Just started watching the game, have been tracking it on cricinfo. But why would we play 3 pacers? Seriously what the hell?
 
before misyou they were like eveb if we fail misbal and yk will stabilize the ship without taking responsibility on themselves which shows now

Hate to say it but I think we might need to bring in Shehzad back for UAE tests

Ofcourse he'll fail like no tomorrow outside UAE but its not like our other superhero openers contribute much either

If Shehzad scores some runs in 1st innings of UAE tests then its worth to bring him back
 
Shan massod, Baba Azam, Asad Shafiq and Sami Aslam make our top order. Among them Sami Aslam is a newbie and deserves more time. Babar Azam is supposed to be special bug hasn't been any special in tests.

Shannon Massod has to go for good, no doubt. And Asad Shafiq should be rested for a while and new youngsters should be given a chance.

New players have always come good instead of the old ones. Like Abbas, hassan and Haris
 
This is so tough for Pakistan. It's just so easy for a clump of wickets to fall. This game feels like the one you lost in WI earlier in the year.

The top order needed to change their approach here instead of blocking till they got one that was too good.

Fawad still justifies his selection, can easily be better bat then Asad or Baber.

I support resting Shafiq for a while and bringing in Fawad.
 
Sami Aslam should nowhere near be the side. He's just not good enough. If we wanted to block all the deliveries then we can put a night watchman in instead of him. Babar needs to be dropped to get a wake up call. Clearly just cruising along.
 
Asad Shafiq needs to be dropped for good. Considering this is a home Test, I hope Pakistan calls Fawad Alam.

big fawad fan here but as per many people including Saj it seems he's past his best now and has lost interest/motivation
 
We saw in the CT match Sri Lanka start to lose their heads under pressure. If these two can take it close then I back us to come on top. When I say close I mean this partnership needs another 70 runs at least.

but what makes it worse is that its a UAE test rather than away

He's not past his best. Even if he his, he's probably past his best by the standards he's set for himself but he's still better than a lot of the losers we have.

And yes, he has lost motivation. Who wouldn't?

He has a cowardly approach to batting. Should be nowhere near the side until he learns to attack.

I still don't understand why Sarfaraz didn't come up the order and bat at 1 or 2 down.

He attacking approach is what was needed vs. the spinners.

Maybe because he thought openers would do their job for once.
 
Sarfaraz, Hasan and Haris are the only hopes now.

I don't know why Pakistan doesn't ask Hasan to focus more on his batting. He is an extremely clean hitter and has real talent to be a very good batsman in the lower order.

Most of the guys have played enuff to know that, most of PPers have witness this to know that .
But why it cant be implemented is beyond me .
 
The intent question is ridiculous. How can you accelerate when you don't have the talent to do so? Game lost at selection. Choosing idiots in the lineup is always going to lead to this.
 
Is it so difficult to bat or are they making it look bad?

The reason why we will lose this match are:
1) Terrible team selection. How do you not play 2 spinners in UAE (heck even an A/R for that matter - Haris and Shafiq arent A/Rs) is beyond me?

2) Poor transition post-MisYou. 3 of the top 6 are either making a return or in their debut match. Of the remaining 3, one is in his 9th match and has flattered to deceive, whereas the other one has been out of form for ages.

That Pakistan didn’t play extra spinner should not be brushed under the carpet, Micky even defended this strategy, should be held responsible for this, so much for him being experienced.
 
People bash Hafeez here to every extent possible but the fact is that Hafeez has been our best player overall in UAE since we moved there.
 
I like the positiveness of these two batsmen.

These two still have a lot of work to do to take us home here!

This Abu Dhabi is the worst out of the 3 test venues they hv in UAE. If it was a two test match, it Wd hv been better to play them in Dubai and Sharjah but I think they chose Abu Dhabi over Dubai just to save some bucks as Dubai is slightly relatively costlier than the other two Emirates. My guess
