Yes I understand but the deliveries were trash - short half trackers that deserved to be dispatched. The thing was it felt that even 29 was not safe when unadkat was bowling. 29 to defend should have been closed out- that's been my gripe.

Yes this "par" score nonsense is nothing.. 200 should be rhe target eveey t20 game. No assessing and getting to 165 or 170. Blaming the pitch and dew has become fashionable for ind captains in the ipl..

Exactly. The assessing the situation and then setting the target is a recipe to lose the match before it even starts. The idea should be to take no more than 3 or 4 deliveries to see how the pitch is behaving and then play attacking shots accordingly. Other than Ahishek and Jaiswal, the rest of the Indian openers are too slow to get off the mark in T20 cricket.

Can't blame unadkat there, 2 of them dropped catches palm over to boundary.. catching is awful in this tournament so far..

Unadkat was bowling hit me balls. It was just that Ashutosh Sharma was tired and could not generate enough power to send them long. You saw the last ball when Shashank played and he deposited the ball 20 rows back.

Jaiswal plays too many low percentage and stupid shots. He needs to improve his shot selection.

Parag is the most improved cricketer in IPL this season. He has really worked hard on his game.
 
What a rubbish batsman Sai Sudarshan is. He is test material, not good for the white-ball format. Old man Saha is much better than him at opening.
I don't understand why they are opening with Sai Sudarshan over Wade.

He is not rubbish. Far from it. He doesn’t have the brute force to hit big. He is more of a boundary hitter. He is only 20 I think. Needs to put on some muscle.
 
5th ball is a poor delivery tbh, otherwise excellent over by Avesh Khan so far..

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal extended his low-scoring run in the Indian Premier League 2024 as Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals lost both of their openers inside the powerplay. While Gujarat Titans pacer Umesh Yadav got the better of Jaiswal, spin wizard Rashid Khan won his battle against Jos Buttler in the sixth over. After rain playing spoilsport in Jaipur, Gujarat Titans skipper invited RR to bat at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Accelerating the RR innings with quick-fire knocks after the powerplay, premier batter Riyan Parag (76) and skipper Samson (68 not out) enjoyed a 130-run stand in Rajasthan's fortress. Samson and Parag stitched the second-highest partnership for RR (for third or lower wicket) as the 2008 champions posted 196/3 in 20 overs. With 18 runs and a wicket of Buttler in his four overs, spinner Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers for GT.

Leading the batting charge of the Gujarat Titans, skipper Shubman played a stroke-filled knock off 72 off 44 balls. The GT skipper also became the youngest Indian batter to complete 3,000 runs in the IPL. Staging Rajasthan Royals' comeback, spinner Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Gill in the 16th over. However, the batting exploits of Rahul Tewatia (22) and Rashid Khan (24*) sealed a famous three-wicket win for the 2022 winners. Rashid smashed a boundary on the final ball to hand RR their first defeat of the new season.

IPL has been immensely boring to watch this season .. same' ol surfeit of fours and sixes.
 
This shows the importance of having bowlers who can bat like Rashid Khan.

If India picks these 4 bowlers - Bumrah, Kuldeep, Siraj, Chahal for T20 WC, India would badly lose the match in the same situation that Titans were in .

Siraj is not needed for T20s... Pandya can do whatever he does (more effectively). Similarly out of Chahal & Kuldeep only 1 is enough (at the moment Kuldeep - who is in form), India should develop a good part-time spinner (like Yuvaraj, Sehwag, Raina, etc). Only 2 frontline bowlers are enough for T20s...

Parag is serviceable "spinner".
 
With dew being a factor, RCB lost this match even before they came to bat.

he pitch itself is an absolute belter, a batting paradise. It's been a high-scoring ground, both teams could go aggressive against the new ball in the powerplay. Not much spin, just a beautiful batting wicket. It's a no-brainer, the captain winning the toss would opt to bowl first. :leo

Boult normally don't bowl at death for RR.. Match lost mainly due to Parag and Butler pressurized Kuldeep unnecessarily..

Ego... Tendulkar had the same ego when he continued to open the innings in ODIs when the model/demands of ODI kept changing... Its simple, they want to maintain the stats & brand (at the cost of team). Even 95% of dumb fans are into this (hero worshipping).

You are talking about old Boult. He has been one of the best death bowler in cricket leagues going around. He has vastly improved as a death bowler.
 
These are the little things which disturb the flow in a team... If Will Jacks was opening straight away he wouldn't have been in this pressure!
 
RCB is a pathetic team. Too many accumulators with a weak bowling lineup. They deserve to languish at the bottom of the table.

This is RCB's constant mistake! They never try to identify a proper young Indian batsman to open the innings. They always go with Kohli & partner him with a foreign player. Even when Gayle was opening, Kohli was partnerning him...

Yes they will anyhow end up scoring 180ish at the most! And any opponent will salivate their lips looking at RCB bowlers on such pitches with dew chasing below 200... Unless there is a Siraj special dream spell (it is bound to happen at least once in bluemoon... perhaps once in a tournament) this match is already gone out of their hands!
 
That's at least a much better innings (Patidar) compared to Kohli. SR of 200... and others have overs to play...

Maybe but he bowled at death only once this year (16th over vs Mumbai)..
