The bold part where she was appointed AAG by Khattar surely reeks of nepotism as the post is a government post and not a political post.

India's merchandise exports to witness all-time record high of 447.3 billion dollar during FY2023

The merchandise exports of India is likely to touch an all-time record high of $447.3 billion during FY2023, despite a contraction in exports during the last two quarters of the current financial year.

Export-Import Bank of India (India Exim Bank) has said, although, a worsening global energy crisis, tighter monetary and financial circumstances, continued slowdown in a few key trading partners, and continued ambiguity surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war might all have a negative impact on India's exports.

Indian exports crossed record $750 bn-mark

Indian goods and services exports have crossed the USD 750 bn-mark for the first time, news agency ANI reported Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal as saying at an event on Tuesday. In 2021-22, the country's goods and services exports touched an all-time high of USD 422 billion and USD 254 billion respectively, taking the total shipments to USD 676 billion.

“There’s obviously much faster growth in services, but growth in both (merchandise and services exports) is good ... Probably we will end the year with about USD 760 bln (in exports), if not more,” Goyal told reporters.

Exports fell 8.82 per cent in February from a year ago, while imports dropped 8.21 percent — the biggest decline in more than two years. Experts in the past few months have expressed concerns around slowing exports owing to recessionary worries and weak global demand.

Exports were down by 8.8 per cent at USD 33.88 billion in February 2023 compared to USD 37.15 billion in the same month last year. Imports also declined for a third month on the trot in February at USD 51.31 billion, down by 8.21 per cent compared to USD 55.9 billion a year ago.

“Slowing core exports and imports indicate softening global and domestic demand,” said Madhavi Arora, economist with Emkay Global Financial Services Ltd. However, Arora lowered her current account deficit forecast for the fiscal year ending March to 2.5% of the gross domestic product, from 2.6% earlier on robust services exports in the last few months.

Commenting on the data, Sanjay Budhia Chairman - CII National Committee on EXIM and MD- PATTON Group said that although India's exports have slightly dipped in February owing to the turbulent global scenario, it is encouraging to note that merchandise exports saw a rise in the April-February period in spite of an adverse business environment.

"CII and the Indian industry has utmost faith in the reforms introduced by the government to improve the trading environment for inducing a rise in the overall Indian exports," he said.

Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) President A Sakthivel said that they expect 2022-23 to end up with export of USD 770-780 billion, which will be over USD 100 billion as compared to aggregate export of USD 672 billion recorded in 2021-22, exhibiting a high growth of 15-16 per cent.

Not sure about the numbers in coastal Karnataka. I'd add more to the BJP there. Congress has a personality clash in Siddu vs DKS. JDS might be needed and Kumaraswamy has previously allied with the BJP. But there's always Operation Lotus waiting. So don't lose hope yet.

Modiji has visited the state seven times recently with more to come. Surely, you trust your leader's appeal

Lol, if the BJP loses Karnataka, look at the list of important states where it's not in power:

Karnataka
Maharashtra
Tamil Nadu
West Bengal
Punjab
Orissa
Andhra Pradesh
Telangana
Himachal Pradesh
Chattisgarh
Rajasthan
Bihar
Jharkhand
Kerala

There's only so much prestige you'll get in UP/MP/Gujarat/North East.

Correct but National election will be different though. Out of states you mentioned, Modi will sweep on the following in 2024 elections:

Karnataka
Maharashtra
Orissa
Himachal Pradesh
Chattisgarh
Rajasthan
Bihar
Jharkhand

They will only so much respect you would get in other backpacking states though.

C-voter and Yeshwant Deshmukh's polls are very accurate. I have seldom seen him gone wrong, so I believe these numbers will remain.

That is why and I know you wont like it, I still believe Bengal elections in 2021 were rigged. Most opinion polls/exit polls, including local bengali polls were showing BJP victory or hung assembly and then Mamata wins by huge margin thanks to their goons. What a farce :))

Your reasons for saying the BJP will "sweep" Maharashtra, Orissa and Bihar?

Your reasons for saying the BJP will "sweep" Maharashtra, Orissa and Bihar?

