‘PTI founder says no to any relief, vows to fight legal battle’
According to PTI leader Barrister Ali Zafar, Imran Khan is determined to take on the challenges ahead and will not back down from the case against him.
Zafar stated that the treatment meted out to PTI workers and leaders is unacceptable and the party will continue to raise its voice against injustice. He mentioned that the desire for a free Pakistan is a fundamental right of all citizens, and the party will not be silenced over the injustices.
The PTI leader also mentioned the growing polarization in Pakistan, which has now extended beyond politics into homes. He termed the increase in polarization to the lack of freedom and democracy in the country.
Zafar maintained that the PTI is a movement, not just a political party, and that its goal is to fight for justice and freedom. He said that the Imran Khan has always encouraged people to speak out against injustice and that this stance will continue to guide the party’s actions.
The development came at the time when Imran Khan decided to plea his case at the International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO), announced Aleema Khanum, the sister of the incarcerated former PM.
Talking to journalists outside Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan alleged that the PTI founder is being denied the right to communicate with his children. She further claimed, “He is not allowed to meet his doctor, and this treatment amounts to torture.”
Aleema claimed that ‘no court is willing to hear their petitions.’ “The PTI founder has said we have no other option left now,” she revealed.
Earlier, Khawaja Asif said that no offer given for shifting the PTI’s founder from jail to his Bani Galla residence. “It might be the wish of the PTI people but there is no truth in it,” defence minister said.

PTI negotiating team expected to meet Imran Khan in two days
A meeting between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) negotiating team and the party's founder, Imran Khan, is expected to take place within the next two days.
According to Express News, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq reached out to senior PTI leaders Asad Qaiser and Omar Ayub following a message from Omar Ayub about the ongoing negotiations between the PTI and the government.
Sources confirmed that Ayub had sent a message to Speaker Sadiq earlier today. In response, the Speaker engaged in discussions with PTI's negotiating committee about arranging a meeting with the party's founder.
Although Sadiq clarified that it was not his responsibility to facilitate a meeting with Imran Khan, he expressed his intention to help arrange the meeting between the two sides. "It was never my responsibility to arrange a meeting with the PTI founder, and it still isn't, but I will make efforts to ensure the negotiating committee meets him," Sadiq said.
The Speaker has also been in contact with government officials, and it is now likely that the PTI negotiating team will meet with Imran Khan in the coming two days. The PTI delegation plans to present their written demands after the meeting.
This development follows two rounds of talks between the government and PTI, with the third round scheduled for Wednesday.

Imran moves LHC for post-arrest bail in eight May 9 riots cases
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf incarcerated founding chairman Imran Khan on Saturday approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking post-arrest bail in eight cases of May 9 riots including an attack on the corps commander’s residence.
Eight separate bail petitions have been filed before the LHC in as many cases through Barrister Salman Safdar.
A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Aalia Neelum and Justice Asjad Javed Ghural will take up the petitions on Monday.
An anti-terrorism court had on Nov 27 denied bail to the former prime minister in these cases.
The petitions mainly argued that the prosecution failed to establish the petitioner’s association with the unfortunate occurrences narrated in the FIRs.
They said the petitioner has been implicated in the May 9 cases as a result of a well-orchestrated plan merely to harass and humiliate him for political reasons even though admittedly he was in the custody of the NAB.
The arrest of the petitioner was never required in the cases, which was evident from the fact that police remained reluctant to secure his arrest during five months and 12 days after the dismissal of his pre-arrest bail by the trial court.
The petitions alleged that the indifferent behaviour of police and lack of effort in securing the arrest of the petitioner at a time when he was detained at Adiala Jail, supplement the argument that arrest of the petitioner was not required in the cases.
The sole allegation against the petitioner in the cases is of “abetment”, which has been supplemented by the prosecution most vaguely, the pleas added.
They argued that the trial judge overlooked the fact that frivolous and baseless allegations related to the May 9 events have already been rejected due to inconsistencies in the story of the investigating agency.
Moreover, the trial judge also passed a lengthy order by ignoring the basic principle of the law of bail, laid down by the superior courts that “deeper appreciation of evidence should not be done at bail stage and only tentative assessment should be done.”
The petitions argued that Imran Khan has been facing an unprecedented political victimisation for two years. The May 9 cases are yet another effort by the state/police to implicate the petitioner in a criminal matter under the sole allegation of abetment, they added.
The petitions ask the LHC to set aside the trial court’s decision and grant bail to the former prime minister in the eight FIRs.
Denying bail to the PTI founding chairman, the ATC had declared that the charges of abetting and conspiring with the perpetrators of the May 9 riots against the petitioner were not ordinary in nature.
“The offences fall within the prohibitory clause of section 497 of CrPC. Petitioner was found guilty,” ATC-I Judge Manzer Ali Gill had observed in his order.
The judge had noted that the entire case of the prosecution revolved around the stance that due to the criminal conspiracy and abetment of the petitioner (Imran Khan), the PTI workers and other senior leadership committed the occurrence.
Therefore, he said, the argument of the petitioner’s counsel that his client was behind the bar at the time of offence had no weight.
The judge had also rejected another stance by the counsel that the petitioner’s post-arrest bail in so many other cases had already been allowed by different courts.
“This court also is of the view that it is not an ordinary case of abetment, instigation or conspiracy,” the trial judge had remarked in his order.
He had observed that being the founding chairman of PTI, the petitioner’s speeches and directions were strictly followed by his workers and supporters.
Separately, ATC-III Judge Arshad Javed had on Nov 8, 2024 granted post-arrest bail to Imran Khan in four other cases, including burning the PML-N office in Model Town, a container near Kalma Chowk, police vehicles in Gulberg, and violence at Sherpao Bridge during the May 9 riots.

