2 runs to avoid follow on

As Raz said.another 100 runs and we are still in the game.

But I don't see where these 100 runs will come from with our batsman hell bent on leaving/blocking every ball.

Well apparently boucher and Harris can do it, so maybe Misbah and Rehman can too.

how many runs do pak need to score inorder to avoid follow-on?
Already avoided the follow on. Had to score 158 and we are at 160 now

160/6

There is no reason just playing out the overs, get after the bowling.

Pathetic reaction by glory seeking / part-time / only sing when you are winning 'fans'

Go and support Australia or India if you judge everything in trophy terms.

OXy bahi...there is no fight...what kinda reaction do u expect...we were 90-0

Ok time for my nightime snack of cocoa krispies. Will be back after something dramatic happens. Go Pak!

salam guys
just logged on
once again a typical pakistani team
never consistent with their performance
we lost some good batsmen end of day 2...and a couple more this morning.....

What I dont understand is when you guys slit your wrists....why you have to come back when all is well.

Glory fans.

Only sing when you are winning.

Pathetic really.

Its you guys that are the real CHOKERS - first sign of pressure and you lose it.

Part time fans

We are still not out of it just yet. Yes we have lost quite a few wickets in quick succession, but there is still hope.

This series is not really a shock. SA has always dominated Pak. It only changed when Shoaib began running through their top order on a regular basis. Simply put, SA team is Shoaib's bunny.

You answer to beating South Africa is putting a fat , unfit , injury prone 33 year old who can barely get one ball past 140 each of the 5 overs he will bowl , before breaking down into the field ???

I'm glad you aren't the coach .

(and no ..pointing to one innings when he got 4 wickets and you won a test does not mean this freak accident will happen again )

Surely Mohammed Asif with his Series Average of 90 and Strike Rate of 198 will save us :)))

Why dont you look at his stats for all his matches. one bad test doesnt prove anything.

Huge appeal for a caught behind off Rehman, but it hit the pad.

Forget about drawing, we should still be thinking of a win at the back of our minds.

shoaib has done it more than once
i am not taking shoaib's side...nor i want him in the team
but he certainly is a game winning bowler...and him and asif could have made a good pair
but shoaib's attitude deserves him to be out of cricekt

I fogot to mention he is lazy and has a terrible attitude and temprement...

The Lahoris still haven't given up.

Pakistan Zindabad chants can be heard.

hahaha quite amazing how people in the back ground are screaming "laray takbeer, allah o akbar" like if we are on the border and not in center of the city playing a cricket match....

Is English your second language ? I only ask because you keep making the error of writing "is" when you should write "was" ....

solid yes Raz..but these two have lasted for 8 overs and only scored 11 runs!

That is taking it too far.

It's just allowing Smith to dictate terms.

The next target is to get the lead below 100.....that wont happen like this. It is okay to be defensive but you must always keep the scoreboard ticking.

english is third or fourth language for most of pakpassioners

chill guys...we are only trailing by 194 runs......Danish K is yet to come out to show his class with the bat....if he was in india, he would have been the greatest all rounder since kapil dev...

(Yeah...I wasn't having a go..it's technically my second language too...just trying to be witty...the point remains he WAS good ...but simply isn't anymore )

lol...he will get his 20...

And Jackass comes into the commentary box, enjoying telling the story of the Test so far.

Beautifully driven through the covers for 4 by Misbah, axellant shot.

People should get a reality check about Pakistan. Expectations are far too high, we don't really have a competitive unit that can play consistently over 5 days of test cricket. I wish people would stop harping on about Shoaib Akhtar. The fact is despite the placid wickets on offer our batsman are just not good enough to stay at the crease consistently.

I hate to be doom and gloom but I can't see us winning a test match in our next two series either.

The guys are trying their best but they are just not good enough.

Misfield from Pollock at point gives the single off the last ball of the over, which means Misbah retains strike.:D

Paul Harris aborting his run up so often is annoying!

Jackass laughs about it, had it been a Pakistani player he wouldn't stop crying about it.

You dont have a bad side....the batting is just either inexperienced ...or out of form...and there are some decent bowlers emerging . But give some credit to south africa , who with steyn , morkel , ntini , nel , harris and pollock for bowlers...and boucher, smith , gibbs , kallis , devilliers and prince as really talented and consitant batsmen ....we have become a very , very good team .

Does anyomne in Pak keep a rozah? Nearly all the fans in the 1st 2 tests are happily chewing away on their gum...

I was always told that you got beaten up for eating in public during Ramadhan if yu were caught eating!

Times have changed...

Maybe they're chewing on their tongue :D

Hooked by Misbah for 2, not out of the middle of the bat though.

Nel shouldnt try to take on Misbah in the verbal stakes - Misbah is one of the most educated cricketers on the world scene...

Nels at it again giving an earfull to Misbah. Misbah just smiles back and seems to be enjoying it.

Down the track and slogged to mid wicket for 4 by Rehman

I am a bit suprised with the way that we have collapsed but I think our team selection was a bit bizzare as I am sure many have already outlined. We needed a thrid seamer, be it an all rounder in the mould of A Razzaq ( who I think we are actually missing despite popular anti Razzler sentiments) or a pacer such as Sami in the absence of Shoiab. We have put too much pressure on our two quicks and am concerned that they have been over bowled....SA on the other hand have a balanced attack which is normally associated with the PAK team... Nonetheless the team can put this down to experience and prepare better for future matches. A 2 test series should never have been agrred by the PAK management anyway...

83 runs until the next target

come on boys

pakistani larkian narey maar rahey hain...where are all the guys...are they not allowed in today

Nicely tucked away for 4 to the fine leg boundary by Misbah

"Umpires call Smith and have a long chat to him, must be to tell Nel to keep his mouth shut, that is my guess anyway."

179/7

78 more runs to go!

seriously that 8th wicket partnership of 80 odd between Harry and Botch is really s crewing us over now.

And we can screw them over now with just as good, or even better a partnership.

all our runs seem to be coming in boundaries at the moment

They should try to rotate the strike and pick off 1s and 2s as much as possible.

Rehman down the track and driven with a high elbow through mid off for 4.

It is such a shame that our batsmen unable to play on such a True pitch which has alot to offer for them. Perfect pitch to score runs once you settle in.