Last election in 2019:

Bihar - BJP+ won 39 out of 40 seats

Maharastra - BJP+ (BJP and SS) won 41 seats out of 46. Even if SS is with Congress this time, which is looking unlikely the way Pappu is dragging Savarkar, BJP still will more seats than Sena + Congress. BJP would simply play the Savarkar card who is pride of Maharastra to snatch votes away.

Orissa - May be difficult to beat BJD but last election it was 12-8. This time BJP can turn the tide.

BJP will also have a good show in Bengal.

Also, I expect BJP to win some seats this time in Andhra and Telangana.

Only in Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Kerala they will not get any seats.

An Indian defence agency has been purchasing equipment from an Israeli spyware firm that is being billed as a potential Pegasus alternative, according to trade data reviewed by The Hindu.

The firm in question is Cognyte Software Ltd., which faces a class action lawsuit in the U.S. from investors.

“Cognyte regularly targeted journalists, dissidents, critics of authoritarian regimes, families of opposition, and human rights activists around the world, without their knowledge, and collected intelligence on these people by manipulating them to reveal information and/or by compromising their devices and accounts,” U.S. law firm Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check LLP said on Monday, pointing to a ‘threat report’ by Facebook parent Meta Platforms on the “Surveillance for Hire” industry.

Defence sources said on condition of anonymity that there is no equipment held with the Indian Army which can monitor end-point communication devices such as smartphones.

However, for over three years, Cognyte and its then-parent firm Verint Systems Inc. have been supplying computer gear to the Signal Intelligence Directorate (SID), which comes under the Defence Ministry’s Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).

I like how it is organised in Karnataka, where the two national parties are equally strong on the ground, and one can provide the checks and balances , and a viable alternative, for the other. Wish the whole country was like this.

I've mentioned in several posts that I want a strong opposition to the BJP in India. It's the reason why I keep criticising your zero-hero RaGa. He is simply incapable of providing any opposition to Modi.

As for coping, it's you RaGa Fans Club who need to find more effective ways to do that. All the name calling, silly emoticon posting and begging Pakistanis for sympathy for the last nine years hasn't helped, clearly. You need better tactics post 2024 when you'll be blessed with another five years of Modi sarkar. :)) :)) :))

All I see is a sad, lonely old man trying to find relevance by providing insider scoops :))

Considering the third-class troll Biswa Sharma has turned out to be, it looks like Rahulg made the right call. Principles are something BJP bhakts won't understand. Rahulg is willing to sacrifice power to stick to some basic principles. That's why he refused to attend the Shiv Sena-Congres swearing in despite Aditya Thackeray travelling all the way to invite him personally. Also didn't relent on attacking Savarkar in Maharashtra during the Bharat Jodo.

It might make him a poor politician. But at least he has some spine, something severely lacking in the BJP or general Indian politics :apology

That is certainly a troll post :)) If you can't beat them in trolling, join 'em. BJP's trolling classlessness is next level though.

The only thing I find silly in that is including Anil's name. He is literally a nobody and this looks bitter and silly by including him.

And this is how the vile, uncouth, mannerless Congress spokesperson Supriya Srinate speaks to a Chief Minister of a state -

Look at how well HBS responded to Rahul Gandhi's original tweet, and compare it to how that Congress spokesperson replied.

Ghulam Nabi Azad blames Rahul Gandhi for exit, says ‘once you are in Congress, you are spineless

Veteran politician Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday blamed Rahul Gandhi squarely for his exit from the Congress and said that one has to be “spineless” to remain in the grand old party.

Looking back at the UPA II era, Azad said the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should not have buckled when Rahul thrashed an Ordinance brought by the government to negate a Supreme Court order on disqualifying convicted MPs and MLAs. Azad, who was then a minister, said the UPA cabinet was “weak” as it did not go ahead despite Rahul’s objection.

Speaking after the release of his autobiography “Azaad”, the veteran leader made it clear that he won’t return to the Congress.