Imran Khan has directed party leaders to prepare for protests, while also issuing instructions to refrain from making statements against JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman.
The PTI founder has also ordered party leaders to take opposition leaders, including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, into confidence regarding the planned protests.
The announcement comes as the PTI prepares to launch a nationwide protest campaign against the government.
It’s worth mentioning here that Pakistan held general elections on February 8, 2024 with independent candidates backed by former PTI winning most of the seats. However, PML-N and PPP formed an alliance to keep Imran Khan’s party out of power.
The opposition parties have alleged rigging in the elections – a claim rejected by the then caretaker administration, which conducted the polls.
However, in recent development, PTI is in talks with the federal government amid the prevailing uncertainty in the country.
Where PTI Chairman, Barrister Gohar said that party will submit its written demands to government in the third round of talks, scheduled to take place tomorrow (January 16).
“Tomorrow, our third session of negotiations with the government will take place, during which we will submit our demands in writing,” Barrister Gohar said.

Imran welcomes Gohar and Gandapur's meeting with army chief
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s founding chairman Imran Khan has welcomed the meeting between the party's incumbent Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur with Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir.
The meeting, held in Peshawar, aimed to address key political and security concerns, Express News reported.
After his meeting with Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar spoke informally to the media, emphasising the importance of following the directives of PTI’s founder.

Gohar reaffirmed that all actions taken by him are in line with Imran's guidance, describing the talks with General Munir as a positive development for the country’s stability.
Gohar also highlighted PTI’s primary demands, including the formation of a judicial commission to investigate two significant incidents. He stated, "We have always kept the door open for dialogue, while others have kept theirs closed. If this dialogue progresses, it will be beneficial for the country’s stability."
During the Peshawar meeting, both Gohar and Gandapur presented their concerns directly to General Asim Munir. Gohar confirmed that the meeting had yielded positive progress, suggesting that potential resolutions were being explored.
However, the meeting was marred by tensions between Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's political figures. A disagreement broke out between CM Gandapur and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi over the allocation of Rs500 billion for counterterrorism efforts.
Gandapur accused Kundi of spreading misleading information, leading to a heated exchange. The conflict escalated when Awami National Party (ANP) leader Aimal Wali Khan accused the provincial government of harboring Taliban elements. Gandapur responded by defending his past involvement in the Afghan Jihad and calling for clarity on the allegations.
Amid the tensions, General Asim Munir and other political leaders worked to refocus the conversation on regional security issues.
Barrister Gohar stressed the importance of addressing security matters in Parliament, urging a national approach to the ongoing challenges.
Following the meeting,Gohar proceeded to Parliament House, where he met with PTI Negotiation Committee head Omar Ayub. Gohar conveyed Imran's special message to the committee.
Reports suggest that Ayub is expected to hold a press conference soon to discuss the next steps in the party’s negotiations.

Aleema Khan dismissed speculation that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party was looking to US President elect Donald Trump for support. "Has the PTI pinned any hopes on Trump? Why do you keep asking such questions? Has Imran Khan been sitting in jail for 18 months waiting for him?" she said.
She insisted that her brother was in prison to prove his innocence. "Give him credit for that," she added.
Calling the Al-Qadir Trust case "foolish," Aleema Khan said PTI was merely enduring court dates. She alleged that journalists who report fairly on prison conditions are not granted access to Khan.
She reiterated her demand for an immediate ruling. "We pray that the verdict is announced tomorrow," she said, adding that Imran Khan had full confidence in the judiciary. "It is no longer his test; it is the judiciary’s test now. Some will pass, and some will fail."

Imran Khan to have phone call with sons and access to physician: IHC directs
The Islamabad High Court has directed authorities to allow the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan to speak with his sons over the phone, Express News reported.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case related to Imran’s requests for various facilities while in prison, including access to a personal physician, meetings with his wife, and phone calls with his children.
During the hearing, the court directed that Khan’s wife and political leaders should be allowed to visit him according to jail rules. Furthermore, a phone call with Imran's sons and medical treatment by his personal doctor were ordered.
The court also inquired about the procedure for allowing Khan's wife to visit, considering she is now a convicted individual, and asked for clarification on the process for his sons’ calls and medical treatment.
The court instructed the Assistant Superintendent of Jail to obtain clarification from the Superintendent of Adiala Jail and provide a response by Monday.
Imran’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, informed the court that despite earlier orders, some of the granted facilities had been revoked. He further requested permission for immediate meetings with Imran.
The case will be revisited on January 27.
Earlier on Monday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had issued notices to jail authorities in response to a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan, seeking the restoration of newspaper and TV access, permission for telephonic conversations with his sons, and medical checkups by his personal doctor.
During a hearing on Monday, PTI chief's counsel Faisal Chaudhry had argued that the trial court had not addressed the matter of personal medical care in its January 10, 2025, order, which the petition challenged.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq had directed a jail representative to appear in person at the next hearing scheduled for January 23.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui has asserted that jailed PTI founder Imran Khan's letter to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir was proof of the former's "despair and frustration".
In a statement on Wednesday, the senator termed Imran's letter to the army chief a "charge sheet," saying that the former prime minister had also sent a letter to COAS via former president Arif Alvi in 2023.
"They [PTI] did not receive a receipt or a reply to the previous letter, and will not receive this time as well," Siddiqui added.
Two days earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and lawyer Faisal Chaudhry confirmed that Imran, who is incarcerated in Adiala jail, penned a six-point letter to the army chief urging for review of policies while explaining the reasons for what he called the widening gulf between public and the army.
He clarified that writing a letter by the party founder to the army chief was not a policy shift and that the jailed party founder wrote the letter as a former prime minister.
The 71-year-old cricketer-turned-politician has been behind bars since August last year after he was booked in multiple cases ranging from corruption to terrorism since his ouster from power via opposition's no-trust motion in April 2022.
However, security sources, a day earlier, claimed that no letter from the incarcerated former premier was received by COAS Munir. Sources added that the news about Khan’s letter came to the military brass via the media.
The letter comes weeks after PTI leaders — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan — met the army chief, with the party's chairman saying that they discussed the overall security situation.

