What's new

Pakistan v West Indies | 1st Test (D/N) | Dubai (DSC) | Oct 13-17, 2016 | Day 5

I think Nawaz has done his job here, if you think of him as an allrounder and not a specialist bowler.
Generally, disappointed with all three pacers tbh.

Except for one or 2 Indians all the subcontinental commies suck. Ian bishop is a different level to everyone else, puts Shame to the likes of Ramiz.

I think Holder should just reinvent himself as a top 6 batsman who can bowl a little bit.

His bowling is not threatening enough to class him as a bowling AR. However he's more than decent with the bat and has made a few good Test knocks.

He could do some damage against England next year as a bowler. They will be playing them in the early part of the English "summer"

An all rounder? He scored a magnificent zero in the 2nd innings.

just bowl aamir and yasir until close of play. nobody else looks like they can take a wicket. if windies can survive those to for the next hour they deserve the draw

Pakistan Zindabad! RIP all the haters and pretend Pakistan fans , go support that poor excuse for a cricket team across the border it's what you deserve

LOL.

Happy for the win! Got so close! Yeah, I was too nervous. :danish

Bravo should get MOM!!!

Breathing a sigh of relief.

Credit to West Indies for battling harder than anyone expected. Maybe if Marlon had stuck it out a little longer and wasn't dismissed first ball today, a draw would've been achieved.

well done Pakistan on excellent win, let's hope rest of series is just as exciting

Well played West Indies. You were magnificent. Showed character.

Congrats to Pakistan..Well deserved win.

Good effort by WI too..Bravo and Bishoo were the heroes for them.

I dont have an issue with grammar, more interested in the thought. The usual Ramiz sentence is a noun, three adjectives, and maybe a very. eg "he has played a solid good little innings"

I agree with you on most part of your comment but it makes u sound awful when u can't put one correct sentence together grammatically. Wasim used to hv a same problem but he's really improved on it and so has waqar actually but there's still a lot of room for improvement.
From the current commentators in this series, I like fazeer by far who had lost his tv anchoring job some 5 yrs ago coz of making some controversial remarks about a Trinidad and Tobago prime minister While interviewing her in his show that he used host a tv channel in West indies.

I didn't know this bit about Fazeer. thanks for enlightening. Yes I agree, he is very good. Sounds in many respects like the reincarnation of tony cozier

Well played WI and unlucky. Pakistan got very lucky, but a win is a win.

Great knock by Bravo and Holder at the end too. Nawaz/Shah/Amir bowled well.

Sohail Khan was just pathetic though. Lots of grunting but no venom or accuracy to go with it.

Moral Victory for WI. Well played was not expecting it to get this close

Would be fitting to see Yasir take his second 5fer after going missing for so long in the match.

Congratulations on the win.

I think you have JFK's pic on your profile, what does the quote in the pic say?

We got out of jail

I was too nervous to post at one point lol

Yeh he's a deserving successor of late Tony Cozier though he still has a long way to go.

When he lost his job there's no one to employee him in West indies but then Allah has his own ways of opening new doors for you. The guy wd hv nvr become a commentator had it not for his faith in Almighty Allah. Ten sports out of no where offered him a contract and he is been associated with them ever since and now I think he's too strong a resume to get a commentators job any where in.the world.

The two brainless run outs saved us

Great fight and moral victory for WI... Congrats pak and nice wake up call for pak as not to be complacent on any team....

hehe... i had in my mind one ball to get bravo and he will give that chance on lack of concenteration... to bat in this heat is both physically and mentally to be excellent,,, it will take a toll on anyone...not easy...same happened with sachin long time ago in chennai i think...it is the fate and fact of 5th innings chase...

Great, hard fought Test. As expected, went to the 15th session. I think, in D/N Test, in UAE, we need just a bit more bounce in the wicket - it'll be excellent Test.

Oh man, I need to know what Misbah said to Inzi just there

I'm glad we were tested like this - too many were expecting WI to sleepwalk into a whitewash. They showed a lot of fight whereas we became complacent.

Yes I could tolerate the flat nature of the pitches if at least the bounce and carry is above shin height.
