They talk about home umpires being reintroduced - wait till Asad Rauf or Aleem Dar make a mistake or give a '50-50' decison Pak's way - then we'll have Obama invading us!
Is Billy Bowden the only Kiwi umpire on the elite panel?

It's remarkable how some players, like Kamran, bring their best under high pressure situations.

why does akmal have the red thing on his right arm?
I thinks it's the breast cancer ribbon....no thats the pink one. Its AIDS ribbon.

infact I've seen Dar,Rauf and Zamir Haider give a 50-50 decision against us..

4 more.. really impressive stuff from Kami, at this rate we'l get 250 pretty quickly

akmal batting close to 2005 level ... good to see him back.

why is Gul rated as a batsman? both ajmal and asif should be ahead of him.

I think their plan maybe just that Gul needs to hold one end and Akmal keeps scoring, because Akmal is a capable batsman and if Gul gets out making a shot, then Akmal might not be able to score as much necessarily...

it is his blood. He had an injection this morning but it is leaking blood and the bandage is not stopping it

:akmal enjoys batting with the tail because then hes got the license to play his strokes..

Kami having a good series.

Actually looks like a decent wicket keeper batsman now.

Vettori having a word with the umpire about Gul's batting action....

Very similar records for Dhoni and Kmaran when it comes to Test cricket.

"Who is the bestest: Dhoni v Akmal"

Dhoni is a good ODI bat.

Considering how good a batsman he's supposed to be I think he's an under achiever at test level so far

And really thats the true test of any player. His test performances. Same for Yuvraj.

However if you look at Dhoni as a standard wk batsman he's an alright player. Same for Kami

Not to take anyhting from Kami who has played really well, but I have always believed that such situations are when the pressure is least on a batsman as far as individual performance is considered. Because the top order, including the big guns have failed, its a win-win situation. If he clikcs, he will be a hero, if he doesnt, no one blames him. That is also why you sometimes find tailenders play some great knocks becuase they have nothing to lose. Nothing to lose=least pressure.

That thought makes sense too. But I consider such situations to be more stressful.

in my opinion,Kami is also an underachiever at odis level..He is extremely talented but cant do justice to his talent in odis which is a shame..

Why is that? Its usually also the time when the ball gets old and the pitch would have eased out from the start.

226-7

I guess anything is a bonus - but 300 ish would be us 'out of jail'

KAmi survives

Good point.

But put it this way, he's got some runs this time round so well played.

Akmal has played brilliantly..

He's a victim of the juggling routine. If he'd been made an opener in ODIs he would have a better record.

One bad stroke and the innings are over.

I think he has opened for the majority of his career and has scored 4 of his 5 ODI 100's as an opener !

Horrible shot by Gull - Malik would have been proud of it

He's opened 48 times and come in at 6-7 34 times. Should have been given a real run as opener.

True say.

From a test point of view they are fairly similar.

But as an ODI player Dhoni is obviously the more accomplished player.

Yea everyone's counting on you at this point so it can cause more pressure. But i think it depends on the mind set of the batsmen whether they dwell on the negatives or just play their game.

These guys are laughing at their own corny jokes. Who would have thought that Waqar would be the life of the party?

yup,he was doing a fine job at the top of the order and had almost settled there after the CT..but then all of a sudden,we needed him down the order:inti

Style wise, Kami is more pleasing on the eye.

Remember a year or so ago where everyone was after Kamran Akmal's head on these forums?

Very nice batting conditions today .. not good for us considering we will be bowling most of the day.