I give up trying to explain this, but let me give you a last shot at it. Supporting Imran and opposing Army unlawful acts are 2 separate things. There are common grounds however they both are looked at individually and separately.
For example in 2018 a person can still support Imran whilst opposing Army's unlawful activities in Balochistan. In 2021 a person can support Imran whilst also support Army for response to India over their airstrikes or help in developing the Kartarpur border.
In 2025 a person can not be a supporter of Imran Khan but can still oppose Army's policy over Afghan migrants, strong arming Parliamentarians to sign ridiculous laws like 26 Amendment or PECA, for all human rights violations like abductions, torture, family torture (physical and mental), killing of protestors, etc, taking over acres of land from villagers with no repercussions, etc
You are confusing a simple argument that Imran supporter cannot support Army or an Army apologist cannot side with Imran. Look at things differently. Call out on what is black and what is white.

Here is my response to you. I have been a poster on here during IK era, I'm happy for you to dig out any posts from me that supported any unlawful acts of the Army during IK era. For me its simple knowledge, as humans we are best of all creations simply because we have the ability to interpret what is right from wrong. You take that ability from humans then we are no different to animals. I know what is right and what is wrong, period. IK is in the right and Army is in the wrong as of today. We can approach this statement from multiple different angles and try bending it one way or other but the bottomline will not change.
As far as IK fan is concerned I'm a big admirer of his resilience, courage, leadership and motivational skills but I do not support him in a policy making environment. For policy making abilities we need to have diplomats in place who come through the ranks like Jai Krishna in India.
The reason for ultimate support for IK is that under his leadership there is a chance Pakistan can create an environment that would be condusive for policy making. At the moment frankly speaking its a jungle where might rules. In such environments there can be no policy-making. We need Khan to turn this back from a jungle to a place where people can live. Once we have a sense of law, security and economy prospering I would prefer Khan to stand down and seasoned diplomats to take over. That is my take on it.

Faisal Chaudhry, the lawyer of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, was engaged in a verbal altercation with the Adiala jail administration after he was barred from entering the prison on Thursday.
In the video — available with Geo News, the lawyer can be heard unleashing a flurry of abuse at jail Assistant Superintendent Imran Riaz as he visited the prison to meet Imran, who is incarcerated in Adiala jail.
"Why was I stopped...who dare not clear me," Chaudhry asked the police officer. Meanwhile, the assistant superintendent can be heard giving explanations to the lawyer.
Following the altercation, Chaudhry registered a complaint against the jail administration at Adiala Jail Chowki.
In his application, he maintained that his "power of attorney" is attached to all cases of PTI founder Imran Khan and added that the jail staff stopped him at the prison's entrance and did not allow him to enter.
The lawyer noted that an anti-terrorism court had scheduled the hearing of a case related to the attack on General Headquarters (GHQ).
Chaudhry complained that he was forced to sit in the deputy superintendent's room for two hours for protesting. He also accused the jail staff of harassing him and other petitioners, urging the police to take legal action against the staff members.

Faisal Chaudhry, the lawyer of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, was engaged in a verbal altercation with the Adiala jail administration after he was barred from entering the prison on Thursday.
In the video — available with Geo News, the lawyer can be heard unleashing a flurry of abuse at jail Assistant Superintendent Imran Riaz as he visited the prison to meet Imran, who is incarcerated in Adiala jail.
"Why was I stopped...who dare not clear me," Chaudhry asked the police officer. Meanwhile, the assistant superintendent can be heard giving explanations to the lawyer.
Following the altercation, Chaudhry registered a complaint against the jail administration at Adiala Jail Chowki.
In his application, he maintained that his "power of attorney" is attached to all cases of PTI founder Imran Khan and added that the jail staff stopped him at the prison's entrance and did not allow him to enter.
The lawyer noted that an anti-terrorism court had scheduled the hearing of a case related to the attack on General Headquarters (GHQ).
Chaudhry complained that he was forced to sit in the deputy superintendent's room for two hours for protesting. He also accused the jail staff of harassing him and other petitioners, urging the police to take legal action against the staff members.
The 71-year-old cricketer-turned-politician has been behind bars since August last year after he was sentenced in Toshakhana case-I — one of the dozens cases registered against the former premier since his ouster from power in April 2022.

