Pakistan vs Sri Lanka | 2nd Test | Dubai | Oct 6-10, 2017 | Day 4

I dont know what Asad is waiting for, we are going to lose this Test match. They might as well try and get it over and done with quickly instead of wasting everyone's time by blocking his way to a 200 ball 20
 
So for Pakistan to have a chance of winning, these two must put on a partnership of 200+

good luck with that
 
So these two have added 25 in 6 overs (4 RPO) with risk free cricket but others have this idea that blocking will get us runs and preserve us wickets.
 
I remember Sarfraz telling "I should have come earlier in the 2nd innings" . He could have done the same here couldn't he?
 
I heard in a parallel universe these two scored a 200runs partnership. What will they do in this universe?

It boils down to the skill at the end of the day. Some of our batsmen ain’t skilful enough to rotate strike which is what causes their downfal.
 
Will be a tight slap on the faces of folks if both these players play meaningful innings
 
Ever since Sarf pulled off that stunner to dismiss the batsman off Wahab's bowling, he has looked up for it and its pretty charged up
 
Top order should have showed some Intent in beginning of chasing. Enjoy a few aggressive shots from these ..

It’s a gone case now. Should hv come in place of Harris to have us a shot at it.
 
Look at the optimism. Even a mini 30-40 run partnership makes people believe there is a chance of overhauling the target. I love Pakistan.

Shafiq and YK had a double century partnerships against SA after we were reduced to 23-4.

Also more recently against Aussie our tailenders batted in excess of 200 runs to bring us to withiin 50 runs of defeat. This is being really optimistic but it has happened before too.

We have to risk it since we are losing the series either way
 
Pakistan would be ruining there chance to win the first test , that was much easier chase.
 
Shafiq playing well , lets hope he gets a big one here. There is spin in the pitch but manageable.

you never know Pakistan are masters of unpredictiblity
they can win from losing position
at the same time they tend to loose from winning position

The pitches were not same.

It would require good amount of luck here
 
Is he being little cocky ? Exposing all 3 stumps. IF he fires in one at the base of the stumps like seam up delivery?
 
Must have to say Chandimal has impressed me - he could have easily settled on Herath bowling for 89 overs from one end once he had 500 & a 1-0 lead; but the guy is using his limited attack brilliantly. Out of 15, he has got 6 from his pacers on this track & some of those from top order.

That should have been the approach at the start - you don't chase 200+ in 4th innings at 1.70 rate. Can't criticize him because he is great at what he is good at, but putting Azhar at 3 will result in making 170 targets like 256.

indeed. I just want to see a fight..dont care if we lose..we need shafiq and sarfi to hit some big runs..need belief.
 
DP offie who took 3 wickets in the first innings so chandimal used him very well in the second innings too.He Found the right Length which bother all batsman.

I think Azhar's wicket was full credit to captain, who place Fielder at odd position which Azhar failed to figures out.

Good Luck Pakistan and Imam for 5 ODI coming up from Oct 13.
 
Still is tough, need to keep scoring. Only way to win is to get runs. Don't have to score every ball though. Plenty of time left.
 
Good positive 50 runs partnership. This is what were all waiting to see. Bad ball put away for four. Strike rotation. Good defense :)
 
These two are making it seem like Dubai pitch while others made it seem like Durban pitch

Pakistan is the one team where you really can't say anything.

These two could take it within 30 runs and then Pakistan could still lose.
 
IF the target gets less than 150 and these two are still on the crease. Pakistan would be favourites.

Bowlers aren't so bad at batting. It's not like Gamage and Pradeep.

Most teams will be favourites to get 100 with last 5. Imagine England 5 down with 100 needed for example?

Bigger thing is that both are set and nothing alarming happening, so not totally ridiculous to think they can get 50 or 60 more.

Actually need only 35 each from Amir, Yasir, and Wahab. 100 from other side, and the rest from Abbas.

Not even taking account how long Shafiq/Sarfraz partnership lasts.

A bit too early for a comment like this. We're still struggling against spin and 211 runs behind.
 
Chandimal's field placing will not get him any wickets. Not enough close in fielders. It should be inside out field setting.

It would have been a tight slap if cuptaan aggressive would have promoted himself in the batting order like he said he would, instead of hiding behind rookies. These are soft runs, only delaying the inevitable.
