

And like any uncle - he’s fluked a wicket too
 
Btw I know one should not look in the past but imagining what could have been if we had played Wasim Jnr instead of Hassan Ali in the semi final against the Aussies in the T20 World cup...has bowled really well agains the Aussies
 
No Hassan Ali and we looking top tier...once Shadab comes and replaces Zahid, even better....

Even Nawaz would have been enough as hw was in good form bowling and even batting. Tbh anyone would had been better than Hasan.

We scored only 71 in first 10 overs. Thats where the match was lost. It was best batting wicket that day and 190 was par score.