PTI concerned over Imran’s health, seeks ‘urgent’ medical care
The PTI has expressed concern over reports of Imran Khan’s rising sugar levels and irregular heartbeat, urging the government to provide him with access to medical facilities and allow doctors of his choice to examine him.
In a statement released on Thursday, the party’s information secretary, Sheikh Waqas Akram, criticised the government for denying the PTI chief his “constitutionally mandated rights and facilities”, as outlined in jail manuals.
“The PTI founder is being denied all facilities as part of a scheme to break him, both physically and mentally. Imran Khan’s health and well-being are of utmost importance to us and any negligence in providing medical care could have serious consequences,” Mr Akram observed.
He called upon the government to ensure Imran Khan’s regular medical checkup by “physicians of his choice”.
Mr Khan should be allowed to communicate with his sons as it is his “fundamental, legal and constitutional right”.
He called for the immediate release of Mr Khan, his wife, former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other PTI leaders.
“Imran Khan is being persecuted for an unrelenting dedication to reshaping Pakistan into a welfare state, where the government truly represents the people, rather than serving the interests of power-hungry elite.”
He criticised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for extending an olive branch to India despite its policy of genocide and ethnic cleansing in held Kashmir.
“Pakistan should not engage in talks with India until the latter softens its stance and reinstates Kashmir’s special status — before the unilateral constitutional amendment of Aug 5, 2019,” the PTI leader said.

Previously on February 3, Imran wrote to the army chief over what he claimed was a growing distance between the military and the public. As per his letter, the army needed to reevaluate its policy to win over the public with reasons and suggestions proposed by Imran to remedy the situation.
However, security sources said the letter had not been received by the military and dismissed reports in the media about the existence of such a letter. They claimed that the military establishment was not interested in receiving such a letter.
In the letter posted on Imran’s X account today, he said: “The prison administration … has done every injustice to me to increase pressure on me while violating basic human rights. I have been kept in a death cell. I was kept in complete lock-up for 20 days where even sunlight did not reach me.
“For five days, the electricity in my cell was turned off and I was in complete darkness. My exercise equipment and TV were taken away and I was not even allowed to have newspapers. They even withhold books whenever they want. Apart from these 20 days, I was again kept in lock-up for 40 hours. My sons have been made to talk to me only three times in the last six months.”
He said he had written the previous with “good intentions for the betterment of the country and the nation, so that the growing gap between the army and the people could be reduced day by day, but the response was given with extreme frivolity and irresponsibility”.
Imran claimed that 90 per cent of the people would support his previous letter’s points if public opinion was taken on them.
The PTI founder talked at length about his criticism of recent legal and political developments in the country and the issues being faced by his party and workers.
“All this is against our traditions and due to this, hatred against the army has increased a lot among the people, which if corrected in time, is better for both the army and the country, otherwise irreparable losses may have to be borne from all this,” he reiterated in line with his first letter.
Concluding his letter, Imran said: “It is essential for the stability and security of the country that the gap between the army and the people be reduced, and there is only one way to reduce this growing gap, and that is for the army to return to its constitutional boundaries, separate itself from politics and fulfil its assigned responsibilities, and this task will have to be done by the army itself, otherwise this growing gap will become fault lines in the term of national security.”

Individuals like Mohsin Naqvi, who have never even contested a councilor’s election, have been imposed upon the nation, wielding authority over everything from cricket to internal and external affairs.
Repression and fascism are rampant in the country. The 26th Constitutional Amendment has effectively dismantled the Supreme Court’s independence. Justice Qazi Faez Isa was the most biased and shameless Chief Justice in history, surpassing even Justice Munir in his misdeeds. During his tenure, democracy was trampled upon and human rights were grossly violated, yet instead of taking action against this injustice, he facilitated every illegal move. Rule of law and human rights have been severely compromised. Sham elections were carried out and the people were deprived of their mandate. The Chief Election Commissioner and Qazi Faez Isa served as facilitators of the establishment, and in the process, betrayed their offices and the nation. As a result, a forged parliament, a fraudulent prime minister, and a phony president have been installed.
What Qazi Faez Isa was being used for is now being done by the Constitutional Bench. The country has been reduced to a banana republic. Judges are supposed to hear both sides of an argument, but, one-sided decisions are being handed down here.
I would like to send a special message to Justice Yahya Afridi: Given the state of law and human rights in the country, you should take a stand against this injustice and become an honorable part of history, rather than playing a disgraceful role like Qazi Faez Isa.
Voices of media and social media have been silenced through the draconian amendments to the PECA law. State of the internet in the country is evident to all. The economy has suffered a loss of $1.7 billion. The country is experiencing a rapid brain drain, with 1.7 million people having moved abroad. Economic devastation and unemployment have left the entire nation distressed.
We demanded commissions be formed to investigate May 9th (2023) and November 26th (2024) because we knew that negotiations were a mere facade. Forming a commission on the events of February 8th (2024) was way out of their league. Had their intentions been sincere, they would have established commissions on May 9th and November 26th to uncover the truth, as these were matters related to human rights violations that required immediate action. However, nothing was done. The establishment murdered unarmed civilians on November 26th when they ordered opening fire on them.
The country’s most notorious money launderers have been imposed as rulers upon the nation. Intelligence agencies kept informing us for 30 years about how these two families looted the country. They themselves showed us files on the Surrey Palace and Mayfair flats. NAB was set to recover Rs 1,100 billion, and during our tenure, we successfully recovered Rs 480 billion because we were serious about accountability. In contrast, in the previous 17 years, only Rs 80–90 billion had been recovered. However, amendments were made to NAB laws to dismiss all corruption cases against these two families. Cases involving Maqsood Chaprasi, Mayfair properties, One Hyde Park bribery, and the Omni Group were all closed. At first, we were informed about their corruption, yet now, through rigging, they have been imposed on us simply because their expertise lies in appeasing the establishment. The military has destroyed its own credibility by installing faces that the public has rejected, creating resentment among the masses. This fraudulent system can only survive through crushing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and keeping our people unjustly incarcerated, ensuring that the puppet government remains in place and the electoral fraud is not revealed. 'Haven't received any letter from any one': COAS
Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir on Thursday has denied 'receiving any letter from any one,' stating that 'even if any such letter was received, he would forward it to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.'
Speaking informally to journalists during a luncheon hosted for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Prime Minister's House, General Munir said, “I have not received any letter from anyone, and even if I do, I will not read it. I will send it to the Prime Minister.”
The army chief highlighted that Pakistan is progressing well and reiterated his commitment to the country’s development and stability.
The statement comes a day after PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry claimed outside Adiala Jail that Imran Khan had sent a third letter to the army chief, raising concerns about alleged electoral fraud that he said favoured a minority over the majority.
Chaudhry stated that Imran Khan has shared the contents of the letter with PTI leadership, and the letter will cover six main points. He confirmed that the letter would address issues such as the need for deep structural reforms, the damage caused to democracy by the government's policies, and other critical matters.
Chaudhry also revealed that Khan and other party leaders had appeared in the GHQ case, and that PTI has decided to appoint Aamir Dogar as a member of the opposition’s negotiation committee. He added that new members would also be included in the political committee, with a formal notification set to be issued today.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan had earlier written a second open letter to Army Chief General Asim Munir, following up on a previous letter that aimed to address the widening gap between the military and the public. The letter was shared on Imran Khan's official Twitter account. Imran Khan will get no response of any letter: Siddiqui
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui said on Thursday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan will get no response of any letter.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV, Siddiqui said, "The army chief has said that he had received no letter. He [COAS] said that if he receives any letter, it will be sent to the prime minister."
"There is no idea that where he [PTI] founder dispatches a letter," said Siddiqui.
He maintained: "He [PTI founder] wants to create a divide between the army and the masses."
Earlier on Wednesday, the PML-N decided against initiating the dialogues with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV, PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui, while emphasizing the government's policy, said, "The PTI has denounced the invitation of the prime minister and National Assembly speaker for holding the talks."
"This party is not formed for holding talks and embracing the democratic attitude. We will see afterward whether they are serious to hold talks or not," Siddiqui said.
"But we are not giving an offer to hold the talks. Now it is up to the PTI that when the party needs to hold serious talks," said the PML-N senator.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Saturday the Prime Minister’s Office was the central place for addressing political matters and if the PTI founder is serious, he should write to the prime minister instead of involving the military.

