420 will be the score I guess & if Pakistan can bat well & get 600 until tea on day 4, then we will have to get them out on less then 180 & Pakistan win by an Innings & some runs thats not so difficult.
that could only happen, if newzland dropped more catches then pakistan did.

Missed most of what play there was today.

Very dissappointing day for Pakistan, they bowled well yesterday but not well today. Vettori made them pay for the missed catch and all up 4 drops in a Test innings will not win you very many matches. And Pakistan are not going to win this match.

NZ in very strong position with the suspect batting line up of Pakistan to come.

The follow up perfomance the 2nd day was always going be tough since Pakistan has not played test cricket for a while hence the Vettori drop was so crucial as that would have allowed us to clean up, agree about the catches mate.

Imran Farhat is currently on -135

14.3 Umar Gul to Guptill, no run, and that's......... dropped! Farhat spills a straight forward chance as he fails to latch on. Gul gets it to move away after pitching it on the off stump and on a length that can be called short - COST: 36 runs

73.2 Mohammad Asif to Vettori, 1 run, Dropped Farhat again! Asif gets it to move away off the seam, squares up Vettori and it induces a thick outside edge, Farhat fails to cup it low at first slip, he ought to have dived forward - COST: 99 runs

Total cost: 135 runs (excluding partnership runs)

Basically Farhat is starting on a score of -135. He needs to score 135 just to make amends for his drops..

Surely its more than that. You have to count the cost of the partnership, and not just the runs the batsmen scored.

If Vettori had gone for nought, then would McCullum have scored the runs he did without Vettori at the crease with him?

If we rip out the next two wickets before lunch we should be fairly happy with how we've gone. This will be a draw, unless Pakistan crumble like kumble.

Gents

NO personal remarks about ANY player pls.

That's a piece of cake for Farhat. He can easily score 135+. In eight innings.

Yes but you must also factor in the partnerships with other players during this. Ross Taylor was all over the place and at 48-3 I think he would have found it harder, rather than having Guptil providing boundaries and allowing him to settle.

Had both catches been taken I think New Zealand would have been around 250 all out.

Yeh well it's hard to quantify that. Let's round it up and say that Farhat needs to score a double ton to make up for his earlier indiscretions.

Just imagine Farhat getting out on zero. Then that will surely round off a brilliant match for him. He better make a big score or else. Anyway not a good day for Pakistan by any means. Pakistan need to score more than 550 by the 4 day. If they can't, don't expect a win from them. NZ on course to at least draw this if not win it.

I wouldnt be shocked if Pakistan lost by a inns in this test match!

Some solid batting will be needed over next few days!

Why, have we lost this game already?
call me a wrist slitter but I have a feeling we are in trouble especially since next 3 days its predicted the conditions will be cold with lots of cloud cover and we do have an untested batting line up, hope they prove me wrong thogh.

Patience. Plenty of time left in this game, still all results possible.

Same with the series, even if we lose this game.

That would mean his worth is Zero. I think he needs to score 200 to keep 75 credit toward next inning's catches.

I wonder what it feels like to be Imran Farhat. I mean, how do you sleep at night knowing that the position your team is in is ALL because of you. There's only so much the bowlers can do, and there's no doubt that all four have bowled absolutely brilliantly. They lose confidence was a catch is dropped, and it's hard to keep going.

So please, someone personally ask Farhat what he feels like. The captain might say it's okay, but it's really not. Having 4 dropped chances is ridiculous and irredeemable, even if he does score a 200. We went from being in a potentially victorious positon to a hapless "looking for a draw" position.

Farthat I guess himself does want to accept, learn and improve on his catching.
If I was in his place, I would have myself asked the captain to take me out of that 1st slip before I drop any more catches, further demoralize the bowlers and give a blow to the team's chances of doing well. But NO.
That tells a whole lot about how much he cares for the team and the country. IMO.

as imran farhat is currently at roughly -200 runs, he should be looking to make a double century to even it out. that being said I want a million dollars and Zardari wants the end to load shedding.
