Damn, missed a ton but very very good innings.

Akmal now please, its his first game at home.

Two all-time great Pakistani all-rounders at the crease, not something you see often.

Kids !! This is how you actually make players and prep them for international tours abroad.

You play at home, in favorable conditions in front of a pumped up home crowd and then build your confidence as a player to perform away from home. This is the advantage of actual home games that is stressed so much by international players representing Pakistan at the highest level. Those that actually play at the highest level can only tell that there is massive difference between playing at home and playing aboard (aka neutral venue) and on a rational note I might take the word of people doing this for a living than someone doing keyboard firing on an online discussion board.

Please stop commenting !!! for those people who are claiming that home matches are similar to matches in UAE since the records are similar in both areas. Arrogance of the crux for this argument lies in the fact that home matches bring the individual brilliance and inspirational performances from members of the team. The stars of yesterday became national heroes by winning games in front of their own people and only after gaining relevant confidence did they compete overseas.

Plus home matches bring sponsors and other commercial value to the sports which cannot be available if we play on neutral venues plus adding to this the up coming cricketers seeing international stars in the flesh motivates them to break into the senior team creating competitive domestic structure as well.

Only a thick headed person would actually believe that it doesn't matter whether we play at UAE or Pakistan

So pathetic to see malik in at no. 4!

Akmal was by far the best batsman in the super 8's and that was primarily because of him batting at the no. 4 position.

Once again, management misusing Akmal and not untilising him properly.

and he has the right to complain as well as he never gets to bat in the position he prefers...

the boundaries are pulled in a good 10m it seems

Definitely, we all witnessed what he did in his favoured position and was carrying the Lions team all by himself.

Hafeez should be benched in the next match for Nauman esp if he's not going to bowl

Only a thick person would believe that playing at home doesn't have commercial advantages and is not good for the well-being of the people because they get to see the players play live, that's a given. It is also financially better for the board and the morale of the players.

However, as far as on-field results are concerned, moving to the UAE has made no difference at all. We have carried our Test and ODI form from Pakistan into UAE, and blaming UAE for our mediocrity is ignoring the elephant in the room.

We might be better at home going forward from now, but the results of the last few years have not been hampered by playing in the UAE, they have been poor because our team has not been good enough. As simple as that.

We don't have individual brilliance because we don't have brilliant players, nothing to do with not playing in Pakistan.

It's funny how not playing in Pakistan hasn't negatively impacted us in Tests but has in Limited Overs? Why? Because it hasn't affected us the on-field results at all.

It is pure delusion and ignorance to believe that our results would have been better had we played in Pakistan instead of UAE. That's the whole point.