Imran Khan urges establishment to consider facts in his open letters
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has instructed his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to launch a strong political movement after Ramadan and assigned two senior leaders to engage with the opposition.
His lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, shared these details with the media outside Adiala Jail after meeting Imran Khan.
According to Faisal Chaudhry, Imran Khan has directed Asad Qaiser and Umar Ayub to take charge of political coordination and establish communication with opposition parties. Imran Khan also reiterated that his open letters highlight facts that the establishment must consider.
Faisal Chaudhry claimed that PTI leaders facing legal action are subjected to controlled trials inside Adiala Jail, while those who left the party after 9 May have been spared legal consequences.
He revealed that PTI has filed a petition in Islamabad High Court demanding an open trial. "Lawyers and journalists are selectively allowed inside the courtroom. The judiciary is being crushed, and basic rights are being violated," he said.
Imran Khan’s lawyer reiterated PTI’s stance that 9 May events were a false flag operation, demanding an independent judicial commission to investigate the incidents.
"We seek justice under the Constitution and law. We disagree with the Supreme Court bench’s remarks on military courts," Faisal Chaudhry added. Imran Khan, through his lawyer, also highlighted Pakistan’s economic crisis and human rights violations.
"The sanctity of homes was violated in crackdowns against PTI. Basic human rights are being trampled. With media censorship and internet restrictions, who will invest in Pakistan?" Khan was quoted as saying.
He further claimed that after PTI’s removal, Pakistan suffered a $45 billion economic loss, and the current government was formed "on the shoulders of Form 47"—a reference to alleged electoral rigging.

RAWALPINDI: The Adiala jail authorities have arranged a telephonic conversation between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his sons in light of the court orders, ex-premier's lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said on Saturday.Chaudhry informed journalists about the development outside the Adiala jail.
An arrangement to the above effect was made after the PTI politicians, earlier this month, alleged that their party founder, who has been behind bars since August 2023, was languishing in isolation and denied visitors.
The former ruling party leaders also accused the jail authorities of withholding most of the rightful amenities, which they said the PTI founder deserved as a former premier of the country.
On January 28, Senior Special Judge Central-I Shahrukh Arjumand accepted, on humanitarian grounds, Khan's plea seeking the aforementioned facilities.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had also directed the jail authorities to arrange the WhatsApp call, besides ordering the PTI founder's medical check-up by his physician, The News reported.
It must be noted that IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the petition seeking the above facilities on January 23 and directed the authorities to allow Khan to meet his wife, Bushra Bibi, and political leaders as per jail rules.
During that hearing, Khan's counsel argued that the facilities were withdrawn despite court orders. However, a TV and additional newspapers were restored after the court took notice.
The IHC CJ inquired about the procedure for WhatsApp calls, to which the jail authorities responded that they had arranged a meeting under the directives of trial courts on humanitarian grounds.
Before adjourning the hearing, the IHC CJ directed the jail authorities to obtain directives from the Adiala jail superintendent and report back to the court.