Asked if Rahul is the reason why he is not in the Congress, Azad was quoted as saying by the PTI, “Yes. Not me alone, but at least a few dozen more, both young and old leaders…. Once you are in Congress, you are spineless…. you have to get operated"

Regardless of the social media theatrics, the fact remains that Congress high command neglected Himanta, who was the main organizational power at a grassroot level, in favour of the incumbent Gogois. The same mistake they have done by suppressing YSR in Andhra decades back(typical power sharing problems from Delhi) and Mamata in late 90s and now doing again with Sachin Pilot by favouring Gehlot. Unless Congress high command does not allow the next generation leaders to come through at every state level ( in same way they want to jumpstart Rahul as an young leader at a national level over others) and provide them a level playing field to address their aspirations when compared to the veterans who has lot of clout, the party will continue to lose out on future leaders and weaken up. No party is perfect but how Congress deliberately avoids to bring their talented people at the forefront is a serious problem to solve for the party.

I fully agree with this. So many vote catchers have been let go by Rahul's pig headedness and that is showing in their results at ballot box.

No way Scindia and Pilot should have been handed wooden spoons after their stellar role in Congress' wins in these 2 states especially Pilot while Kamalnath & Gehlot been made CMs of MP & Rajasthan, respectively.

You do have to reward people in politics with posts especially to younger netas or else restlessness will grow.

Who knows Pilot too might have joined sanghi ranks by now had Vasundhara Raje not been active in Rajasthan politics!

The Congress should stop trying to build a personality cult around Rahul Gandhi, like the BJP did with Modi. They are failing spectacularly in that. It's better if they focused on the negatives of present government, and on how a Congress government would be a better alternative. Yet, all they seem to do is Modi bashing.

They need someone smart at the helm, like Sashi Tharoor.

Agree. It's a bad move then to let Scindia go. His family have a legacy with Congress. And it will be a bad move not to address the relationship with Pilot. Pilot is a true charismatic personality that they should leverage. But I won't be surprised if Pilot gets into an understanding with BJP or AAP. Infact his buddy Scindia can broker between his aunt and friend behind the scenes. Question for BJP as well can they keep Raje on their side while also brokering a deal with Pilot. Getting a leader like Pilot will balance the hardcore elements that are gaining control within BJP. Getting Pilot may also open up options for them for a future deal with Abdullahs. Could be an interesting development in that region for both state and national elections in next 1 year.

5 upcoming infrastructure projects in India that could spur growth

Infrastructure Projects In India: Infrastructure development is the driving force of the economy. Addressing a post-Budget webinar on infrastructure and investment last week, PM Modi said that infrastructure development will help India become a developed country by 2047.

Notably, the Modi government’s capital expenditure has increased five times as compared to 2013-14. Under the National Infrastructure Pipeline, the government is aiming to invest Rs 110 lakh crore in the coming time.

1. Chenab River Railway Bridge
The Chenab River Railway Bridge is a part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link project. Once it becomes operational, 1.3-km long bridge will connect Kashmir with the rest of India. Chenab River Railway Bridge is a joint venture of Afcons Infrastructure (India), VSL India and Ultra Construction and Engineering company from South Korea. It is likely to open by end of 2023.

2. Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL)
The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) would be the longest sea bridge in the country. The maritime link will connect Mumbai to Navi Mumbai. It will cut the two-hour travel time between South Mumbai and Navi Mumbai to just 20 minutes. It is scheduled to open in December 2023.

3. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is a 1,350-km long expressway, connecting New Delhi with the country's financial capital Mumbai. The foundation stone of the project was laid by Union Mnister Nitin Gadkari in March 2019. The 8-lane wide which is expandable to 12-lane is likely to become fully operational by January 2024. Earlier in February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 246-km long Sohna–Dausa–Lalsot stretch of the expressway.

4. Inland Waterways Development
The government is focusing on increasing the movement through river systems. The aim is to utilise inland waterways to improve cargo and passenger vessels movement at cheap transportation cost. The government has plans to construct 111 National Waterways in the country to enable easier movement. Under the government’s ‘Arth Ganga’ model, as many as 62 jetties will be developed along the river Ganga to facilitate passenger and cargo-vessel movement.

