[PICTURES/VIDEOS] How long before the patience runs out with Mohammad Haris?

Does Mohammad Haris deserve any longer rope?

Which proves that it is about likes and dislikes for you. You are agenda driven, and that is why your views cannot be taken seriously.
Indeed.

I identify my players. I identify my goals. I back them to the very end. If there are better players than the ones who I backed for the same goal, then I will back those players to the grave.

There is a process. I will always trust the process.

Harris’s 20 odd against SA was a landmark innings

It was the innings that actually opened the eyes of brainwashed Pakistan cricket fans to show them,

‘yes, you do have players that can help you compete at world standards! Unlike the lie sold to us by RizBar or agencies’!

Thank you Harris!

I didn’t get the chance to watch the game live. I tried to catch a bit on my phone but got busy and ended up missing most of it, especially Haris’s batting. I just watched the highlights and noticed that Haris seemed to take his time to settle in, though I’m not even sure if that was the case. Maybe he was just swinging his bat and not connecting. Ideally, though, a batter who is struggling should take a bit of time to get their eye in before looking to accelerate later.

An inconsistent player never allows the captain to plan properly or know what to expect, regardless of the format. A lot of people go on and on about strike rates, modern cricket, and so on, but at the end of the day, cricket is simple: you play according to the situation, the pitch, the ground conditions, and the strengths of your team, then strategize accordingly.

I really hope Haris can carry this kind of performance into the game against India on Sunday, that’s the match I’d love to see Pakistan win. But at the same time, I have to say that Haris often plays low percentage shots. Sometimes they come off, but other times they don’t. A player like Haris can never truly be trusted. From what I see, he plays those “tullaybaaz” shots that simply don’t succeed consistently.

If he proves me wrong, I’ll take my hat off to him. But until he does, I’ll continue to believe that Haris will remain a hit or miss player. Today was just against Oman, anyone can score runs against a team like that. Especially for someone who has failed so often recently, it was only a matter of time before some runs came. Consistency, however, is what truly matters in cricket. That’s what helps a team succeed over the long run.

I’m sorry, but this is how I see it.

20 odd is a landmark innings and opened eyes of the fans 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Pakistani cricket fans in 2025, ladies and gentlemen. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

And please, no need to tag me in every second thread asking me the same question over and over. You can, of course, there’s nothing I can do about it, but it’s just childish. The better approach would be to try and act like an adult, even if that doesn’t come naturally to you.

What you can do is post responsibly

Not make up stuff like you did with Bishop.

Well performances against Oman are the standard now???

good for haris that he scored runs after like 13 games but really??? OMAN???

I watched the game. Babar would’ve had no chance as he can’t play spin to save his life and also because he has no power game.

Haris may a have a long way to go before he can seal his spot but give him some credit. No one else was able to score even half of the number of runs he scored in the game.

It was a match winning innings that was well beyond the Babar’s capability.

Stick to cricket and stop crying. Babar and Rizwan are not coming back to the side any time soon.

I don't recall Babar hitting that many sixes to a spinner in Dubai

Exactly. It’s very disappointing to read comments from agenda driven postees who will downplay this innings simply because he replaced one of their favourites.

He scored 66 off 44 balls. If it’s that easy then why was no one else from both sides able to cross 30?

Pakistani batting was definitely underwhelming in that game but if there was one player who was not with the bat, it was Haris.

Targeting him again means you have an agenda in mind.

I don't even bother to reply to trolls anymore. I recently learned about another troll. The more you give attention to these guys, the more they will get back at you.

Don’t think Haris can hit like this against a proper spinner. He was literally playing at lowest difficulty level in terms of quality of opposition.
He tried exactly same shots in recent matches. But it didn't pan out as expected. Even the one he slog sweeps here he didn't pick the ball that left him. Ball didn't have enough revs. It was floaty.

The quality of bowlers was one factor. He won't be facing such bowling against the top teams yet his chances of succeeding will be a lot lower.

I think he should be nominated for the Pride of Performance national award and inducted in the PCB HOF for this historic performance.

A half-century vs Oman after failing for 10 straight matches. Who can dream of doing that.
Agreed - see you can talk sense at times

💯- I was like wow, we do have players who follow the modern game.

This is also why give him so much rope. His schooling of the stat padders in this tournament was legendary.

It doesn’t get easier than Oman.

Everybody knew another flash in the pan performance was coming against the weak teams. It didn’t come against UAE but it came against Oman.

Folks hyping this performance up have got no clue.

You still need skill to hit a 43 year old with zero first class experience for six.

It is funny to see folks claim that Babar would not have been able to play the innings that Haris played vs Oman, when you can list at least 50 innings across formats that Babar has played that Haris cannot replicate in his dreams 🤡

Watching the highlights now. Good knock, swept the spinners well.

There were some off-side shots but most of his boundaries came from him clearing his front leg and smashing it through midwicket. Yet Oman just kept bowling fairly straight.

It's usually a rare feast followed by long famine with Haris, let's see how he fares against India who are usually very methodical with their planning.

You know times are desperate when you are celebrating 20s. My word.
That is all they have going for them, they cling to mediocrity just so they can keep the player they hate out of the team even if that player has more talent in his toe than Haris has overall.

Haris will never win an ICC player award , will never break records and will never be wisden cricketer of the year. These are all far out of his reach

Rizwan’s toe has more talent than Harris?