SC to hear Imran’s contempt case next week in petition against 2022 Azadi March
The Supreme Court on Saturday set the hearing date of March 21 for a contempt of court petition against PTI founder Imran Khan.
In 2022, the SC had raised questions on the maintainability of the plea seeking contempt proceedings against the former PTI chairman — for allegedly flouting the top court’s orders regarding his party’s ‘Azadi March’ on May 25 of that year — and observed that the petition, filed by the interior ministry, was “ineffective”.
The ministry had stated in the plea that the apex court had directed the PTI to hold its ‘Azadi March’ gathering on a ground located between sectors H-9 and G-9, but Imran and his supporters made their way towards D-Chowk in alleged contravention of court orders.
According to a fresh development, a five-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear the petition on March 21.
The bench will comprise Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Naeem Akhter Afghan, Justice Hashim Khan Kakar and Justice Aamer Farooq as well.
On October 13, the interior ministry instituted contempt of court charges against Imran for allegedly flouting the SC’s May 25 order.
In the May order, the petition recalled, the apex court had directed the PTI to hold its ‘Azadi March’ gathering in a ground located between sectors H-9 and G-9 in view of the categorical assurances on behalf of the party’s top leadership and their counsel that their rally would not cause any inconvenience or blockage of the Srinagar Highway or trouble the public and that the rally would be conducted in a peaceful and lawful manner.
Despite these assurances, the PTI top leadership, acting in blatant disregard for the directions, exhorted its supporters to reach D-Chowk, falsely professing that the court had allowed the march without any conditions.
The contempt petition pleaded for the implementation of the apex court order for the protection of the fundamental rights of the public, particularly residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

IHC restores biweekly meetings of Imran Khan in Adiala Jail
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday restored twice a week meeting schedule of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Visitors to the incarcerated PTI leader can now meet him every Tuesday and Thursday according to the original arrangement.
A larger bench, comprising acting Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Muhammad Azam, heard the case related to Imran Khan’s meetings with members of his family and party leaders.
The counsel for Adiala Jail superintendent told the court that the meetings were held in December according to the schedule.
He said the situation changed after January as the PTI founder’s status was changed from an under-trial prisoner to a convicted one and there were security threats also. He said the meetings were held every Tuesday according to SOPs.
The acting chief justice remarked that everyone came up with a plea to allow meeting with Imran Khan.
The counsel said meetings were being used for political purposes.
“What is the need for media talk after meeting in jail,” asked Justice Dogar. “We will take undertaking from them that they will return after meeting,” he added.
The court ordered restoration of meetings every Tuesday and Thursday and said only those named by PTI founder’s coordinator Salman Akram Raja would be accommodated.
No one would hold media talk after meeting the PTI founder, the court reiterated.

