Umar Akmals favorit cricket is Kamran Akmal :)))

Read his PP interview, it's the truth. When I did the interview with him you can sense the genuine love and respect he had for Kamran.

Kamran is the reason he started playing cricket!

First thing came to mind after watching Akmal bat for just 1 over is: AFRIDI

He needs to cool down as he wants to hit every single delivery out of the stadium.

Shehzad looks solid though.

Ugly stuff from Akmal.

Wow, even Aussies u19's are pr!cks.

And Akmal is out after hitting 2 boundaries.

I am not impressed at all, i htought he would be better than this because has scored heavily in domestic cricket and played some long innings.
I knew he plays quick but this was just pure slogging, i hope he is not another AFRIDI in making.

Oh man oh man. Umar Akmals technique is horrendous

At least Umar plays his shots along the ground rather than in the air, looks like an FTB tho. Needs a lot of work if he's going to make it into the senior team.

Is there a link for this anywhere?

For some reason nobody in Pakistan is showing it!

Can't really blame him for slogging in this game.

We are only chasing 130.....so slogging wasn't actually a bad idea. An early wicket is not the end of the world and if he had hung around for 3 or 4 overs then it would have been game over. It was probably the game plan for him to go out and look for boundaries. The real test would be to see him when we are batting first or chasing a score of 200+.

You can't really judge him on this innings.

playing his shots ? hahahahahah

the stepped away form his stumps every single delivery to the point that all his 3 stumps were visible. for an opening batsman that is horrendous.

score update, please? I am just about to head out for some cricket playing so it would be nice.

I agree....and I think, he was instructed to do this. There was NO way he could do it on his own!

He shuffles across too much and looks very ugly while slogging. I hope he improves his temprament and still think he may have future because you don't score 800+ runs in domestic with this kind of batting.

That was hilarious, he must have a better technique than what we saw today. No way he's going to get 800 runs and score 248 if he plays like that all the time.

I got the feeling he was sent out there and told to smack the stitches out of the ball and he went and did it. Not a bad ploy if he'd got 30 runs at 20 balls.

Umer Amin looks solid too, always seems to get bat to ball safely whatever the ball is doing!

Mir caught behind now

Pakistan 32/3 and we are in a bit of trouble

We are in a bit of trouble now.

Need a 40 run partnership just to kill the game off. Come on boys....no need to rush. Have plenty of time.

Typical how today of all days my internet starts playing up. Wont let me listen to live commentary or watch the link.

Yeah, Ali Asad is in good form. And we still got Shan Masood, Usman Salahuddin, and Imad Wasim.

no ball hit for 4

free hit coming up....vital runs

At the moment we are running away with this game.

60 for 3 and 70 runs required with 7 wickets in hand.

Gr... The commentator scared the crap out of me! 60/3

Shehzad favours leg side a bit too much but he is good at whatever he does and i am sure he can work on his game, he has lot of time. He has been really impressive with his timing and temprament.

Ali Asad is also looking good, struggles against short ball (according to commentators) but he is doing well.

Dont worry Hash, we'll find some highlights on youtube for all you Pak PPers who missed this game :21:

Ali Asad looks a solid bat too but i havent seen him play much on the offside.

I take that back he's just played about 3 shots in a row towards the off side

game, set and match

107 for 3 now. Only an old traditional Pakistan batting collapse can save Australia now, and that aint going to happen.

Who is the Aussie leggie? :11: We need one real bad

Very flat and doesn't turn it much. His skimmers would be decent for the one day game but I see him struggling in the longer format.

And before you counter with the Kumble argument of not turning much, Kumble is very tall and has alot of varations. This kid did not show any promising signs of variations (though he has time on his side....you can usually see something special like people did in a young Kaneriea or even Amjad with his googly).

Shehzad gone for 40.

Huge wicket that. Pakistan are going to struggle to win from here.

3 runs to win from 26 overs with 6 wickets in hand.

Thanks mate - we have had a lot of young leggies come through thanks to Warne but so far none have been any good.

Get your point about something special - everyone knew Warne was something else, even when he got smashed all around SCG in his debut Test.

What happened to Nathan Hauritz? I know he is no leggie but he did play one test on a turner in Mumbai.

I still think Aussies should persist with Hogg. He has turn, a bit of bounce and some good suttle variations. He just got bashed by some of the most expierenced players of spin. Even then, he took some wickets and look the manner he took his wickets in. Some good classical dismissals in where a bowler sets up a batsmen like he did with Ganguly (who is known to be a pretty decent attacking player of spin).

If Hogg plays in Pakistan, he will do well or relatively decently. Pakistan have always struggled to left arm spinners and with his variation....he could be dangerous.
