Yes
and that means they gift their wickets to a part timer

These types of mistakes are unacceptable

I am greatful for a good start but throwing your wickets away at such a crucial juncture?
Firstly, Guptill is bowling well.

Secondly, not ALL the time do batsmen get out to amazing deliveries. You have to see it from all teams' perspectives. The bowlers can get the batsmen to make mistakes, which is exactly what Guptill did. The openers did their job again, and it's up to MoYo, Misbah, Kamran, and Umar to make something of it.

Good captaincy to start with Guptal, something different. Caught both guys sleeping and pocking. Not something we can imagin from our captain.

Anything special you have seen in his bowling? any variation etc?

They did partt of their job. They were effectively starting from scratch today - they should have approached it as if they were both 0*

But they didnt

This is why Pak should have played Ajmal instead of Gul or Aamer given the number of lefties in the NZ team as well

It was fine if they got out to good-average bowls

But gifting your wickets like this and that to back to back is unacceptable

seriously , no obvious weakness in his technique ..lots of time to play his shots & i see some foot work ...at least not the crap player hes made out to be by ppers

well i dont think he is bowling good i think our batsmen give their wickets away.

You are right they give us good opening partnership but i think what Sallu is trying to say is if you have a good start then they both should have use it properly

Yes - it was on the pitch - and thats 'minefield territory' for our clowns!

Come on! We've been watching him for years. He is actually scared of the ball! Bond would have terrified him!

Wait till O'Brien comes on (if Iqbal is still there!)

Interestingly one of them didn't land on the pitch

its halwa bowling and it could make you play a little careless shot.

good flight , bit of spin & no loose deliveries ,bowled well actually

no loose balls?

More like One long hop per over

He is just bowling gun barrell straight with a bit of drift, thats about it.

What, you guys didn't expect Vettori to bring on our striking off-spinner before himself this morning? Silly Pakistan...

Are we watching the same match? He's bowling a perfect line, with good flight, and some turn. Nothing loose or 'halwa' about it.

He is quite good. I've seen him play before many times. Not the impression you woud get reading the forums. I guess he gets a lot of flak for being Miandad's nephew. I think he is a decent player.

And that makes a big difference. Just ask Afirid...

O'Brien to Faisal Iqbal, FOUR, back of a length and a bit of width, Iqbal gets across and cracksthat firmly past point for four, good shot that

Afridi bowls a hundred million different bowls with much more accuracy

I agree Guptill has not bowled rubbish
Handy part time bowling. Perhaps can get wickets when batsman are looking for quick runs but really, when 2 openers are just looking to get set, they should be really dissapointed in getting out on such bowling

Imran Khan would have chewed these two out for giving their wkts like this but they did good yesterday

O'Brien might trouble Faisal with bounce.

He did - 1st ball. STraight, and Iqbal played it with an angled bat down leg!

first time Vettori is attacking and give batsmen a chance to hit boundries so far he always put his fielder on boundry

No offence to all you Faisal Iqbal fans but he is out of his depth against the mighty O'Brien!

I'm talking about the drift. Drift can trouble a batsmen. Afridi always had the variation but over the last couple of years he's been drifting the ball and causing more trouble for the batsmen.

Hammad Iqbal from Pakistan: "Pakistan losing grip and control on match! they need a real good partnership to fight back, it an important inning for Faisal for his selection point of view and important inning for Yousaf for his captaincy point."
Cricinfo

Even if Yousuf hit a 100 here doesnt mean he is a good captain!

Faisal is a spin specialist. Looks somewhat compact against the spinners but gets squared up far too often against the pacers.

He could hit 500 and he'd still be a hopeless captain! Runs mean nothing
