On the other hand Shan Masood and Abid Ali arent exactly 120 SR players as well. So who should replace a guy with avg of 53 and SR of 80 as the options available cant average 50+ and I doubt can play at a SR of 100+ as openers consistently. Not to forget Imam is 23 while Shan and Abid are 30+.

Abid Ali deserves more chances. It was unjust for a man who scored a ton against Australia on debut and then to be treated like the way he did was quite frankly disgraceful. He was only given 3 ODIs before the WC. I'm not saying he's definitely good enough to make the XI but he deserves a proper chance.

Another potential replacement is Sharjeel Khan who was an asset for Pakistan (prior to his ban).

Today PAK is failing to post 300+ only because of the slow start in PP. also, openers need to convert, which Babar can do. On 300 per tracks, and in current playing condition many openers can manage a 40/75 sort of stats - need more punch at the top.

306 - should be enough, unless it feed heavily. These type of wickets gets ideal for batting with a little sprinkling. PAK need to cash on new ball, otherwise under dew two semi old balls will come nicely on bat. Ifthekhar looks to be settled for 2023 WC - need to bowl lot then.

Pradeep is the mainstream Srilankan pacer in ODIs. Iftikhar hit some pretty good bowlers in PSL for sixes as well, highlights are easily available.

Iftikhar can bowl as well and can play as a innings builder as well (He has got 11 FC 100s for a reason). Asif Ali cant provide inning stabilization when required and doesnt ball as well however he should be in the radar and should play T20s.
