Lucknow Super Giants were clinical while registering a 33-run win over Gujarat Titans in their IPL 2024 match at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday. The Gujarat side could not mount a strong chase of 164, and ended at 130 all out as LSG's pacer Yash Thakur (5 for 30) and spinner Krunal Pandya (3 for 11) came up with impactful efforts. Meanwhile, Yash also became the first bowler in IPL 2024 to bowl a double wicket maiden.

For GT, only opener B Sai Sudharsan (31) could offer some resistance. Earlier, Marcus Stoinis made a fine fifty as LSG made 163 for five. LSG rode on Stoinis' (58) solid effort to reach a par total. Other contributions came from skipper KL Rahul (33) and Nicholas Pooran (32). For GT, pacers Umesh Yadav and Darshan Nalkande took two wickets apiece.

South African fast bowler Lizaad Williams was on Monday roped in by Delhi Capitals as a replacement for batter Harry Brook in the ongoing Indian Premier League after the Englishman withdrew from the tournament to grieve his grandmother's death. (Full Coverage | Cricket News)

Since making his international debut in 2021, the 30-year-old Williams has represented South Africa in two Tests, four ODIs and 11 T20 Internationals. He has joined Delhi Capitals at his base price of Rs 50 lakh.

"Lizaad Williams, the South African fast bowler, has been signed by the Delhi Capitals as a replacement for England's Harry Brook for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024," the franchise said in a statement.

NIce feet movement. I followed him in under-19. As a 16 year old opener he was impressive. His only issue was power hitting. Now that he has put on some muscles, he is shaping to be a next big thing. Hope he proceeds to next level. India is going through transition. Right tiime to put up some numbers

Gill's game actually was good when he was young. He picked up some bad habits while adding power to his game. He has to rework again. I see some improvements already. But he does have issue switching between formats.

IPL 2024: Punjab and Haryana High Court urged to stop matches​


A public interest litigation (PIL) petition has been filed before the Punjab and Haryana High Court to restrain the conduct of any cricket matches at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium at Mullanpur.

The plea filed by Nikhil Thamman, a final-year law student of UILS, Panjab University, stated that the cricket stadium was constructed without necessary environmental clearances and in blatant violation of the Environment Impact Assessment Notification of 2006.

The plea highlighted that the stadium fell within 10 kilometers of a bird sanctuary in Sector-21, Chandigarh, which meant that prior environmental clearance ought to have been obtained from the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) in line with a Supreme Court directive. This has not been done, Thamman has submitted.

It has further been contended that an essential forest and wildlife clearance from the Department of Forest and Wildlife, Chandigarh, has not been obtained for the construction of the stadium.

Thamman goes on to recount that several cricket matches and tournaments have already been conducted at the stadium, including a Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket match last month.

He has further noted that more IPL matches are scheduled to be conducted at the stadium soon, featuring the Punjab Kings XI team (for which the stadium falls on home-ground).

Thamman has now prayed that the Court issue directions to restrain the conduct any more cricket matches at the stadium.

In view of the ongoing IPL season, the petitioner has also called on the Court to direct the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) and others responsible to not host further IPL matches at the stadium.

Further, he has urged the Court to order for appropriate legal action to be taken against those authorities who allowed the unauthorised construction of the stadium and for allowing cricket matches to be held at such an arena. Moreover, the petitioner has sought for a direction to halt any further construction of the stadium.

The petition has been filed through advocates Sunaina, Abhishek Khurana and Narinder Singh.

Chennai Super Kings secured a convincing seven-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in their IPL 2024 match. Opting to bowl first, CSK's bowlers put up an impressive performance, restricting Kolkata Knight Riders to a mere 137 for 9.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad played a crucial role in the chase, scoring an unbeaten half-century (67) to anchor the innings. Shivam Dube also contributed significantly, smashing 28 runs off just 18 balls. Their efforts led CSK to their third victory of the season, bringing an end to KKR's winning streak.

Earlier in the match, Ravindra Jadeja and pacer Tushar Deshpande were the standout bowlers for CSK. Jadeja finished with figures of 3/18, while Deshpande picked up 3/33, putting pressure on the KKR batting lineup. For Kolkata Knight Riders, skipper Shreyas Iyer was the top scorer with a 32-ball 34.
 
So RCB is doing RCB thing but it is pretty surprising to see MI at number 4 atm. Hardik's appointment is not doing any good for MI.

Rcb doesn't have the bowlers to win the trophy just look at their bowling line up this year rcb 2009 team was really good after that they not good enough

SRH in deep trouble. The cream of their batting gone before Powerplay even ended.
 
Not convinced that Sam Curran is a good investment, he is hit and miss with the bat.
 
These unknown players are much better match winners than some of the big names going around in India.

Man, Just became a huge fan of both Shashank and Ashutosh. Just brilliant. They need to come up the order if PBKS wants to win more.

Dhawan, Prabhsimran, Sam Curran are just wasting deliveries at the top. They are the culprits and has been consistently losing matches for PBKS.

Yeah, Dhawan especially. He has scored a couple of big knocks, but too slow
 
I am never interested in watching matches involving SRH, DC, RR, and Punjab. They somehow feel boring.
Punjab team used to be enjoyable to watch in the past, but they have completely lost their appeal.

Yes, they have been very good this season. Of course, they have been pretty good in the last few seasons as well. But I don't believe in Samson's captaincy; he has faltered in crucial matches every season, and I believe they will do the same this time as well.
 
Young Nitish Reddy displayed tremendous character during a vital 37-ball 64, helping Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secure a two-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS). The match was a see-sawing affair with both teams putting up a spirited fight.

Sent in to bat, the 20-year-old Reddy was the saving grace for SRH, lifting them to a respectable total of 182/9. This came after PBKS had the visitors reeling at 66 for four in the 10th over. However, PBKS were not to be outdone easily. They managed to put up a fight and reached 180/6, thanks largely to a whirlwind 66-run partnership between the heroes of their last match, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma.

Shashank scored an impressive 46 not out off just 25 balls, while Ashutosh contributed a quickfire 33 not out off 15 balls. This partnership brought PBKS back into contention and set up a thrilling finish to the match. Needing 29 runs in the last over bowled by Jaydev Unadkat, SRH's fielding let them down as they dropped three catches. This allowed Shashank and Ashutosh to come within touching distance of pulling off another stunning win for PBKS. Fortunately for SRH, they managed to hold their nerve and clinch the victory by a narrow margin of two runs.
 
Reddy could have easily knocked it around for a 40 ball 50 and would have been appreciated by everyone considering the situation. Played a fearless knock just like Shashank did the other day and later today with Ashutosh.Thats why I hate these selfish stat padding seniors kohli klrahul jadeja pandya in leagues or otherwise. They just won't play like this ever. And dissappointly all these 4 senior leeches will be in the Ind t20wc squad and will lose another WC for Ind
 
Also cant believe useless Unadakat is picked over Umran malik by SRH. Almost didnt defend 29 runs in the last over. Damn 29 runs! SRH just won by 2 runs. No way Umran could have bowled worse than this useless bowler. SRH should give a consistent run of atleast 6-7 matches for Umran.
 
Umran Malik was dropped since he gave 15 runs in his solitary over against MI in that super high scoring game

But Unadkat will surely continue after his performance tonight as he "heroically" defended 29 runs even after bowling 2 wides..

No chance winning T20WC this time. The way T20 needs to be played has changed. I dont mind Kohli in run chances.