Imran Khan’s sisters, PTI leaders detained amid protests outside Adiala Jail
A tense standoff unfolded near Adiala Jail on Tuesday, as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers clashed with police demanding access to party founder Imran Khan and his family.
The protest, which escalated into a series of arrests, centered around the denial of entry for several prominent PTI figures, including Khan's three sisters, who had arrived to meet him and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
According to reports, PTI supporters gathered near the jail gates in large numbers, chanting slogans and throwing stones after authorities blocked their entry.
The police responded swiftly, detaining numerous workers, including two women. Among those arrested were Imran Khan's sisters—Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and his cousin, Qasim Khan Niazi.
The protest intensified as PTI leaders, including MNA Shafqat Awan, Barrister Gohar, and several lawyers, were stopped at checkpoints set up by police, despite having prior approval to meet with Imran Khan.
Salman Akram Raja, a senior lawyer representing PTI, expressed his frustration, stating, “Our meeting was scheduled, names were sent in advance, yet we were stopped with no valid explanation."
Family members of the PTI leader, including Mehrunisa and Mubashara Sheikh, arrived at the jail earlier that day after receiving permission from jail authorities. However, their access to the jail was limited, with police preventing them from meeting Imran Khan's wife and the former Prime Minister.
'We have been trying to meet Khan for three weeks,' says Aleema Khan
The police blockade also affected other family members of Imran Khan, including his sisters, who expressed frustration over the continuous denial of access.
Aleema Khan, speaking to reporters, condemned the situation, stating, “We have been trying to meet for three weeks. Today was the scheduled meeting, and yet we are being blocked again. It’s baffling why they are preventing us from seeing our family.”
She went on to criticize the political leadership, alleging that officials from the ruling party were behind the orders to block their access, claiming, “Who is behind these orders? Shehbaz Sharif or Maryam Nawaz? It seems everyone is forced to act under pressure.”
Lawyers gain access
After hours of protests and negotiations, six prominent lawyers, including Barrister Gohar, Barrister Ali Zafar, and female leader Razia Sultana, were eventually allowed to meet Imran Khan inside the jail.
However, the situation remained tense as multiple reports of further clashes emerged throughout the day.
Police detentions and clashes with journalists
The protests also led to a confrontation between the police and journalists covering the events. Reporters from private TV channels, including Shabbir Dar and Sajjad Chaudhry, were reportedly pushed by law enforcement officers. Sub-Inspector Tayyab Raja and plainclothes personnel were accused of using inappropriate language and making threats against the media crew on site.
“We were simply doing our job, but the police treated us with hostility. It’s concerning that journalists are being threatened while trying to cover a peaceful protest,” said one reporter, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Imran Khan 'met American-Pakistani in Adiala jail before US delegation visit'
LONDON: Former prime minister and the jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan held extensive talks over several sessions in November last year with one of the persons involved in recent high-profile talks with members of the Pakistani administration for his release and the way forward for a possible breakthrough between the PTI and the powers that be, Geo News has learnt.Highly credible sources shared with Geo News that long before a group of American-Pakistanis travelled to Pakistan in the third week of March for the sensitive talks, several rounds of meetings took place in Adiala jail between ex-PM Khan and one of the persons involved in the recent negotiations and talks.
The people involved in the recent efforts to break the deadlock between Khan and the powerful Pakistani administration included: food and real estate American-Pakistani tycoon Tanweer Ahmed, PTI USA senior leader Atif Khan, Sardar Abdul Sami, Dr Usman Malik, Dr Saira Bilal and Dr Mohammad Munir.
The American-Pakistani, who held direct one-on-one talks with Khan in November last year, has been a personal friend and donor of Khan for nearly two decades and frequently met him when he was the premier.
He played a key role in coordinating the delegation from the US to Pakistan. Credible sources have shared interesting insights into what happened during the course of these two meetings.
During the November meeting last year with the American-Pakistani, Khan accepted the need for an understanding with the government and the establishment and almost agreed to a settlement of the issues — until he was assured in the same week that millions would join the long march on Islamabad, creating enough chaos to bring the system to the decisive negotiations.
According to the sources, three senior KP leaders — including Ali Amin Gandapur — provided assurances to Khan during the jail meetings that millions would storm Islamabad, ensuring his release on the PTI's terms. Khan's wife Bushra Bibi was not in the picture, and no decision was made at that time about her taking part in the march.
Khan, said the trusted sources, was so convinced about the success of the march that he decided to end the talks with the American-Pakistani — and sent a stern message to the government officers that he hoped the street agitation and reaction would decide his fate.
The Adiala jail sessions, facilitated by the government officers, were aimed at convincing Khan not to go down the route of street agitation and also to accept a few other demands, including the May 9 responsibility and action on his social media team.
The talks failed, and that march ended in complete disarray and damaged the PTI to the extent that it has still not recovered from its impact.
After the deadly events of November 2024 in Islamabad that involved Bushra and Gandapur fleeing Islamabad to KP as live bullets were fired, efforts started in the US to reach out to the senior Pakistan government officers to discuss Khan's release and a normalised working relationship with the PTI.
The efforts were led by Ahmed, who has donated $9 million to Islamabad's National University of Science & Technology (NUST), and Atif, who convinced the doctors from First Pakistan Global NGO to travel to Pakistan, for the meeting.
Atif travelled to Dubai but didn't enter Pakistan. Those who reached Pakistan held two sessions: one lasting for three hours and the second one lasted for around five hours, knowledgeable sources said.
"Release Imran Khan and other imprisoned PTI leaders and allow us to meet Imran Khan," this was the demand of the delegation members, according to the sources.
They were told by the two government officers that no such wish would be accommodated. The group then talked about the campaigns it had launched in the US and indicated it would continue with its campaigns.
They were told that all their campaigns — described as 'anti-Pakistan' — had failed at all levels, yielding no results other than the publicity for the individuals involved.
They were told that the only beneficiaries of their campaigns have been some YouTubers who have made dollars by hyping up about these events, making money and moving on to the new campaigns.
A lot of ice broke the following day, and it was agreed that the matters would be resolved through engagement, and the PTI leaders outside of Pakistan will not do things — such as the targeted campaigns, that somehow damage Khan's chances of coming out of jail.
It was agreed that the PTI leadership in the US would rope in some PTI social media activists and harness them away from some YouTubers.
One of the meeting participants had informed a former anchor and YouTuber, now based in the USA, about his travel plans and who he might meet and also that voices should be raised if he goes into silence.
The delegation — Ahmed, Dr Bilal, Dr Malik Usman, Muhammad Munir — left for the US via Qatar after the meetings were over on a positive note.
A storm started on social media when the YouTubers, aligned with PTI, got confirmation from one of the participants that the meetings did take place.
A war started within the PTI social media, questioning why the delegation travelled to Pakistan for the meetings. They were accused of treachery on X, accused of betrayal on YouTube and bracketed with the enemies on Meta.
While the meetings became controversial as one after another programme was done, several key people within the PTI and the delegation came out emphasising that those interested in their fame and earnings had no care for Khan and what he was facing.
After Ahmed and Atif were accused of treachery, both responded strongly.
Ahmed thanked all the delegation members and PTI USA leaders for understanding why such a meeting was important, but he attacked the social media influencers and critics.
It is the opinion that each delegation member was personally motivated to help improve the situation, but blamed self-proclaimed PTI supporters and social media influencers for disrupting the initiative to gain more views on YouTube through their sensationalist narratives.
"These people would lose thousands of dollars in daily earnings if the delegation's meetings yielded positive results and if Imran Khan is released. They don't care about Imran Khan. They care about their views only. Imran Khan's release on bail would primarily harm these YouTubers, who are currently undermining Pakistan’s reputation for personal gains," as per Ahmed's post on X.
Former premier's adviser on international affairs, Atif, explained in a social media post that certain people within the PTI are against the engagement with the government officers because they do not want Khan to be released.
"They fear losing their political influence dollars," he said.
He said he was not apologetic about encouraging Dr Munir, Dr Saira, Mohammad Munir and Malik, who had travelled to Pakistan to play their role in breaking the deadlock.
Atif said that senior PTI USA leader Sajjad Burki also believed it was the right move and supported the initiative.
In the latest development, PTI leader Azam Swati fully endorsed dialogue with the establishment and stated that Khan was fully in favour of talks to ease tensions.
However, PTI Secretary General and renowned lawyer Salman Akram Raja emphasised that Swati was expressing his personal views and Khan made no such suggestion. He said Khan stood by his demands.

