This picture doing the rounds on the social media and could have been photoshopped but if true, heads need to roll.

My goodness! I thought it's some other city in China, didn't know this was actually Beijing misspelled as begging. Even the name is Urdu was spelled wrongly.

It looks like a deliberate mistake, 'i' and 'j' are quite apart from 'g' on any keyboard/keypad and besides who doesn't know Bejing? Those covering his China visit at least should have known the name of the Chinese capital. May be some harsh critic of Imran took this opportunity to malign him and his government. There needs to be accountability for this slip, if I am not wrong PTV is the state broadcaster like India's Doordarshan which makes the blunder look even worse.

It could easily be a genuine mistake. PTV may not be that professional, if you ever saw the rubbish the Pakistani film industry produces, you might realise it could just be ignorance. Personally I think it could be photoshopped as suggested in the OP but nothing would surprise me with Pakistani tv.

To be fair, they might have spelled Beijing incorrectly and then "fixed" it by clicking on the computer-generated suggestion without looking.

It was done on purpose as a lot of people see it as "begging" and have been going round celebrating it openly on SM and everywhere else.

An Indian news reader once referring to Chinese President Xi Jinping as "Eleven" Jinping lol.

This one from a while back is also funny - the Czech PM was visiting Pakistan and to welcome him they put up a check racing flag instead of a Czech national flag.

With foreign visits, these things happen.

Nah, its just a direct urdu to english kind of where they confused "Jah" with "Ga"

Exactly. Like when doordarshan anchor called the chinese premier Eleven Jinping to make the the modi govt look bad.

They did it deliberately to malign IK and the PTI no doubt about it. That it came up during IK's speech is no coincidence.

I agree, this seems like an auto-correct error that's being turned into a big deal. Someone forgot to type an 'i' and Bejjing turned into Begging!

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government has ordered for immediate removal of Arshad Khan from the post of Managing Director (MD) of Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) after the state-run news channel was involved in a major goof-up during Prime Minister Imran Khan's recent visit to China.

PTV news channel spelled the dateline "Beijing" as "Begging" on the top left corner of the screen during the live broadcast of Mr Khan's speech in China.

The typo continued to remain visible on-screen for around 20 seconds and became a target of trolling by netizens.

Mr Khan was on his maiden visit to China from November 2 to 5 at the invitation of the Chinese leadership.

Good decision...

They seem to have a closer eye on our country and her current affairs than ourselves. Weird.

They seem to have got the name wrong, but the news is accurate.

‘Begging in Beijing’ Costs MD PTV His Job

The Federal Government, on Tuesday, removed the Managing Director (MD) of Pakistan Television less than 15 days after his appointment.

Col. (retd) Hassan Immad Mohammadi, who was appointed on the post on October 22, was removed for a 20-second mistake that eventually proved to be too costly both for the government and the MD.

The notification mentions that the decision of Hassan’s removal was taken after approval from the Federal Minister for Information, Fawad Chaudhry.

I wrote an email to Dawn about Indian trolls on their websites. I never expected a reply and didnt get one. The Indians are obsessed with PK instead of Modis corruption- maybe they too are looking for an honest leader.

I used to visit these new websites and also have a cursory look at the comments section. They are all filled with Indians trolling away on any news related to Pakistan. Often my comment in response to them would be moderated but theirs would stay. Wonder who these news agencies are loyal to.

Just look at any comments on CPEC and you quickly see whose comments are top rated- yes Indians making comments and other Indians liking them. Dawn shows its true colours!!

He's sacked! Good job. I am not buying this being a mistake for a minute.

Modi is communal, don't know.anything about corruption unless you have some facts to share?

Unless there is solid proof that this was some sort of conspiracy to defame the PM, it is an extreme overreaction to remove the MD for something like this.