5. Kochi Water Metro
The Kochi Water Metro is an integrated ferry transport project by the Kochi Metro Rail Limited. It will connect 10 islands along a network of routes that span 78-km. As many as 78 battery-operated electric hybrid boats will ply along 38 terminals. The project obtained the final environment clearance in October 2019. It is expected that services will be launched later this year.

Besides, the construction work on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet train corridor is in full swing. The bullet train project is one of India's most anticipated projects. The project was initially introduced for a feasibility study in 2009–2010 Rail Budget. This is the first bullet train corridor in India.

Inflation drops to 15-month low of 5.66% in March as food prices ease

Retail inflation eased to a 15-month low of 5.66 percent in March, slipping below the upper threshold of the Reserve Bank of India’s medium-term 4+/- 2 percent target, largely due to base effect and lower food prices including cereals and milk, data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) on Wednesday showed. Separately released data by the NSO showed factory output grew 5.6 percent in February as against 1.2 percent a year ago and 5.5 percent a month ago, with manufacturing recording a growth of 5.3 percent aided by a low base of 0.2 percent.

Headline retail inflation has now returned to the RBI’s tolerance range after a gap of two months, with even core inflation — non-food, non-fuel component — easing to an 18-month low. Inflation is likely to remain below 6 percent in the coming months, helped by a high base, which may prompt the RBI to maintain pause in the next monetary policy review in June, experts said. However, some experts cautioned that RBI’s next policy action would also be data dependent, linked to the trajectory of the monsoon and crude oil prices, which still pose a risk to inflation.

“Unless the feared heatwave leads to a rapid rise in prices of perishables, inflation may report a substantial base-effect led drop to around 5.0-5.2% in the next two prints, which will reinforce the MPC’s decision to pause in April 2023. With reasonably healthy reservoir levels, and the El Nino expected to materialise only in the second half of the monsoon season, kharif sowing may not be impacted. However, any subsequent deficiency in monsoon rainfall could affect yields and food inflation, which along with any further hardening in crude oil prices remains a risk for the inflation trajectory,” Aditi Nayar, Chief Economist, ICRA said.

Retail inflation based on the Combined Price Index (Combined) had risen to 6.95 percent in March 2022 from 6.07 percent in February 2022 and then stayed above 7 percent-mark during April-June 2022.

In March 2023, food inflation, based on consumer food price index, eased to 4.79 percent from 5.95 percent a month ago and 7.68 percent a year ago. Among the sub-groups, while vegetables continued to remain in deflationary mode for the fifth consecutive month at (-)8.51 percent, cereals inflation marked the reversal of an increasing trend of nine months by moderating to 15.27 percent from 16.73 percent. Inflation rate for milk and products also eased marginally to 9.31 percent in March from 9.65 percent in February. Clothing and footwear inflation eased to 8.18 percent in March from 8.79 percent a month ago, while fuel and light inflation rate moderated to 8.91 percent from 9.9 percent.

“It appears that the government interventions have helped in arresting increasing inflation of cereals and products. Impact on abnormal heat conditions in March and unseasonal rains did not have any impact on wheat pieces. Progress of the 2023 monsoon will have some impact on 2023 cereals and products inflation,” Sunil Sinha, Principal Economist, India Ratings and Research said.

In the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), in absolute terms, it decreased to 138.7 in February from 146.9 in January but was higher than 131.4 in February 2022. Manufacturing, which accounts for 77.6 percent of the weight of the IIP, decreased to 136.8 in February from 144.8 in January but was higher than 129.9 in February 2022. In percentage terms, manufacturing grew 5.3 percent in February as against 4.0 percent a month ago and 0.2 percent a year ago.

“The slowdown in manufacturing was particularly prominent in export-oriented sectors – such as textiles, leather and pharmaceuticals – as weak external demand weighed on production. Some signs of softening were also visible in manufacturing of electrical equipment, electronics and vehicles. This is corroborated by capital goods imports data, which showed continued expansion in February in y/y terms, albeit at a slower pace. Similar to the trend seen in manufacturing, mining and electricity output growth remained steady on a y/y basis, but declined sharply in m/m terms,” Rahul Bajoria, MD & Head of EM Asia (ex-China) Economics, Barclays said.

