The match situation

Pakistan 579/3d & 123
West Indies 357 & 95/2 (31.0 ov)
West Indies require another 251 runs with 8 wickets remaining

A few wickets in the earlier sessions and Pakistan should be on their way.
 
WI should take their time and play for time and not the occasion. They're ahead of the game here, but a wicket or two might open the floodgates too.

The pitch is playing pretty well for a 4th/5th day pitch too, so I can't see any major issues for the batsmen unless they give it away.
 
Unless the pitch completely loses it's zip on day 5 (like what happened to India in Jamaica a couple of months back), Pakistan should win this easily. So no need to panic bwoyz! :inzi

Watching Yasir bowl is honestly such a pleasure. There may have been better legspinners but his action is so aesthetically pleasing.
 
This round the wicket angle to the right hander really seems to be working for Amir.
 
Wahab has a side strain.

Now if we listened some PPers who insisted we didn't need a 5th bowler - we'd be screwed.
 
If Windies keep batting at this pace, they might find it hard to get the target even if they keep wickets in hand.
 
Ordinary stuff by Yasir so far in this innings. Ashwin would have these batsmen in trouble.

he needs sharp turn in the pitch to be successful or batsmen making mistakes. Pakistan just like in the past relying on yasir doing the tricks. Not everyday is a Sunday. Pakistan should have brought good spinner to support Yasir rather than bringing darters.
 
Brilliant review by Nawaz. Always had faith in him unlike others who just write him off after one innings.

The answer is to put Umar Akmal in the team.
 
WI needs score quickly. I don't think they can survive for 90 overs. Wickets will fall anyway. They need to take calculated risks and ensure that they score extra runs every now and then.
 
Credit to Nawaz for pushing for that review. He seemed certain whereas the fielders didn't appeal very vigorously.

At first it looked as if it was going down leg or was too high.
 
Some 27-28 runs and already 2 gone today..

The game won't last till tea.

Difference between Ashwin/Jadeja and Yasir/Nawaz or Yasir/Zulfiqar is the fact that Ashwin and Jadeja are relentless in their length, specifically. Jadeja hits that good length 6 balls out of 6 with pace and with the pitches turning there, he becomes a monster. Same with Ashwin who while bowls relatively slowly still hits those good lengths almost on will. Both Yasir and Nawaz/Zulfiqar are regularly inconsistent in their lengths. They need to learn to bowl an entire over with the same line and length.

Missed the first hour of play but I'm here now to watch the next 2-3 hours. Looks like a lot of yesterday's wrist slitters will be disappointed with the way the morning has gone so far.

Bravo is a massive underachiever, and almost all underachievers love playing Pakistan
 
sohail khan just bowled 2 overs and pak have already bowled 50 overs....if misbah doesnt have any faith in his bowling especially in these conditions why would he select or give a nod for his selection....

No he is been struggling in the longer formats including ODIs... did well in T20Is.... his age is catching up with his only attack of bounce and pace or carrying a niggle for the past 4 months or he needs waqar only to coach him...

should rest him and sohail for the next test and bring in rahat and zulfiqar babar...sohail is just a waste of pace...wahab's pace and bounce is needed in AUS with the day-night at GABBA

In the last over of session misbah should give a azhar a chance, i think he may pull out some suprise, because he get some real spin, what you think guys? Should he and will he?
 
looks like only amir is bound to save this test match for pak... i feel he might get 5 wicket haul today with the 2nd new ball coming to play...
 
Looks like this test is heading for a draw!!! Yasir has lost his venom.
 
To easy for the WI at the moment, Pak waiting for a mistake, they might not get it from these batsmen.
 
Match 50 50 at the moment given that dew will affect pakistans bowling in the last session.

60/2, i guess we should take this session gladly, some more wickets would have been better but still can't complain much.

Some of you wrist slitters panic for no reason. 100 runs a session from here is just not going to happen. Pakistan have this in the bag.

well pollard still have to debut in tests lol... Only Gayle at the top an exception other than that Holder occupies Bravo's absence..
