wow, are we talking just today? is the sample size of butt's abomination just restricted to today ? how about checking his stats for the zim series? how about checking his career strike rate ? are they a mirror replica of his potential ? or are we expecting a late growth sprout?

and just so you know, on a flat subcontinental wicket, its easier to score runs when the ball is hard then other wise. shows how much you know cricket. additionally lets believe your theory that new ball is hard to hit? malik and butt played with the same condition of the ball. or are you going to say that the ball became softer just as soon as butt got out . you might as well just say that also .

do you realize, butt is a SPECIALIST OPENER. A specialist opener , i repeat a specialist opener. more responsibility is vested on someone who calls him self a certified ho. thats just the essence of it.

ALL i said was: IS there a difference when u open and have to face a hard ball AND if u bat middle order and face a soft ball.

for YOUR information.. i dont rate BUTT higher than Malik.. they both ranked LOW imo

Butt was batting against Mortaza while Malik is batting against the spinners and ordinary bowlers like Aftab. The pitch is certainly a lot better for the pace bowlers.
 
I think the Inzy-Yousuf rescue show in ODI's has just become the Yousuf-Malik rescue show. Mind you, it is against Bangladesh, but they also did it against India and RSA.

i was just pointing out, how can u compare Butt who OPENS, with Malik who comes in 4th or 5th!

When Malik comes in, theres a foundation already set.. ball is softer, and USUALLY the pacier bowlers have had their 1st session overs

AND ofcourse LESS PRESSURE

Kamran Akmal is even better. Khuram manzoor deserved to play as he made a 50 for pak in his last match. Salman butt was very poor against zimbabwe its a shame really
 
again down to selectors not being consistent

i mean if u was BUTT.. ie. in one game.. out for 5, then in again.. what kind of consistency and motivation will u have? It wont be positive thats for sure!

Well Salman is 1 of the few pak openers who had a decent run in the team. he failed too many times. at least the likes of imran nazir and kamran akmal play attacking positive cricket. salman butt bats way too slow for am ODI opener.

If Afridi had come in they would have still had misbah, akmal and tanvir to come in next.

Misbah needed a bat.. otherwise he would be bored all game

yeah misbah isn't bad either but i guess with so many news in media you some times don't want to trust the captain /coach

I think Misbah can also hit out but not as violently as Afridi

Malik would have insisted on Misbah and no surprises there, Afridi not helping his own case
