Lives on the back of that odd 100 under pressure that distracts from the 10 failures immediately before and after that hundred that leads his fanboys to portray him as the second coming of Miandad. Someone rightly pointed out that Shafiq's tally, over any randomly selected sample of ten to fifteen consecutive test innings reads 0, 7, 41, 22, 120, 18, 21, 72, 11, 6.

Asad Shafiq, Hafeez, Khurram and Shezad are just too painful to watch. No technique and no confidence in scoring. No reliability on them to pull off a big one unless it is a meaningless match. Must bring in new blood.

Needs to put numbers on the board. I'm not a fan of either but where Shafiq is almost a TTF, Sarfraz can still undo the damage done to his reputation by his early failures given how little and infrequently he plays. Who knows, might just turn out to be a good addition to the team after all.