Very true. In search for gold we lost the diamond.

Not even excited for the game today....

Seems like Rizwan's presence is more important than the team's fortunes but this is to be expected from the Babar/Rizwan/Misbah cult.

I said it in 2019,

Rizwan fans are not Pakistan fans.

Some of those hypocrites will pretend they are. I see right through them.

I remember during the match threads we would be getting behind the team even with Misbah as coach and with Babar and Rizwan opening the batting.

I could see it was all bollox with Fakhar coming in after Rizwan and Babar….but I still gave this scam a fair chance. It eventually became too much to accept. None of it made sense.

Yup - that’s how bad and pusillanimous our bariz led batting was that it took a brave 28 runs to give us hope again.

Thanks for supporting my argument.

There is nothing to worry about - after today’s heroic 3, his average at #3 is now only 10 billion.

And where does today’s brave 3 runs rank in the history of Pakistan cricket? 🐸

Haris played a statement innings vs Oman. He showed he belongs at that level.

I am surprised Finn Allen ahem Haris didn’t score much today lol.

No need to pick Haris in the XI just to give catching practice to the opposition. If that’s the idea, we could just send him to their nets and help improve their fielding. The trouble with Haris batting at No. 3 is that whenever the first wicket falls, we are not just one down, we are effectively two down. His so called 360 shots usually end up skying straight to a fielder, making it the same story every time.

Good intent by Haris.

Only one of 1% Pakistani players who can play the modern game and win us ICC tournaments.

Don’t forget—Never judge quality modern batters on slow low rank turners.

It’s the ICC tournaments and good pitches where these kind of players make a HUGEEEE difference and exactly the kind who you want in your team.

Bring David Warner or Maxwell on these pitches and even they will struggle BIG TIME.

Haris
Saim
Fakhar (when on song)

These are the type of players for good pitches and ICC tournaments and they will absolutely smash the bowlers when it actually matters.

Likes of Rizwan are NOT AT ALL meant for ICC tournaments and they have always lost us matches on batting pitches.

David Warner was literally the high scorer last time there was a world tournament in UAE

These pitches speciallly in this Asia cup are horrendous for batting even the pacers are difficult to time and hit.

Not meant for proper hard hitting batters.

Watching Pakistan cricket these days feels like self punishment. Honestly, it’s a complete waste of time. With this coach, these selectors, this squad, and this playing XI, the only teams we can actually dominate are schoolboys and associate nations and even then, we’d probably find a way to make it dramatic.

The fans who were abusing players here and on twitter daily will get the worst wake up call of their lives when their favourite team becomes worse than minnow level. It is what they deserve

Babar/Rizwan made it minnow level and low ranked. It’s now a journey and struggle to recover.

The difference between beating some top quality teams along with Shaheen, when these three had their best game, Pakistan won. There is a reason these 3 are the only players to win ICC awards in recent history for Pakistan

Exactly! Pakistan cricket and the fans owe an apology to Rizwan and Babar, and they should be brought back immediately, even if it means faking a few injuries in the current squad to make space. Enough is enough. The players out there now look like rabbits caught in the headlights, completely clueless and out of their depth.

Shaheen showing in his quality here, like I said we have 3 genuinely top quality players left in Pakistan and only one of them is playing today. There are players who have X Factor then there is the trash we persist with in recent months

I have accepted Harris will play a impactful innings on good pitches here and there . Thats it . Either be happy with that or throw him out . I guess he should then bat as opener and not 3

Why did they bring him back to the top order? He is not a top order batter.

Sketchy little batter with a dodgy technique.

And then to get him to 3 they’re playing other guys out of position. Also batting first.
All of this to ‘utilize Haris in the powerplay’.

:facepalm

Imagine walking in as an opener knowing that the next guy in is Haris, what sort of a message is this sending to everybody- that we are a non-serious team and a non-serious board and a non-serious country.

We found Haris' level.... batting against the uncles of Oman 🤣
As soon as he faces any decent bowler he swings for the hills like a newbie who has never played cricket before!

We should pick all our batsmen from gully mohalla tape ball tournaments based solely on intent, who cares about ability, technique, timing etc. I am amazed at how so many posters here defend Haris consistently. Makes me wonder whether they don’t have any cricketing knowledge, or a bad eye for judging talent, or it’s all agenda based. Intent is a good thing but in the absence of talent and technique it means nothing. Anyone with even a little cricketing IQ will be able to tell that Haris doesn’t have what it takes to succeed at the highest level. The guy doesn’t pass the eye test. Comparing him to veritable greats of the game like Warner is downright insulting to those players. It’s been years and we have still been waiting for him to at least show some semblance of basic batting talent and IQ let alone “absolutely smash the bowlers”. I also don’t understand why Haris’ shortcomings are defended by listing Rizwan’s failings instead of highlighting his strengths and qualities, as if it’s a binary choice between them and there are no other players fit for the position in the country. Even if Rizwan is a limited and selfish player ill-suited to T20s how does that alone justify continuing with Haris without any accountability?

Our standards have sunk so low and for so long most have lost perspective of what a high performing international top order batter should look like.

I’m still fine on him getting chances. But I think he’s not a top order bat, has to be down the order. And I was thinking when we were a wicket down early he was probably the last person I’d want to walk into the crease. It’s like adding fuel to the fire. Our least reliable bat shouldn’t be batting at 3 where usually you’d want your most reliable batsman.
