What's new

Pakistan vs New Zealand | 3rd T20I | Dubai | Nov 4, 2018 | Pakistan innings

Babar slogging successfully? That's new.

I mean he can score quick through conventional stroke play but slogging?

Babar has the big shots but doesnt take the risk unless required as he is the key wicket for Pak in all the LOIs

Might as well, I mean we’ve already won the series so no pressure even if he gets out.

This may sound weird and controversial but i feel Pakistani umpires are biased against Pakistani batsmen.

Babar needs to back himself more to go for big shots.

This! It seems like he has worked on his power game and is in progress. Now he just needs to back himself and get confidence to plays those bug shots too. Just like he plays those ground drives

Yes exactly, it's not like he lacks the power or timing to go big.

In T20s maybe but in ODIs his wicket is so important that it doesnt worth the risk. He should model himself upon Kohli who doesnt play a risky shot unless required but when requird he can up the anti.

Hard to be Kohli but yes he should not give his wicket away in ODI’s our middle order is not strong enough to rebuild if he gets out cheaply.

Rotation of strike is most important for that

Missed out on a century but a good innings and potentially a match winning one.

Babar doesn’t have the skillset of Kohli. He should focus on playing his game and let the other batters do their bit.

Asif Ali, whats the point of not sending him?

I think they've lost all confidence in Asif Ali

if the pinch hitter can't come out to bat with 4 over and plenty of wickets left, then really he doesn't deserve a spot in playing 11

Disagree- Babar is turning out to be one of the finest white ball batsmen there is- he just needs to work on his power hitting and he will be equal to or even better than Kohli

Kohli never started with those skill sets, he learned them with time. Babar is 24, if he works hard and continues to learn he can improve.

wait what, no Asif??? are these guys serious right? did Asif get injured in the dressing room lol?

Malik already at 8 runs on 2 balls. Sending in Malik over Asif is lookin' great!

People don't remember but early on Kohli was considered the anchor of the line up. Was only after 2011 that Kohli started becoming a big hitter/ aggressive batsman.

NZ do not field well when they are put under pressure.

Exactly, he was never a game changer when he first started. Now he has become a beast totally with hard work and dedication

Just tuning in now. Hopefully we can finish strong starting with this over by this Danny Morrison lookalike.

Heading for our best total in the last 5 matches

^^^ And there is no question that HAFEEZ can't accelerate
He definitely can. A very smart hitter of the ball. Just needs to let go of his selfish nature in ODI cricket and he can be very good for Pakistan in the twilight of his career.

Can they please stop playing the PSL theme in the stadium? Somebody tell them.

Pak batsmen should try and be "Innovative"- we have *many* wickest in hand- they should just try and slog

If Hafeez can go with this form and Fakhar can get in form for the world cup than it can be really good for us

There is no bowler Hafeez Sobers can’t ruin still remember how he thrashed Malinga in 2013/14 in UAE. As far as spinners are concerned Hafeez Sobers bashes them for fun.

Agreed, most of us should admit that we were wrong about Hafeez. He's incredibly talented and a fighter, and deserves the recognition of being one of the best all-rounders we've produced (certainly more consistent than Afridi).

Hafeez been brilliant this series
It has also mean Malik playing at 4 and getting less time to settle which has affected him
Not having hafeez makes Malik to score better