Free speech advocates have criticised the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s recent amendments to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 that will allow a government-notified fact-checking unit to tag Union government-related news as “fake news”.

This amendment, notified on April 6, could severely hurt news reporting and free speech on the internet, as reported earlier by Scroll.

On Thursday, the Centre amended the 2021 intermediary rules to regulate online gaming and news relating to the Union government. The rules also say that the Union Ministry of Information Technology will notify a fact-checking body with the power to tag any information “in respect of any business of the Central government” as “fake or false or misleading”.

Intermediaries, which include social media platforms, e-commerce companies and web-hosting services, will then be obligated to ensure that no user hosts, displays or shares information that has been tagged as “fake” or “misleading”.

The Union government has the sole discretion to decide which of its bodies will tag news related to the Centre as “fake”.

Bhakts and their Godi media are quick to post and hype any random nobody ex-Congressman joining the BJP, even if they were previously in political oblivion.

All are quiet like little mice now about the spectacular coups engineered by DK in Karnataka, most notably Laxman Savadi and Jagadish Shettar.

Amit Shah must be furious. All his ED/IT raids haven't deterred DK and he continues from where he left off in Gujarat where he poured cold water on Shah's shining head :)))

Do you think jumping of ship by Shettar & Savadi will impact these elections?

I just find them turncoats who switched sides only due to them being denied tickets by their former political owners. I don't see any difference between them and Congress turncoats.

Yes, this duo is prominent Lingayat face in the region and may get some extra Lingayat votes to Congress but that's about it.

Cong slams Jaishankar over reply to Siddaramaiah's Sudan tweet

The Congress on Wednesday slammed External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for accusing former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of politicising the issue of Indians stranded in Sudan, saying it was an 'appalling response' to a 'genuine appeal' for assistance.

The Opposition party lashed out at the Modi government over the issue, saying the problem with most of ministers is that they are so eager to prove their loyalty to 'their master and be his voice' that they have forgotten that they are sworn to certain responsibilities.

Hitting back at Jaishankar, Siddaramaiah said, 'Since you are the External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar I have appealed you for help. If you are busy getting appalled please point us to the person who can help us bring our people back.'

Tagging Jaishankar's tweet accusing Siddaramaiah of politicising the issue, Congress general secretay Jairam Ramesh tweeted, 'A most appalling response from the External Affairs minister to a former CM with a genuine appeal. This level of nastiness from a man I have known so very well, who has developed new loyalties and who wants to show that in whatever he says and does.'

Looks like Congressis have found their voice on social media. Well responded by Sidda to the newly minted stooge who has said on record that he owes his EAM post to feku.

He is simply showing his loyalty to his master especially since Karnataka elections are just round the corner.

I just met a friend yesterday whose cousin was given a ticket (Congress). He is expected to lose to the BJP candidate, but overall the mood is apparently one of confidence. These turncoats are more an embarrassment to the BJP than anything else. The Congress have anyway been building their Lingayat presence in recent times.

So yeah, the view is, BJP is getting the boot this time. Only issue is CM candidate. Siddu hasn't backed down and some feel DK is better at organizational things than being the CM.

Do you think ending minority quota of 4% and merging it into Vokkaligas and Lingayats' quota will pay any electoral dividends to PayCM?

Also, no way JD(S) should win any significant number of seats in these elections which allows them to play kingmakers yet again.

Knowing the Congress there will be a war post elections between SR and DK, and Amit Shah will swoop in and hire the one he needs, Scindia style.

This is in Court now. The Congress have been calling for a caste census first.

Yeddy is the biggest and most popular Lingayat leader. He almost singlehandedly built the BJP here. Not many are happy with the way he was forced out. There's also the matter of 40% not even sparing the mathas. One of their seers publicly once even alleged they were asked to pay a 40% commission :apology

Haryana finds no violation in Vadra-DLF land deal

No violation of rules or regulations were found in the transfer of land by businessman Robert Vadra's Skylight Hospitality to realty major DLF, the Haryana government has told the Punjab and Haryana high court in Chandigarh.

The investigation was linked to a first information report (FIR) registered against former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, and some others in September 2018 in Gurugram.

