Multan retentions horrendous also considering they have the second last pick in the platinum
 
Very stupid to retain Usama in the platinum, the guy happily plays for £50k anywhere in the world, you could have retained him for peanuts and he wouldn’t say a word.
 
What if the OS signed in Platinum leave the PSL for some crazy offer from IPL on crash 💸 basis , would not that leave the franchise in jeopardy .

Source “has said that Peshawar Zalmi has threatened many players regarding retaining them and Fakhta has said that Muhammad Haris and Saim Ayub wanted to leave Peshawar Zalmi but due to some reasons both players were forcibly retained... PSL management is asking all the players whether they were talked to, were they retained of their own free will or were they forced to do so, players playing for the Test team will be asked for this after reaching the hotel”

Your the one dreaming about this and that, I’m talking reality. So you dont pick a player in the platinum because you are afraid he might run away to IPL?

“Hey guys lets not pick Finn Allen as IPL will come in for him. Let’s pick James Fuller instead because we know no one will come for him”.
 
Any update in whether Sharjeel Khan & Asif Ali are part of any PSL team, surely these players are worth their value in gold.

Is there any special category for such stars.

Platinum, Diamond, Gold & Silver how about a Copper category or Arsenic Category fits well on Imad Wasim and Iftikhar Ahmed

How can franchises hold players against their wills? That's preposterous. What kind of dressing room environment you want to create?

They had this issue in QG

Naseem Shah wanted to leave the season before he left, but they convinced him somehow for 1 season.

What drama is this with PCB? Nothing ever goes according to plan. Now reports are coming that the draft will happen in Lahore. I'm really fed up with PCB.

Not logistically possible to do the draft in Quetta/Gwadar
 
Some interesting retention picks. My thoughts:

Lahore - Wiese seems like a token/loyalty pick but at least its silver category. Still a good bowling attack but need good middle order batsmen

Islamabad - Letting Faheem go is a surprise. Choosing to retain someone like Salman over him is surprising. Core is good though and there's plenty of allrounders in the squad and seem to have the batsmen for the middle order. Top order and fast bowling will be a big need in the draft.

Karachi - Oh thank god Malik is gone. 3 platinum picks available which is great and there's plenty of talent available this time around. Vince & Hasan Ali retentions are questionable. I'm not sure if they knew before hand players like Jamal/Abbas/Faheem/Hasnain etc would end up being available. Vince was bad last season but generally been good so maybe he bounces back. No Nawaz being kept is great and opens up room for Minhas to play. If he gets a proper chance, he has a big chance to be that big breakout pick of the PSL. Tim Seifert at silver as a WK is really good value. If Karachi drafts well for once, they might have actually a good team. Big need will be finding a hard hitting opener & fast bowlers - there are some unexpected players available with Hasnain/Abbas/Jamal/Faheem and I think they need to find a way to get some of those guys, in particular Hasnain & Abbas.

Peshawar - Top order is great. Got all the spinners they need too. No WK, fast bowlers & middle order. The core is solid but they'll need a good draft to round out the team. Very surprising they let go of Jamal and I am guessing Arshad Iqbal is injured or something? I think they should have kept Jamal. Let go of Haseebullah too.

Quetta - Hasnain not retained is surprising but outside of that, there's excellent value with their retentions. Akeal as gold is insane. They have their spinners, got some decent pacers in Amir & Wasim Jr. 3 platinum picks available too. Need some batsmen and pacers to round out the team but liking the look of Quetta so far. Nice to see Sarfraz being left out - potential landing spot for Haseebullah?

Multan - The most questionable retention selection IMO. I have no idea how you leave out a player like Abbas. Khushdil has been decent for them too. Ifti chacha retained with the form he's in right now - very questionable. They'll need some pacers & hard hitting opener.

Players pool available locally and foreign wise looks good so this should be a fun draft. Really hoping to see Karachi get good again for once, please. It's been so miserable to watch them last few years.
 
Retained Chris Jordan and released Abbas Afridi

Pure stupidity. Rizwan has been trying to snake Afridi for a long time. He was going to trade him and Faisal Akram for him to get Naseem into MS.

Abbas is one of Pakistan’s best T20 pace bowlers lol

How useless are these as T20 players?

Bro Saud isn’t too bad. I understand your vision of how you view rubbish and agree with it, but Saud is better than this lot when he plays free flow. He’s not afraid to go big in the powerplay.

I was surprised when PCB announced the draft was going to take place in Gwadar.It is obvious PCB management and planning is very poor.Why didn’t anyone look into logistics and security issues before choosing Gwadar?.

I read through the rules just now,

I can’t find anything about player’s consent for being retained. The only thing the franchises need consent for is downgrading their category.

Unless you can share anything which I have missed?
 
It will be interesting to see which emerging players are selected by each franchise.Pakistan needs to find a few good bowlers and a few good batsmen who could play for Pakistan.

I like Saud for Tests he seems like a top bloke who can do well there.

Just don’t think he has that extra gear for quick knocks in limited balls..
