Has the potential to be Match of the tournament.

Both underperforming teams clash and it is inevitable that one has to come out victorious.

Can't wait for this match to start.

So what team changes for this game?
 
Pakistan's playing 11 vs Sri Lanka?

Having beaten England, it is time to carry on this momentum and turn focus to Sri Lanka and bag another 2 points, but who do we pick?
 
In terms of upsets, Pakistan may get a taste of its own medicine here. I think Sri Lanka will win this (it wouldn't really be an upset).
 
Hasnain could be a good option as he can struggle SL with his pace.

In place of Amir or Hasan.
 
Play the same XI.

This combo is good.

Only change if needed is to replace Hasan with Hasnain/Shaheen.
 
Same team. Hoping Hasan finally takes a wicket and gets into rhythm against a comparatively weaker team.
 
pick the same team.... its a shame that Faheem never prospered.... A fast bowling all-rounder balances the team so well.
 
Keep the same 11 for next match. In later stage of the world cup, I would like to see something like this:

Same team will do. The boys are probably feeling very confident right now Inshallah we'll beat them with runs/wickets to spare and get that net runrate up.
 
We’re obviously winning. The important thing is to be ruthless and absolutely demolish Sri Lanka so we we get that NRR back up. Expecting a 10 wicket win if we bowl first or a 150+ run win if we bat first. Sri Lanka are the worst team in this world cup.

See it'll be interesting to see how SL play tomorrow and then predict the Pak. match.
 
This match-up nearly gave me a heart attack in the CT. For once I would like a match that I can walk away from not having to worry about things going wrong.
 
Pak Should Win this game. We cant afford to lose this game so important of taking points on board.

That team was a lot stronger. They even beat India.
 
In Bristol, there is about 50% chance of rain during thar afternoon, so who knows what effect that will have on the game. If there is a loss in overs, just hope Sarfraz tells Fakhar, he might need his T20 game on Friday, sorry I meant his pathano walay shots. :sarf2
 
We have momentum and confidence now. Should be an easy victory, InshaAllah.

I hope Hasan can take 3/4 wickets.
 
It’s a must win for Pakistan if we want any chance too qualify

Am predicting Pakistan need too win 6 matches to qualify

Cause I can’t see any team winning more then 7
 
Not sure of Malik’s role in the team.

He cant slog so not an ideal number 6.

He dont normally bowl more than 3-4 overs.

Might as well give Imad a go.

Absolute worst mentality.

It wont be an easy game . This is the World Cup,Sri Lanka won't go down easy. But I expect Pakistan to win.

He said easiest game of the WC and rightly so. It will be the easiest (competition wise).
 
In terms of the approach I feel we should pick an attack which can constrict the SL batting lineup then pick up wickets due to the pressure being built. What will go against us is choosing bowlers that would give freedom for the SL batsmen to free their arms and hit the ball everywhere for 4's. I sort of feel that we should pay more attention to our spin options and look to castle their batsmen, that's just what I think.
 
Won't be an easy game. Do not underestimate SL. They might not be performing but they do have some batsmen who can absolutely rip you apart. Pak is good enough to get over the line though. Fakhar, Shadab, Amir and Hafeez will be key

Despite Pakistan's win today, Pakistan should not be complacent and treat each game as a do or die match. The worst mistake Pakistan can make is to under estimate their opponent.

Players like Matthews and Mendis are dangerous. I am not going to call this an easy game.
 
So a wash out in this game. Would mean a potential win for Pakistan off the table.

If it does wash out, that would mean that Pakistan will need to beat Afghanistan, Bangladesh + any two teams out of India, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa to qualify.

How badly will pakistan be affected by this??
Coz 1 point should be enough right?
 
I only want a washout if by any chance we are losing.

Otherwise this is the one game i have been hopeful of winning from the start.Dont want just one point out of this unless we mess it up really badly and are headed towards a loss,in which case i will welcome the rain.
 
Don't rate this team any higher than I did before we played England and I don't see a point in being over confident about next game.
 
I think we should win. Sri Lanka are the worst team in the tournament. And I feel today's win would have really boosted the boys. I play club cricket too and my team lost game after game that I became part of the losing culture and after a loss you just really don't even care. Last saturday my team lost, but it was an extremely game and now I'm actually feeling hungry again and looking forward to my next cricket matches believing we can win. I think Pakistan morale will be very high after today. Rain may play a part, if we win the toss we should field first cos D/L may come into play.

Just checked the forecast again and unfortunately the probability of rain has risen from 62% to 78%.
90% chance of a complete washout.

Lets not forget that SL Chased 320 or so against India in CT. They have some talented players and if they chase i wouln't rule them out.

Let’s see how Srilanka Plays against Afghan tomorrow. Pak should plan accordingly and play with the same intensity!

Thats bad for Pak. 1 point is same as 0 point because all teams that will compete with Pak for Semi is favorite against SRL, i.e WI, NZ, BAN, RSA.

Exactly. Our fanbase is too busy doing banghra over today instead of worrying about the upcoming games.
 
Bring in Hasnain for Hasan. SL will struggle against the pace, and it's also a relatively safe game to give Hasnain a shot in. We should aim to smash them and up our net RR.
 
Respect to Sri Lanka. They will come hard, irrespective of what happens today against Afghanistan.

Complacency will make sure we surrender two points here.

Apparently he's very good with calming guys down etc. But not sure if we can afford to play a non entity with the bat.
 
Imam and Malik shouldn't play. This would be my lineup:

1. Fakhar Zaman
2. Babar Azam
3. Haris Sohail
4. Hafeez
5. Sarfaraz
6. Asif Ali
7. Imad Wasim
8. Shadab Khan
9. Wahab Riaz
10. Hasnain
11. Amir
 
It will have been a pointless exercise beating england IF we lose to SL!
Must be focused as much as we were for the england game, dont be complacent!
Stick with same team that beat england.
 
This should be an easy win for Pakistan. Sri Lanka have been struggling in recent times and they don't have batting or bowling to trouble Pakistan at the moment.

Other teams don't trouble Pakistan. Pakistan trouble itself. You never know with Pakistan
 
It looks like a washout as off now I hope we get the full game but not looking good on weather part.
 
Should not be overconfident at all. Have to go with the same intensity every match.

The last 2 matches have shown how open this WC really is.
