It's doubtful if the batsman comes down the wicket...but two things worked against Mahi, ball stayed low and there was no doubt about the height...secondly and as observed on the previous ball he faced from Afridi Mahi was playing more like a center forward and kicking the ball with bat no where to be found...so deliberate padding also played a part...