Islamabad court okays Imran’s contact with sons, check-up by own physician
The Court of Special Judge Central on Tuesday approved two key petitions filed on behalf of PTI founder Imran Khan, allowing weekly telephone contact with his sons and the continuation of medical check-up by a personal physician.
Judge Shahrukh Arjumand also sought an implementation report by April 28 from the officials concerned.
Mr Khan’s legal team, comprising Usman Riaz Gul and Zaheer Abbas, argued that the Islamabad High Court had already constituted a medical board and permitted medical check-ups in the presence of jail doctors.
The defence further requested monthly check-ups by a personal physician. After reserving the verdict, the court approved the requests and adjourned further proceedings.
In a related development, the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mohammad Afzal Majoka, adjourned the hearing of six pre-arrest bail applications of Mr Khan and one of his wife, Bushra Bibi, until May 6.
Jail authorities cited security concerns and internet failure as the reasons for the founder’s non-appearance, either in person or via video link.
The defence filed a petition requesting the court to decide the bail pleas on merit without further delay, arguing that repeated court orders to produce the petitioners have not been honored by the police and jail officials concerned.

The Court of Special Judge Central on Tuesday approved two key petitions filed on behalf of PTI founder Imran Khan, allowing weekly telephone contact with his sons and the continuation of medical check-up by a personal physician.
Judge Shahrukh Arjumand also sought an implementation report by April 28 from the officials concerned.
Mr Khan’s legal team, comprising Usman Riaz Gul and Zaheer Abbas, argued that the Islamabad High Court had already constituted a medical board and permitted medical check-ups in the presence of jail doctors.
The defence further requested monthly check-ups by a personal physician. After reserving the verdict, the court approved the requests and adjourned further proceedings.
In a related development, the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mohammad Afzal Majoka, adjourned the hearing of six pre-arrest bail applications of Mr Khan and one of his wife, Bushra Bibi, until May 6.
Jail authorities cited security concerns and internet failure as the reasons for the founder’s non-appearance, either in person or via video link.
The defence filed a petition requesting the court to decide the bail pleas on merit without further delay, arguing that repeated court orders to produce the petitioners have not been honored by the police and jail officials concerned.

Imran seeks top judges’ intervention over jail ‘harassment’
PTI leader and former prime minister Imran Khan was being subjected to harassment in prison while his family and party leaders were not allowed to meet him despite court orders, according to a letter written on his behalf to top judges of the Supreme Court and Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The nine-page letter, written by PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, said the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP), Yahya Afridi, and IHC Acting Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar should take note of the alleged disregard by authorities of the law and Constitution.
The letter highlighted that Mr Khan, the “undisputed premier leader of the Pakistani nation”, was being kept in prison as a part of a “misguided strategy”.
It said Pakistan was facing the threat of external aggression and only Mr Khan can “bind the entire nation, from Karachi to Khyber to a common purpose”.
All that stood between Mr Khan and his liberty was decisions on his bail applications and suspension of convictions in about a dozen cases, the correspondence added.
Mr Raja also requested the IHC acting chief justice to fix different appeals — in cases involving Mr Khan — which are pending in the high court.
Except for the Al Qadir Trust case, bail has already been granted to several of the co-accused in every other case, the letter highlighted.
Mr Khan has been “entangled in over two hundred frivolous cases”, and four of his five convictions since 2022 have been overturned or suspended on appeal, revealing the flimsy foundations of the charges against him.
However, Mr Khan’s appeal in the Al-Qadir Trust case was yet to be heard by the court while other PTI leaders, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Dr Yasmeen Rashid, have been incarcerated for more than 600 days “without justification”.
The PTI also requested the top adjudicators to take action to restore “decency, justice, and the belief that the people of Pakistan matter”.
The letter alleged Mr Khan was facing “relentless harassment” in prison since March 20.
He has not been allowed to meet his sisters and for the past three weeks, when his sister came to meet him in prison on Tuesdays, roads leading to the Adiala Jail were blocked with trucks and other obstructions along with police contingents several miles away from the prison.
The IHC has ordered jail authorities to allow Mr Khan’s meetings with his family, lawyers and party leaders on Tuesday and Thursday every week.
These obstructions and coercion, the letter stated, were “widely recorded and reported by the media”.
The treatment accorded to Mr Khan in the prison continues to remain subject to the “whims of the authorities, whoever they might be”.
Despite court orders, Mr Khan was not allowed weekly telephone conversations with his sons, the letter added.
He has only been allowed to speak with his sons twice over the last four months.
Moreover, Mr Khan is also not allowed to meet his wife, also incarcerated in the Adiala Jail, as per the jail manual.
The letter alleged that books brought for Mr Khan by family and friends are not given to Mr Khan for several weeks.
His access to two newspapers in accordance with the jail manual is repeatedly interrupted “as part of a scheme of harassment” and at times, Mr Khan had been subjected to “long periods of solitary confinement in his small cell”.
Likewise, for the past two years, Mr Khan’s trial was conducted within the jail premises and not in the open court.
Access to the ad hoc court set-up in prison was provided to the family of Mr Khan and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, after the intervention of IHC.
However, the general public is still unable to witness the trial.
The letter regretted that friends and political associates were not allowed to meet Mr Khan even after the IHC order issued on March 24.
Despite their names being included in lists provided to jail authorities, they were forcefully removed, detained and humiliated, the letter alleged.
The conduct of the jail authorities reflected an “assault on the legal system of Pakistan at the core of which is obedience to court orders”.
The letter concluded the nation “needs belief in the decency of the State and the people need to be assured that they matter as human beings”.

The lawyers( Salman Akram etc) and the family have a court order that allows them to meet IK but Munir and Co have ignored it. The CJ in IHC claimed he didn't know. This is the level of shamelessness from our courts and judges. The bigger shameless is CJ Afridi who refused to give a written order and told IKs lawyer to tell the jail that CJ has given them permission and Munir ignored this too. What a circus run by incompetent clowns
