Its not about that.

All Pakistan players need to watch the Dhoni school of batting (no need to take it to that extreme of DHoni).

The philosophy is simple.

As long as bowlers have 150+ runs, giving even 10 runs per over aint' gonna make them panic or it will win you the game.

But if you are say 275-3 in 40 overs (totally possible in this pitch and against this attack), you are at a great position to close tyhe game )which will be very close.

However 275-5 in 37 overs DIMINISHES your chances BIG TIME.

Wickets WILL FALL in the final stretch and all you need is 2 wickets for the game to close.

Finally a good post we don't have that going for the kill mentality that plays the opponent out of the game style of batting.

Again, look at the scores of the top 4. All got starts, highest 51. The attitude is correct but in ANY ODI innings, you need to get a 100 from one of the top order batsmen to get a big score. Otherwise, the pressure on the others is usually too much.
 
smashed for 4 by malik, only problem is the well set batsmen always seems to get out at the wrong time.
 
Malik can play a selfish game easily - 40 from next 50 balls 'll take him to 66 of 63 - nobody can blame him thereafter; but I am sure he'll try to win this.
 
Seriously soft by Rizwan....gone after Six... And now it is going out of reach.

If there is anyone in Pakistan's lineup capable of pulling the unthinkable, its Malik, he's suited to these sort of surfaces, will be a pity if he misses out!

Rizwan as expected gone to Adil Rashid.
 
Feather of a nick does for Rizwan. Now it does feel like mission impossible.

Dada this is Pakistan we are talking about 9.5 times out of 10 we do not even score 275

Our batting was looking so good it was like a dream. And then brain dots by all our batsmen.

You're a blatant troll. He had a solid innings for a player in his 8th match and given the scenario. Wasted deliveries is a ridiculous notion.
 
Looks like Pakistan will come close , though Pakistan have never chased down 300 plus , came close against India , chasing 340 odd

No point scoring 10-15 runs an over if you lose wickets.

But if you kept your guard till 275-300/3 or 4, you were in for a victory (a good chance I would say).

Now chances of victory are NILL and your RR is freaking 7.

I have an opinion that he wastes on starts he gets on. Its nothing new with him. Is characteristic of his relatives and I am entitled to my opinion.

It's nothing new with him? Do you know who is on Team Pakistan? Do you know he's in his 8th match? Do you know he is 21? Do you know today he was the best batsmen on the team and the seniors played foolish?

Yea can't understand the logic. If we got to 200/3 in 30 overs. We could've dashed in the last 20.
What pathetic planning.
 
They should've send Sarfraz instead of Rizwan in the first place :(
 
Just get to 250 without losing more wickets, even if it takes 12 overs. 106 runs in last 10 overs is quite possible with wickets in hand.

Chsing 330-350 is an art.

Wickets is PARAMOUNT in such chases.

As long as run rate is sufficiently maintained...its fine.

Its better to be 195-2 in 31 or 32 overs than this.
 
The moment Malik gets out, I am signing out. He is the only one who can pull off the remarkable, don't have any faith in Sarfraz and Co.
