I really want Yasir to surprise me with his bowling, but he really isn't growing on me. Generally speaking, I don't like to be proven wrong but Yasir is one player I would love to have a humble pie for, because I really like his character.

However, purely as a bowler, I don't believe he is anything more than decent and looks pretty ordinary on flack decks, because as a leg spinner, he can't contain if there isn't much purchase in the wicket. Seems to be good on day 4 and day 5 of Test matches only, and has a lot to prove in the first 2 innings.

People definitely overrate his bowling ability because of Warne's infatuation.

Because he has 375 runs to play with and they're playing with no intent to win the game. You've got to be proactive here and force the issue. If you spread out the field like he has, it's easy singles which is what they want. Just some batting practice.

People talk about our batsmen doing well on the super flat home pitches but our bowling is not good enough anymore to restrict the good batting units to anything less than 300 on these surfaces. We were able to do so in UAE because the pitches are slower and Ajmal was chucking, but in Pakistan we have neither of those luxuries.

I really don't see us beating Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India and perhaps even Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in Limited Overs on these surfaces.

Our issue is we don't have bowlers who can utilize new ball (swing new ball). Also, now we don't have Ajmal, who use to come in the middle to stop run flow and take wickets.

I see opening bowling issue might be resolved when Amir is back, but still don't know who will share new ball with him.

Secondly, we need a good regular spinner for middle overs.
