Shaheen plays every game in this SA series and has to play every game for LQ starting next week.....

We all know that most of these youngsters and new players won't be in the squad for the LOI tour of South Africa in April. Hafeez, Imad, Shadab and maybe even Malik will probably come back unfortunately.

Malan is so good man. South Africa need to get him into the test team and he should partner De Kock in ODIs.

Hafeez, Shadab and Imad were not dropped though, they were unavailable.
 
Why Pak are not able to take singles as easily our oppositions, they even take so gles on mishits and blocks.
 
Nawaz has been so much better than the garbage we saw him bowl in the last PSL
 
Can't understand why he didn't bowl in tandem with Shaheen at the start yesterday....

Good selections by Pak to go with three spinners, two matches too late though. Hasan Ali was not needed, Danish should have played in his place. Talat also could fill in for medium fast bowling if needed.

Pakistan according to CricViz have been successful in 77% of run chases since 2016 T20 WC but with this XI anything more than 160 will be tough.

He's a solid cricketer. Comes in No.5 for the first class team. He can bat as well.

It's his batting which lets him down...Imad has actually finished matches with his batting e.g. against the Afghanis at the WC which I saw live at the ground...

Agreed. Thing is they are all similar kind of players, Nawaz is a bit unlucky how they all suddenly popped up together when in 2015 we were struggling bit time for an option to support Afridi and provide some batting depth as well.

Agree. Nawaz was well rated after the first PSL, but his performances in the green shirt were disappointing, especially with the bat. But he is probably better than he's shown.

Maybe but do remember him coming at crunch situations and not able to do much with the bat...there was match a few years ago where he came in and couldn't finish the job and it was left with Malik to finish the job...he is a better bowler than Shadab...
 
Shaheen has bowled almost twice the number of overs Rabada bowled at 20 years of age. :srt

Imad was discovered earlier than Nawaz and played before PSL, and he kept his place in the team.

Nawaz made a big impact in PSL 1 and if Imad wasn’t in the team already, he would have become a first-choice player.

Luck plays a big factor in career trajectory especially when the players are of similar skill-level and potential.

He has bowled accurately which is what stands out for me. Yes a batsman can hit a good shot but, cant fault Nawaz there much as he is doing what he is capable of decently.
 
Would rather go with Nawaz instead of Imad with this kind of bowling in India.

Need big innings from Janneman here...as long as he is there SA will breath easy.

Hes a very good bowler.

A lot of these 'experts' were laughing at the thought of him being anything above decent. But then he did pick up Hales and Faf in the PSL semi final and final. He is the second or 3rd seamer we need, not Hassan Ali lol

Was going to say this as well. I think Nawaz would look a decent ODI batsman where he has time to play himself in. Usually when he comes in he is out trying to slog too early.

Absolutely. The home series which Pak played vs Zim as the cricket returned in 2015, Imad got his opportunity. While Nawaz as you said only came into limelight in PSL in 2016. Luck indeed plays a role in the careers of the players based upon the eras they are born in and the competitors for the spot on offer at that time.

He kept getting promoted in Northern team over Rohail
Nazir in some domestic Cup games and kept flopping.
 
Haider moves like a 40 year old in the field. No speed and agility.
 
SA batting at a run rate of 6...lol. Thdy would be defending under Dew...so minimum 170 is required.
 
Hassan for Haris was a real like-for-like replacement
