What's new

Pakistan v West Indies | 1st Test (D/N) | Dubai (DSC) | Oct 13-17, 2016 | Day 5

Some deep part of me wanted West Indies to win this match. Still do.
What character they have shown.
But alas, thats how life is sometimes: when you attempt to change your circumstances, life pushes back in painful ways. I hope this match serves as some sort of rallying point.

Fantastic performances from them, not even the Aussies managed to display this much fight

first test for mickey in UAE, would have realised that by now..

Nawaz bowling average in UAE Tests: 16.75

Zulfiqar 'Legendary' Babar's average in UAE Tests: 36.59

Masha Allah, Zulfiqar is 37 years old, therefore he should be played on the basis of his seniority.

But you still need more than 15 seconds to decide.

15 seconds are there because if you have no doubt you won't think twice about reviewing, the system is designed to back the on field umpire 50 % and 50 % eliminate howlers

I hope the game ends in another 10-15 minutes. Need to catch the Liverpool vs Man United game pre-game discussion.

This will be a good win as this pitch was really flat and not easy to get 20 wickets on.

My viewing pleasure is diminished only by the assault on my ears by Ramiz Raja.

The only thing I have been slitting my wrists about in the whole game is the commies wanting Zulfi Cobra to play.

Will complete formalities. 20 overs to go. Shouldn't be a problem.

And WI...man respect. Whattay performance.

Typical UAE match. Both teams, umpires, crowd and commentators sleep through the match for the first three and a half days. and then effectively all of it happens in the last day and a half.

Fantastic 5 days of test cricket by these two teams so far, who says cricket in the uae is boring

Hehe....honestly can be pretty boring for 3.5 days.

Need fast scoring pitches. Spin or swing.

Can't tell if you're complaining or complimenting?

Maybe it was too much to hope, but I held on to the faint hope that Ramiz at night might make more sense than Ramiz during the day

These type of test matches have to be set up on 1St few days for the drama that follows, still makes interesting viewing for die hard test match fans

A brilliant day of cricket today doesn't mean the first three days weren't boring as hell

Would u rather see a moon dust pitch that turns from ball one with substandard cricket being played and game ending in 3 days like they do in India? Test cricket should be a war of attrition

He is not the best we have, he is just the most heard from: if prefer waqar and bazid

The occasional Indian minefield is entertaining, yeah.

Holder might as well go down slogging here, it's worth a go

India! ARE YOU WATCHING?

:)))

Also, are we defo winning now? ya'll post count suddenly decreased :yk2

Let me put it this way. I did not watch the first 3 days, because I was anticipating this.

Waqar younis lacks basic vocabulary and English. Bazid is boring. Ramiz has the best set of vocabulary and is right up there in terms of words with the world. And we all know about his full of passion screams and shouts. Also like his stories from Imran Khan era.

Looks like Holding wants to go and watch the Liverpool vs Man United game as well. In a hurry to get back.

Ramiz is an abysmal commentator. He parrots whatever the person next to him says, has no opinion of his own and his stories from the Imran Khan era are the same ones we have all heard a hundred times before.

He offers absolutely nothing to the viewing audience.

Bazid is the best by miles.

Watching the last pair bat in this kind of situation is always funny reminds me of sohail and amir in england

@;"Jane de"- Sarfraz to the man on the boundary. Should've listened to Sarfraz lol

Bazid is good but still his intonations are too bad for a commentator. He's always monotonous but I think he's going to be a wonderful commentator in some years. Waqar is as pathetic as they come. Most of the times he doesn't know what he's talking about and the worst is that he can seldom frame one sentence together without making a grammatical error, Ramiz in that regards is a champion. Ramiz,s only distract is that he talks none sense at times in fact most of the times but he talks well.

To each their own, I guess. Bazid is very analytical and has good cricketing knowledge, but his lack of enthusiasm isn't really great.

Praise the Lord.

MashaAllah you're such a good servant of Allah, praising the Lord even when things don't go your way. Very unique for a Pakistani right and you're all about going against the grain right :yk

I dont have an issue with grammar, more interested in the thought. The usual Ramiz sentence is a noun, three adjectives, and maybe a very. eg "he has played a solid good little innings"

I think Holder should just reinvent himself as a top 6 batsman who can bowl a little bit.

His bowling is not threatening enough to class him as a bowling AR. However he's more than decent with the bat and has made a few good Test knocks.
