Afridi should still be in the team for his bowling but from now on, he should be treated as a specialist spinner. That m enas only one of him or Rehman can play. And if Afridi's bowling performance dips, then his spot should be under risk.

Aboslutly dismal performance byt out batsmen today especially misbah and afridi we had that match in the bag but then we just fell to bits and this is not good for our confidence for the indian series

But there are positives to take out of this series and match Shoaib Akthar is back with a bang
Younis, Yousuf and Malik are in great form
and Rao has been the best player for pakistan all this series

We need to work on our lower middle order cos this misbah guy hasnt got any of that confidence anymore(im not asking for his head) and afridi needs a kick up the back side

Yes.

Infact I've said it elsewhere, Akhtar should be allowed to smash anybody with his bat since he's the only match winner we have (specially in tests we cant win without him) Atleast that way Asif and co. will be contributing something.

Like someone said in another thread, Shoaib should be above the law; he's he only one who stands up to Australia.

MISBAH: As much as I liked Misbah after T20....I think he has failed so far at this level....I say give him one final chance against India...then he should be dropped permanently from the ODI and Test teams.

AFRIDI...is Afridi...Don't really blame him....it's not his fault he can't think like a proper batsman.

AKMAL: dropped another sitter which cost us dearly in the end

OUR MENTAL STRANGTH (as Waqar would say ): The biggest villain of all..... Saffers who I beleive sevearly choke when pressure is applied (as shown in their WC appearances) - showed how weak our current team mental strength is.... I don't think we have guys with the guts of Miandad and Imran Khan in our team....I'm not talking talent....just the guts and determination.... I thought Misbah might be the man... I thought he could be our Bevan or Hussey.....but he's not....He's our G.Hick.......Afridi has no guts....no brains.....but I love him in our team.............Akmal needs a threat to his place .....so we can drop him .....so that he can cut out these mistakes he makes.


There were other things that didn't go our way today.....like the Yusuf decision....but that happens in Cricket....it all balances out......our team totally choked today with the finishing line in sight......the situation was simple... we did not require huge amount of runs.....but we failed because of our lack of mental strength......being able to Fight.....


I just hope we recover mentally before the Indian Tour...... There are a few positives....in that we almost beat a great ODI team.......we have Akhtar coming to form............We seem to have some depth in our bowling.......even though I think Asif needs more time away to get his form and speed back. There are a few other positives....like YK and M.Y form......our captain's gaining experience........ The team still seem to have a good bound....

...but our fans base is sooooo stubborn that they don't want to listen to him at all!

I mean, Misbah is forgiven for not winning us two T20 matches vs India (including the final)......Kamran can drop as many catches as he wants - including today's,...... Openers can be forgiven for their constant failures but.......but Afridi can not bat the way he has batted for 11 years! We lived happly with Inzi's poor running between the wickets....but why we can not live with Afridi's weekness and enjoy whatever he does - whenever does....even if it come every 7/8 matches?

nah, I dont get bitter over cricket matches. And in recent times Afridi has been Pathan's buuny. So would prefer him in the team against India as he is no threat wiotht eh bat and ball against us. P.S. you can bump this thread if Afridi proves me wrong
