Pakistan v West Indies | 2nd ODI | Sharjah | Oct 2, 2016 | Match Thread

Malik gets a lot of hate but is still a fantastic ODI batsman in Asia - can beat at ease against the spinners and play at a SR of 80-85

He has a 44.71 average in 25 innings at a 79 SR. Similar numbers batting at the 3 position too.

The problem in his career is that he has been played from 6-9 positions way too often in a finisher's role when he is a middle order batsmen who needs time to settle down and get going.

lol Poor Suleiman Benn. Feel for him. facing Malik on these tracks.

Amazing from Malik. Benn is filth and his bowling deserves this treatment

Has anyone in 'this part of the world' ever heard someone describe a big six as a 'Burj shot'? Stupid Ramiz.

Woahhhhhh.

That guy has the balls of steel.

The speeds on those UAE roads is around 60-70 mph.

Ramiz being zabardasti ka funny. Bhai chup ho jaaaaa :danish

Despite Benn serving up a buffet, taking nothing away from this wonderful hitting from Malik.

Unlike against pace, never doubted his ability against spin. Using his feet really well.

This - he is an ATG against spin tbh.

Seems like Malik was avenging Babar there :))

This after Malik carried off an injured Babar in Manchester. Malik and Babar bromance.

Shoaib Malik is a master in these conditions. No idea why people oppose his selection in these conditions. You want to win, don't you ?

This should be enough for critics. One of the best.

Pakistan cruising against a toothless Windies attack that is getting more demoralised by the over.

A score of well above 300 should be obtained.

Wow 93 for Inzi. So far ahead of number 2....

That average is a bit disappointing though. Inzi had the talent to be easily a 45 averaging batsman. This is maybe why he is not ranked alongside Lara, Sachin, Pointing.

"It's tough to fight when you keep getting hit below the belt": Viv :)) :viv

It must be so disheartening to be Sir Viv. When you were playing these choti moti sides like Pakistan were easy to push over (on most days) now they are beating you without even breaking a sweat.

PAK should reach close to 400 today. Strategy should be, if no wicket before 35 overs, Rizwan, Imad comes ahead of Sarfu

Tbf (as Viv mentioned hiimself) Pakistan was the most competitive side when Viv was at his prime - like late 1980's.

We declined towards the end of the 2000's decade and still continuing so far.

How are we any better off ? Never thought I'd see a day that Pakistan would have such a timid captain at it's helm and languish at the bottom of the ODI rankings. Hopefully, this isn't just a spark in the pan and we're truly moving forward.

It's sad to see WI play two medicore medium pacers when they have quick fast bowlers

Roston Chase should play as an AR.

I want us to have a batting collapse :srini

Bhai bowlers ko bhi khelnay do.. plus the Windies are not going to chase anything over 200 anyway, if the target is around 250 then Azhar will have to do good captaincy and the bowlers will have to work hard. If the target is 350 the bowlers can just roll their arms over and will still win with 75-100 runs.

Pollard has a few words to say to Malik. Remember, both of them play for Barbados Tridents in the CPL
