[PICTURES] Is the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (2024-25) the final frontier for Virat Kohli's Test career?

It should be the final frontier now. Now point carrying a dead weight in the team. Time already ran out for virat long time ago.

If u see the first 3 dismissals there are very good balls and can hlget most batsmen out or missing it.later in all the dismissals, he went fishing and got out.he is simply not in right mind.hw should retire gracefully now

No those balls were bowled to other batsmen. THey didn't get out. Mark Waugh even told. That was the same ball bowled to Virat Kohli. I think it was reddy he swayed out. Virat Kohli goes with hard hands. Atleast he should go with soft hands so that ball falls short. Ball goes straight to hands because of this

Grace and Kohli? Never ever.

I don't think he wants to improve due to his ego.its an almost 11 years problem now.it means he suffered almost two thirds of his playing time.

It became a tactic 5 years back for opposition. HE invariably falls prey to that unless there is zero lateral movement.

No tests until England in July.

IPL in the middle - expect him and Gill and Rahul to become superheroes again averaging 40 and SR 120.

It's surprising that Virat Kohli is set to finish his Test career with an average well below 50. If he continues for another 1-2 years, it could drop to the mid-forties. This positions him far behind the ‘greats’ and even below players who were never part of that conversation. A remarkable decline.

Irfan Pathan, while chatting on a local sports media outlet:

"In 2024, in the first innings, where the match is set, Virat Kohli only averages 15. Over the last 5 years, he doesn't even average 30. Does the Indian team deserve this from a senior player? Instead of this, give a youngster consistent rope, even he can give an average of 25-30. It's not about an individual, it's about the team."

"We need to end superstar culture, we need team culture. You need to improve yourself and improve the Indian team. There were matches before this series, too, and they had an opportunity to play domestic cricket, but they didn't. We need to change that culture."

“When was the last time Virat Kohli played domestic cricket? It has been more than a decade. Even Sachin Tendulkar has played domestic cricket more recently, and he has retired."

“We are not degrading Virat Kohli. He has scored a lot of runs and played superbly for India, but you are repeating the same mistake again and again. Sunny sir (Sunil Gavaskar) has pointed it out, and he is here at the ground. How long does it take to come to Sunny sir and talk about that mistake? It takes hard work to rectify that mistake, and I didn't see any of that.”

Virat Kohli Wants To Play 2027 World Cup, In ‘No Mood To Retire’: Report

Virat Kohli is reportedly not thinking about retiring from cricket despite his struggles in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy and is instead aiming to play the 2027 ODI World Cup in Africa. A PTI report described him to be ‘in no mood’ to hang his boots just yet.

Kohli, 36, had one of his worst years in international cricket in 2024. In Tests, he just managed one century — in the second innings of the first BGT Test in Perth — while facing troubles to both spin in Indian conditions and pace abroad.

His movements looked to have slowed down further after Perth in BGT, which ended with 190 runs in nine innings at an average of 23.75. All of his eight dismissals came with his bat hanging outside the off-stump, against different bowlers and on varied lengths of deliveries.

It prompted big questions about the former captain’s importance in the side, alongside Rohit Sharma, who endured an even worse series, managing just 31 runs in five essays. India’s next Test assignment is in five months, a tour of England for the Anthony de Mello Trophy.

“Would be very hard for selectors to pick either Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli on the basis of IPL performance or form. There has to be some red-ball cricket for them in the lead-up to the England tour," a former selector told PTI.

God save us from curse of Kohli. Are we asking for too much?

I acknowledge the great insight of brother @FearlessRoar. He spoke the truth but Indian fans keep living in delusion. So moral of the story any further run for Kohli would be a disaster for India especially in overseas venues.

Kohlis decline mirrors Pontings and Azhar Ali's.
Pontings decline was nowhere near kohli. He still made runs just not like his previous best. And not struggle for like 5 years like kohli. Kohli is the biggest leech I've seen. Comparing Pontings last years with kohlis is a sin!
