Warne,"Australia would take 300"

If pakistan were in the same situation, i would be happey with 240 and would want to bowl in the evening for about 15 overs

Gul bowled a fantastic over to Clarke before Tea....In that over,he pitched the ball up and really had Clarke in some trouble...The swing is definitely there,I dont know why he is afraid to bowl a fuller length....His role is to take wickets not to contain the batsmen..!

gullah is bowling short since morning.. this is the time to take wickets yar.. not containing... get ur yorkers going .. for 5 over burst ..

Australia going nowhere at the moment; this is good Test cricket.

gullah bowling a bit short ere....cmon gullah

Just seem to lack the effort he puts in T20. You gotta question his commitment to the long format.

2nd maiden in a row.
I think it's going to be 3.

Paine is an awkward keeper batsman. He can't really make runs so well.

I'd honestly forgotten how much I missed Test cricket.

This is so, so good to watch.

C'mon Gulla!!! Pitch it up, you'll get reverse swing now. Yorker time!! :younis

Danish bowling well after a first few expensive overs.

'Optimum speed for a legspinner' - maybe we should show them a few clips of Afridi's 130kph deliveries :afridi

Thats what he needs to do bowl full and straight

He scored a wonderful hundred against England last yeat, he can bat well once he gets going

Test cricket can be so good without the flat pancake wickets. If the ICC really want Tests to survive then they should encourage the sort of wicket that we're seeing today.Though I guess it does depend on the weather.

We are letting these guys get their eye in.
Field needs to be more attacking.

field is in... and attack ... bowling shud be attack ... just look the way gul is bowling :P

Unless Australia get a few boundaries or chip easy singles (both of them which they are not getting at the moment) to relieve the pressure, they're not going to go anywhere. They're just delaying the inevitable I reckon. :afridi

Kaneria needs to bowl a bit slower....He's got to vary the pace a bit

Bowling at a monotonus pace and Paine is looking confident now against him..

Gul is just letting the batsmen leave the delivery.
He needs to take more of a risk as bowler.

Test cricket is not just scoring ...it is also to frustrate the bowlers n fielder n then utilize this frustration in next 10 set of overs ....i love test cricket ......

Good finally pitches it up. But that was going down leg.

Well bowled, Good.

Would have preferred to bowl them out by the end of the day, but this is okay too :)

If Ian Gould was crap, he would have given that.

But he isnt - so what is the explanation for his shocker today??????

Direct hit by the man with nice hair.
I like the blonde highlights, in as formal a setting as Lords (North London)

Endearing :)

Isn't that out? I feel like hiring a hitman to kill Gould now.

Okay - it isn't out, but I still feel like hiring a hitman to kill him. I know he gave us Clarke but Katich's innings hurt, he was out when in single figures.

We should not give them chance to come back in the match

Aamer fantasizing about Rock Band later in the evening :yk

Tbh,Gould isnt that bad an umpire..I have watched most of his matches quite closely & he is spot on most of the times...

Will have to persist with this pair for a while and hope they pick up a wicket

Asif and Aamer are just too tired

nice kaneria....dint carry......strong come back after an ordinary first spell

Paine is slowly getting set in, no nervous pushes or anything of that like in the past few deliveries.

Hussey hits a maximum, a replica of the shot he played against Ajmal in the T20 World Cup semi.

Continues his aggression with a four. :tormentor
