Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu has stated that Virat Kohli doesn't need to play in the Ranji Trophy, and no one should pressure him into participating in the tournament.

Tbf, it is somewhat unfair. Kohli is in the same realm as Sachin, Pointing and Lara as odi batters.Jokes aside, whole world is making fun of the proclaimed "King" now
Damn bro. Are you Nostradamus or something?Pakistan team will help him gain his confidence back tomorrow.. ultimate smashing is on the cards
Had you been following Indo-Pak cricket during last decade or so, this was given.Damn bro. Are you Nostradamus or something?
Chill bro. Was just pulling his legs!Had you been following Indo-Pak cricket during last decade or so, this was given.
You don't need to be nostradamus for predicting this
Interesting.. He was scoring 100s for fun till the number 70 and suddenly switched off.Kohli's score after
71st century - 2(7)
72th century - 1(5)
73rd century - 4(9)
74th century - 4(9)
75th century - 4(9)
76th century - 4(7)
77th century - 3(12)
81st Century - 7(8)
Today - 11(14)
Even though others bottled it against the teams you mentioned, Kohli led the team to the final. If Pakistan of Australia had one decent spinner he wouldn't have scored anything in those matches either.
True that he contributed but we won those matches easily and had batting to spare.Even though others bottled it against the teams you mentioned, Kohli led the team to the final.
Without Kohli and Iyer’s performances in tough situations during those matches, we would have lost.
Kohli won multiple ICC trophies and performed in several crunch games. Finals are part of the event, but not the one and only game. Not quite what this legend would have wanted in his plans.

He played match winning knocks in 2 ICC tournament finals, being the highest scorer in the 2013 CT final and the 2022 T20 WC final.Kohli won multiple ICC trophies and performed in several crunch games. Finals are part of the event, but not the one and only game.
Winning trophies is byond stats.
I second you. I do not understand why a semis( kohli scored against AUS in semis) is a lesser impact knock considering unless you win in semis, no team can reach finals.Kohli won multiple ICC trophies and performed in several crunch games. Finals are part of the event, but not the one and only game.

He should retire from Test cricket and continue playing ODI cricket. He is super fit and a lot better than many others in the team for the ODI format.Whats next for king? I think he should retire from odi cricket along with Rohit.
He can play England test series .
Why on earth would he only play odi cricket in an era where odi cricket is dying and is hardly played? He should retire from Test cricket and continue playing ODI cricket. He is super fit and a lot better than many others in the team for the ODI format.
it’s club cricket, he retired from national duties.Virat Kohli playing his favorite format in T20s, gone after 31(30) against CSK.
The King form continues for King of India, gone for 7(6) against Gujrat Titans in IPL 2025Virat Kohli playing his favorite format in T20s, gone after 31(30) against CSK.
Naah. Kohli deserves credit for fostering this fitness culture in Indian cricket. Earlier Indian cricketers wer so unfit and slow. Now its a sea changeHe boasted about developing into a total gym rat from 2012 onwards and completely over hauling his diet from delicious tasty subcontinent oily rich food delicacies to extremely healthy food items and eliminating all unhealthy items, sugars etc. He boasted that this would allow him to perform at elite standards for a long time well into his late 30's and up to 40-42 years old. Let's be honest back then when he looked shredded, fit, lean, the speed of his running between the wickets, his speed in the outfield, the aggressive energy he showed in the field, all experts and analysts felt his ruthless fitness training and diet regime will easily help him stay at the very top and allow him to leave on his own terms at his own choosing at the age of 40-42.
However since Covid in 2020 to today, Kohlis batting form and quality declined astronomically, his test match batting average dropped from 54 to 46 and the selectors basically pressurized and pushed him to retire from the format. Similarly in the T20 format, his strike rate and consistency dropped and had it not been for Bhumrahs special in the T20 WC final, Kohlis knock would have turned out to be a match losing one.
Even in ODI Cricket he desperately wants to stay on and play the 2027 ODI WC in South Africa but let's be real, he is going to be 1-2 bad series before he will be pressurized to quit as well.
During his massive decline from 2020 onwards, his physical fitness has remained outstanding and unquestionable which begs the question what really was the benefit or faida of having this ruthless workout, training and diet regime if it didn't help him maintain the standards that he did in his prime ie early to mid 20's.
Tendulkar who was always a little chubby and wasn't exactly very disciplined with his fitness, training and diet habits actually got better and more consistent with the bat once he reached his mid 30's and early 40's.

Its very subjective topic honestly. So it proves that for a second wind in a career, you need more than just good fitness. Else, Kohli wouldn't have faded, Inzamam would have had a good 2003 WC etc.
