[PICTURES] Shivam Dube - Next big all-rounder from India?

He might be a good powerhitter but India really missing a trick not playing Jaiswal who is a real talent. Jaiswal playing also means Kohli plays at his usual 3.
 
Why dube playing can't bat can't bowl can't field India not playing jaiswal because of useless dube
 
A loser IPL hero who might have a short-lived career in Bollywood. That's all his level is.

Just because he looks a bit like Yuvraj Singh doesn't count for anything. That way might as well pick the guy who acted as Yuvraj in the Dhoni movie :rabada2

Not good for India. Imo like Pakistan they didn't select their best possible squad and aren't playing their best XI to accommodate inferior players. Their batting is shaky and pretty thin given Rohit's form. Yesterday, they only got to 120 because of Pakistan's fielding and Pant's incredible luck. Bumrah alone can't win India every game, especially against the tougher teams. Jaiswal and Kuldeep for Dube and Jadeja will make this team a lot stronger.

True.

For long, Indian team hasn't been able to come out of Kohli's machinations, first as captain and then as a player.

That's why these 2 aren't a patch on our fab-4 who paved way for youngsters before inaugural T20 WC in 2007.
 
We are playing so many passengers for so long and frankly it's surprising that we are winning any matches.
 
He looked very nervous. But I think he didn't deserved to be in the team ahead of Rinku Singh. Rinku Singh got done bad.
 
Cow corner Dube is not international material. His footwork is poor, and he can't play a short ball to save his life.
He is only good at bashing spinners on flat IPL tracks. He always feels nervous against any half-decent pacer.

Premier Indian batter Virat Kohli is having a poor season of T20 World Cup. The veteran got out for a golden duck against United States on Wednesday, extending his poor run after being promoted as an opener in the mega-event. Kohli scored 1 against Ireland in Team India's campaign opener before getting dismissed for 4 against Pakistan. In the third game for India, Kohli was caught behing for a golden duck, his first in the history of an ICC tournament.

When asked about the senior batter's lack of form, his teammate Shivam Dube was quite positive while assessing the veteran's form.

"There is nothing I can say about Virat Kohli because I'm not Virat Kohli," said Dube as quoted by PTI.

"His bad patch means he got out cheaply a couple of times but will come back scoring hundreds in the next three matches. We all know his game and how he plays," Dube added.

Accustomed to batting on belters in India, big-hitting all-rounder Shivam Dube conceded that the two-paced tracks for the T20 World Cup matches in New York left him bamboozled to such an extent that it almost felt like playing a Ranji Trophy game.

The Chennai Super Kings star regained some form with a 35-ball 31 in the seven-wicket win over a fighting USA team that propelled India into the event's Super Eight stage on Wednesday. The World Cup would move entirely to the West Indies with the Super Eight games.

"I was struggling with my form and focusing on my process," Dube said about his successive failures against Ireland and Pakistan at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

"But here, there was no pressure. All the support staff and coaches backed me and told me, 'It's difficult, but you have the ability to hit sixes, so apply it.'

"I've never doubted myself for what I've done in the past. I just think that these conditions do not demand what I've done at CSK. These conditions require a different approach, so I was batting differently today," he added.

Former India fast bowler Sreesanth has called for the inclusion of wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson in India's playing XI in the 2024 T20 World Cup. However, instead of replacing first-choice wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, Sreesanth has suggested Samson being played as a pure batsman ahead of Shivam Dube. Sreesanth's advice comes with the criteria that, if Shivam Dube does not bowl, Team India might be better off picking a better batsman in Samson. In fact, Samson should be included as a finisher, said Sreesanth.

"If they (Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli) are opening, I don't see any reason to change the XI. Axar Patel is bowling well. If you look at Shivam Dube, yes, he hasn't played well in the first two games, but we know what he can do with the bat. But I would like to see one change, and that is Sanju Samson come in the team," Sreesanth told ANI.

"If Shivam Dube is not bowling, then Sanju (Samson) should be given an opportunity; we know he is good enough," said Sreesanth.

"I spoke to him the other day; he is hungry for an opportunity," he added. "He is also a Superman fielder," Sreesanth said.

Sreesanth and Samson both hail from the state of Kerala, in India.

Despite Samson usually batting at no. 3 in the IPL, Sreesanth suggested that he should be deployed as a finisher in the T20 World Cup.

"I feel Sanju comes in last along with Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. I think we can finish on a big score if we are chasing, with Virat being the chase master king. I don't see any score being that difficult for us to chase," said Sreesanth, a winner of the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

Dube played a crucial role in taking India to victory against the USA. Coming in to bat with India lying at 39-3, Dube and Suryakumar Yadav ensured India reach home safely, and qualify for the Super 8 stage.

I mean, it's crazy that the whole world can see this guy is a grade-A loser, but Rohit and Dravid can't. This is now just become an almost-ego decision. They don't even have the confidence to send him in his normal position and need to hide him behind Jadeja who himself has been struggling. This loser doesn't bowl. He doesn't even look like he has any confidence the way he was poking first ball. What is the point of all this. He makes me sick.

I dont even know what to say. I have never seen such a terrible performance in a world cup. He has done absolutely nothing other than one good innings. Apparently he is an all rounder - more like a no-rounder. Can't bat, Can't bowl, Can't field. It is miracle how the team has managed to reach final with him. It is an even bigger miracle that he somehow squirms his way out from the visceral reactions of the fan due to the victories.

Like I am stunned, i dont know what Rohit and Dravid see in him. He hasn't even done well in IPL to be selected on the basis on that. His footwork is close to null, his batting has been atrocious, his bowling - well.. he hasn't bowled a single ball which begs the question why players like Rinku Singh or Abhishek Sharma( he can also bowl part time) haven't been selected in the main squad.

At point he played like some of the worst wt20 innings i have seen

14 off 16 in warm up match vs Bang
3 off 9 against Pak
31 off 35 against US ( ok, this is average but still he could only bat after Surya settled)
10 off 7 against Afg (when Surya and Hardik were bashing)
34 off 24 (one or the two good innings)
28 off 22 (in a 200 pitch)
0 off 1 ( his other good innings since he didn't waste any balls)

In fact i promote him to GOAT status. I dont think any other player would have been selected if they had such performances


Do you guys think he has some dirt on higher ups?

Anyways can't wait for his performance in finals. 4 off 9 loading

He fits a role. He seems to have worked on his bowling. He was getting swing and seemed to even move it after pitching.

Shivam Dube is bowling the first over. He has only bowled 2 overs in the powerplay in the past in his T20I career.
 
India absolutely trolled Pakistan by opening the bowling with Dube in a big match like the Asia Cup final, and he actually lived up to the expectations.
Who would’ve imagined Dube starting the first over on such a big stage? Lol.:ROFLMAO:

CSK never used him for bowling lol i think just 20 overs all his career with CSK. That too not in power play.

Lol people are calling him mediocre. He is not really a super star with abundance of talent, but with just batting record of 29@138 he will be considered as the greatest batsman in Pakistan's history. There is no other t20 batsman in the past or present in pakistan who has a better record than that
 
I feel like he is always in a shell for some reason. We need a Dube 2.0 with Hardik Pandaya's mindset.
 
He got trolled when he came into Indian team initially as his game was pretty one dimensional and looked clueless. He has come a long way from that.