In an affidavit placed before the court on Wednesday, the government said, "It was reported by Tehsildar, Manesar, Gurugram that M/s Skylight Hospitality sold 3.5-acre land to M/s DLF Universal Limited on September 18, 2012, and no regulation/rules have been violated in the said transaction."

However, the Haryana Police is probing the record of financial transactions that had taken place during the said deal.

"A new SIT has been constituted on 22.03.2023 comprising DCP, two ACPs, one Inspector and one ASI for further investigation," states the affidavit.

The Bharatiya Janata Party had alleged irregularities in the land deals during the then Congress regime in Haryana and it became a major poll issue during the 2014 elections.

lol, minions would be devastated to know this. After all, that's how feku fooled them with in 2014.

But knowing minions and how seriously mentally challenged they are, I know they'll still blindly believe what their feku wants them to.

Now the so-called Chanakya of Indian politics threatening Kannadigas for not to vote for Congress,

If Congress Comes To Power...": Amit Shah's Warning In Karnataka

Bagalkote: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said if the Congress comes to power in Karnataka, dynastic politics will be at an all-time high in the state and it will be "afflicted with riots".

Addressing a public meeting at Terdal in Belagavi district, the former BJP chief also said the development of the state will be on the "reverse gear" if the Congress forms the government.

Seeking the people's mandate for "political stability" in Karnataka that would vote on May 10, Mr Shah said that only BJP can lead the state towards 'New Karnataka'.

"If the Congress comes to power, dynastic politics will be at an all-time high and Karnataka will be afflicted with riots," added Mr Shah, one of the party's key poll strategists and campaigners.

"If Congress comes to power by mistake then corruption will be all time high and there will be 'appeasement'," said Mr Shah, who is on a two-day tour of Karnataka to hold a series of public meetings, roadshows and review meetings with his party leaders.

lol, motabhai forgot that Bommai is son of ex Karnataka CM, S R Bommai and is as much of a dynast as anyone else is.

And how did he say anything about corruption and lack of religious harmony with a straight face with Bommai as current CM?

Of course there are no bigger liars than sanghis in this entire universe.

And this guy's son is a BCCI bigwig for years. Does he really have guts to call anyone else a dynast?

What hypocrites sanghis are?

Yeah, but the BJP have gone aggressive in their attempts to influence. Couple personal examples.

Mom goes for yoga to a place down the road that is run by the RSS. I mean, it's open to all, but they run the place. Couple days back, the local RSS head came over and started some long stories about how we need the BJP in Karnataka because that would help strengthen the central government and therefore India globally.

He also educated everyone on how the Indian passport was now recognized globally because of Modi - not sure what he meant - was the Indian pp blacklisted in some countries earlier but now moved to some favored status :)) But the best bit was how there now is light at the end of the tunnel thanks to Modi.

We are in the tunnel because of him sir :apology

2nd example: Grandparents are old and there is some facility now where they'll come home and take your vote (mostly apartments). While filling up the form, I'd given my number as contact. Day before, late in the night, around 9:45 pm this election agent calls me asking when they can come the next day. Towards the end of the conversation, he slips in - Please help the BJP. We need your help this time. I politely told him this wasn't right what he was doing - he agreed but said, I'm actually from the BJP lol.

I'd mentioned this as a conspiracy theory some time back, that they would perhaps try and either influence old people or actually cast the vote on their behalf, especially in the cases of those with poor eyesight or who weren't completely in their senses. So...

Setback for ruling BJP in Karnataka? Key takeaways from opinion polls

At least three opinion polls or pre-election surveys have predicted that the Congress would return to power in the state.
Key takeaways from recent opinion polls on Karnataka assembly election 2023

1. According to the ABP News-CVoter opinion poll, out of 224 assembly seats in Karnataka, the Congress may win between 107 and 119 seats. The BJP is likely to bag 74 to 86 seats, while the JD(S) can secure 23 to 35 seats.

The poll suggests the ruling BJP could be five per cent behind the Congress in terms of vote share. The Congress could end up securing a 40 per cent vote share, while the BJP 35 per cent. The JD(S) may get 17 per cent of the votes.

