Mukhtar Ahmed has shown nothing to suggest that he is a hack. He's been slogging it because that is what you do in T20s. He has decent/good averages in FC and List A cricket and is only 23.

Can't believe this is his actual age

Malik and Bhatti should be replaced by Nauman and Hammad in next match

You can't have mediocre or part time leg spinners. Even good leg spinners miss their line, length and sometimes both, how can you have part timers bowling leggies ?

This feels bittersweet because the joy of watching cricket at home, seeing a full Gaddafi and this crowd cheering everything, it just reminds me what we can't have constantly and what we'll never have on the crap pitches of the UAE.

It's a joy to watch cricket at Gaddafi and have this crowd and what it does for our batsmen.

Going to be tough to go back to watching us play in UAE.

Only bad thing is the world will not see the talent of Nauman Anwar next gae :(

Still Id drop Shehzad for him regardless of score...

So you are saying pakistani players' individual records in Pakistan Are poor?

For the last 10-15 years of playing in Pakistan, we haven't made good use of home advantage like other teams. From 2003 to 2009, the only decent team we beat in Pakistan in ODIs has been England.

UAE hasn't affected our results at all in any format. We carried forward our poor ODI form and decent Test form from Pakistan to UAE and have not been hampered by playing in UAE in any way, no matter how much people stress upon on this myth and keep parroting it.

Well that is surprising because from my memory Imran Khan bowling average was under 20 at home and Miandad batting average was 60+. One had 163 wickets at home and the other one had 4400+ runs so thats good enough as home record

Mukhtar so far has done nothing wrong. No edges, middling everything, great power and timing. All those shafting him for slogging deserve to see Umar "classy" Amin to open for Pakistan.

Great batting by Pakistan.

They should be able to chase this down, still have a lot to bat.

Shehzad's haters will never give him credit for playing well here. I bet if he had failed, they would have destroyed him. Pathetic people.

Shehzaad cashing in but he wont always get this luxury of taking his time

Our record in Pakistan in ODIs has been poor against the big teams in the last 5-6 years. Historically we have had a good home record.

No, Afridi said in an interview that he is going to use all of the 15 in the squad since there is 2 T20 matches.

Shehzad had it easy out there, pie bowling and Mukhtar taking off all the pressure. Still I'd say a pretty decent innings by his standards, but bad for Pakistan cricket in the long-term nonetheless.

Our ODI records have been poor since we started playing in UAE after 2009 it's totally opposite to our Test record in UAE

Very impressed with mukthars inns so far, hes played some good shots but also showing a level head.

Pak 109/0 after 10 overs

we should cruise to victory here.

It has been poor before UAE as well. We lost our last ODI series in Pakistan to Sri Lanka and lost to South Africa and India as well, but did some minnow bashing of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in between.

Couldn't even make the Asia Cup final in 2008.

We have carried our form in both formats to UAE, we were doing well in Tests in Pakistan as well.

he has his issues but he is not as bad a bat as u make him out to be. Calling him wast is a joke

All I learned from this match is that Pakistanis spend their days on the mobile phone while drinking juice and wearing chappals.

Clearly, it's Mukhtar, who gave a good start in this chase and momentum is with us. Shezzy is useless as always.

He is a not cut for modern-day Limited Overs cricket, SR of 73 in ODIs says it all. Don't be fooled with one innings against insipid bowling with his partner doing all the hard work.

We did lose to India and SA but if i remember correctly we won against Windies and England at home before that but well that team was different and before inzi retired

Why r u rating Mukhtar then? I m well aware that these r the most favourable conditions to bat in but still calling him Wasti is overdoing it

Not rating Mukhtar, I'll reserve my judgement up until I see him up against quality bowling. With Shehzad, I've seen enough over the years that he is not suited to modern-day ODI and T20 cricket.

One cannot say, maybe if Pakistan is in a tighter situation in the next match.
