Babar Azam at #6 (probable) will be a disaster even if he doesn't fail in the 1st ODI.

...Quite a lineup England got there.

If Shehzad doesn't play (there's a little chance of that) Babar Azam might open, or might bat one down with Mohammad Hafeez opening.

But yeah, will have to bat at six if Ahmed Shehzad is playing.

Shahzad will definitely play. He's coming off a good tour to Sri Lanka. Honestly, we've got a fragile top and middle order which will be reliant on Mohammad Hafeez to give the innings the impetus it needs, which says a lot.

Broad and Anderson not playing ODI series?

Also why is Babar so far down the order, he plays much better as a top order batsman

If rizwan is left out  id rather see shehzad sit out and hafeez open.

Azhar Ali says this one is for Younis: "He's been a tremendous role model and ambassador. We want to win for him." Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam miss out, with offspinning allrounder Bilal Asif included.

Can't be right, Azhar said Ahmed isn't playing....

Sky sports coverage showing Babar Azam is playing, not Shehzad.

No rizwan or Babar Azam

well done pakistan, good to see we are looking to the future

Nasser also said it'll be interesting to see if Rizwan gets in the team today, was him returning to Pakistan actually confirmed anywhere?

what did he say

He was talking about how weird the Younis Khan issue is.

First he got axed, made a fuss, got picked, then announced retirement.
Then he went on to say that "if you read comments by Pakistani fans online and on blogs, they say he wasn't a great ODI player."

great news first younis retired , now shehzad droped from 11 , hopefully he gets droped from squad as well

In the meantime, Younis has been speaking to Ramiz Raja on Ten Sports... Ramiz asks him when he's going stop dropping such deadly surprises.

Younis: "Not really a surprise in my mind, I've been thinking about this for the last 7-8 months. I feel when a cricketer has given 10-15 years of service to his country, he deserves to leave behind a legacy and have a send-off. He deserves to walk off the field of play one last time with pride and his head held high."

I really dont know if he is right or wrong.

Plenty of left arm pace bowling on both sides, england openers like to be positive so lets hope we can take some early wickets here.

The teams are observing a minute's silence and then we will get underway

Why ???