Seats share (total seats – 224)
BJP: 74 to 86 seats

Congress:107 to 119 seats

JD(S): 23 to 35 seats

Others: 0 to 5 seats

Vote share
BJP - 35%

Congress - 40%

JD(S) - 17%

Others – 8%

2. Another opinion by India Today-CVoter predicted that the ruling BJP is likely to lose the assembly election in Karnataka. According to the opinion poll, the BJP is expected to get just 74-86 seats, down 24 from what the party had got in 2018.

Congress: 107-119

BJP: 74-86

JD(S): 23-35

Vote share

Congress: 40%

BJP: 35%

JD(S): 17%

According to the opinion poll, Congress leader Siddaramaiah is the most favoured leader with 42 per cent for the chief minister's post followed by BJP's Basavraj Bommai (31 per cent).

3. A pre-poll survey conducted by the Kannada outlet Eedina said the Congress appears to be headed for a clear and comfortable majority with 32-140 seats. The BJP is predicted to win 57-65 seats, with a vote share of 33 per cent.

4. Kannada news channel Suvarna News 24x7 and Jan Ki Baat also conducted their second and final pre-poll survey and it predicted that the BJP will emerge as the single-largest party in the May 10 poll. The pre-poll however placed Congress slightly ahead of BJP in terms of vote share.

5. Zee News-Matrize Karnataka elections opinion poll released on Monday claimed that the ruling BJP will emerge as the single-largest party, followed by the Congress and the JD(S) in the assembly elections.

Did you see the way feku is trying to communally polarizing Karnataka assembly elections by invoking Lord Hanuman? Is this the last throw of dice?

Only an out and out bigot can call Bajrang Dal hoodlums as devotees of Lord Hanuman.

Someone tweeted this,

Does the PM know Ram naam is not the same as Ram Sena, Bajrangbali not equal to Bajrang Dal. The latter, the Dal has repeatedly shown itself to be above law. Increasingly it has been criminalised. When BJP split the Shiv Sena was it insulting Lord Shiva?
Utter nonsense

Well said, lol. That's why it pays to be educated which clearly feku isn't.

sanghi stooges didn't like the truth,

The Election Commission has issued a notice to the Karnataka Congress over its "corruption rate card" advertisements published in newspapers targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party and sought "empirical" evidence to prove its allegations by Sunday evening.

BJP seeks EC action against Sonia Gandhi for reference to Karnataka’s ‘sovereignty’, but she never used word

Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) filed a case with the Election Commission Monday, seeking exemplary punitive action against the Congress and its former president Sonia Gandhi for making ‘secessionist’ remarks in poll-bound Karnataka.

It attacked the Congress for the purported use of the word ‘sovereignty’ claiming that Gandhi mentioned about it in her speech at Hubballi in Karnataka on Saturday evening.

In her complaint, BJP election management committee convener Shobha Karandlaje urged the poll panel to direct registration of FIR against Gandhi for making such a statement and to “take exemplary punitive action”.

Karnataka has never voted an incumbent party to power since 1985.

As soon as the polling is declared closed, agencies like CVoter, Lokniti-CSDS, Axis My India and Today's Chanakya are expected to release their exit poll results on TV channels.

But surely people should use common sense. I mean its 2023 and who votes for Congress? :)))

Unless ofcourse you are one of the following -

1) Anti-National who wants country to burn

2) Anti-Hindu who want majority to become 2nd grade citizen

3) Corruption lovers who want loot money

4) Darbaaris who are paid servants of Gandhi family

5) Champagne sipping elitists whose own bank accounts are safe in foreign investments but want the country to remain poor

I don't find a single reason why people would reject BJP otherwise which has transformed India for greater good and vote for a corrupt party.

There is no big reason.
People want to see a different party in power after every 5 years just like our TN.

Nice to see Rahul Gandhi has finally developed a personality and a sense of humour.

There's a reason I've been propping him up here for a few years now.

You don't develop these things.

He's just more confident now.

And the BJP top-brass unlike their bhakts are smart and have known this for a while. Hence the systematic targeting of what seemed to most like a joker of a guy.
