Under 3 hours to go! Pitch will likely be a belter. Win the toss and bat, as is the norm. Really hope Sohail Khan plays, though it looks unlikely.

expect a high scoring game, I think 300+ is on the cards. I also hope sohail khan plays, but most likely he will play after we have won the series !

That is definitely the likely team but our team balance needs a revision. There is absolutely no 6th bowler option with Malik being the 5th bowler(we know he rarely bowls a full quota). This line up will severely be punished against quality teams.

We definitely can't play 2 specialist openers. To me Younis has to open since the Akmal experiment has pretty much failed.

I think we should play Fawad Alam instead of either Younus or Yousuf. We can alternate the Y's and give Fawad 5 games to prove himself as a batsman and a 6th bowling option.
 
sohail khan has to play but instead Rao will play and bowl 10 overs on the trot taking 1 for 28 or something. i would rather watch a 4 for 58 performance !
 
I really hope Ashraful to fire big times, such an exciting talent he is
 
We should not open with Lalla, it will be a horrific mistake against the strong attacking Pakistani opening batsmen, we should open our bowling with mash and rasel and then lalla (Abdur Razzak's nic incase some are wondering) should finish off the powerplays with Rasel, and Rasel should complete his 10 overs as he is useless later on. Batting should be same, follow the rules set by Siddons.
 
Ohh by the way good luck to both teams, hoping for a Bangladesh surprise but definately want a good positive performance

Don't worry mate, there'll definitely be positives for the Bangladeshis to take. I Expect atleast one, if not two games to go down to the wire.
 
what time does the match officially start? theres no updates on whos won the toss etc..
 
i hope we play at least 4 fast bowlers.

but of course i doubt that will happen with the defensive current management who only interested in saving their own hides.

Toss is in half an hour, game to start at 3 pm PST.

If it's a flat track then there is no point, even I want it to happen, it's not as we have 4 genuine pacers in the squad. Only 3 can hit 140's and 2 of them are not even likely to play.
 
less than half an hour to go folks.

Pakistan usually start series in a rusty manner. This match may represent BD's best chance for a vaictory in the series.

this way we have 6 bowlers to chose from three seamers three spinners ...also i dont like the idea of akmal opening but we dont have choice we cant play 2 genuine openers are bowling will be too weak...malik can open also i believe that is the best option
 
pakistan is batting first..i dont even get to see the match since i live in the university droms and they bloody dont get ARY
 
I bunked a half day at work to watch this. Needed this Pakistan cricket fix.....haven't had one for ages.

This line-up was pretty much expected but I would have liked to see Sohail Khan in Rao's place.

Yes. I would have had Sohail Khan in for Rao and I would have had Fawad Alam in for Mohammad Yousuf.

Which is why I would have picked Fawad instead of Yousuf. Would have given us that 6th bowling option.
 
When asked if dew would be a factor later at night when Pak field, Malik replied that they practiced the previous night and there was no dew then, so it shouldn't be a problem tonight as well.

Kamran Akmal
Sohail Tanvir
Umar Gul
Sohail Khan/Mohammad Asif when fit

well being that the opposing bowlers are brown ... i would expect butt to do well here.

This is a bit surreal. The stands are empty, there is no commentary, i mean there is NO commentary. The sound is fine but no-one is commentating

Plus there is no speed gun, what a waste of time!

Lahoris are like that. People said exactly the same thing in the Lahore matches during the South Africa series but in the end the crowd built up and was absolutely packed in all the ODIs.

It wont be packed today but it will build up as the day goes on.

Yeah there is no commentary on ARY that's why i am being forced to watch the game on Ptv.
