What's new

[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Saim Ayub - the real deal or a flash in the pan?

As long as he never ever emulate Mis-Bab, he will be an asset for our LOI teams. He is one of the best alrounders in the world as of now in S.Asian conditions.

his batting inconsistency is frustrating, but his all round contribution is irreplaceable. if he gets his batting form back hes one of the most valuable players in the world. as it is his all round contribution is still good by pakistani standards.

Big money player

Reminds me of Tendulkar during the 2004-6 era when he was India’s prime all rounder lol. Used to open the innings and play great knocks. Then he would be depended on as a key 10 over bowler through the middle with Harbajhan and other spinners

Jaysuriya as well. More than handy left arm slow bowler alongside his gun batting up front.

*not that Saim is on the level of these 2 legends. I’m merely talking about utility.

Will go in history books as the biggest game changing white ball spinner source Warny, Saqi, Narine and Kuldeep.

Sorry dear,
I thought I was posting about Abrar Khan.

Saim is a match winner in white ball cricket and together with Abrar, this is a Pakistan’s best match winning duo.

Saim just needs to keep doing what he did in the last game.. I don't want him to jeopardize his batting for the sake of bowling a few overs. His priority should be to bat well. His overs and wickets will be game changing after

It's been a long time since we have a player grow and develop in international cricket and learn something new.

He's became a handy bowler

Not many players in cricket bat in powerplay and then bowl in powerplay.

His utility is criminally underrated.

Thats why i consider him a generational talent along with hassan nawaz.
Yeah Nawaz should be backed same as way as Saim has.

In T20 cricket players will fail more than they perform. But if they can perform big when they perform the should be in the team.

I’ve never seen non Pakistani commentators bring up Saim’s recent failures or inconsistency whenever he plays. The only thing they talk about his ability and talent in front of them. Thats what matters, what you can do on the day. The damage you are capable of inflicting matters.

well non pakistanis only notice him when he does well, foreign fans are always more tolerant of others teams players failures than their own.

True but Saim Ayub is young and has a lot of games ahead of him before these non-Pak fans and commies even get to that stage.

Might be the only batsman in this side who looks genuinely world-class when he gets going/is in-form.

We have many medicore spin all rounders.

We urgently need top order batters.

He should have focused exclusively on his batting and become technically sound and consistent. He has talent but he needs to focus.

he looks a decent player. But my requirement for a modern day allrounder is that they should be able to get into the team on one skill alone. He won't be your primary bowler or your primary top order bat. SO that is concerning. He is young and decently talented. He can make a good career out of what he has got.

Zero temperament and game awareness is as bad as a gully cricketer. Archer setting him up so nicely summed up the World Cup for this over-rated player.

This is what happens when we pick players for international cricket on the basis of potential.

Also looks to be mentally weak and doesn’t have the resolve to work on his game. Keeps getting out the exact same way as he was six months ago.

Waste of space.

Saim is young and he has a long career ahead of him. He will face setbacks and he’ll learn. Fans expect instant gratification because, well, they’re fans. But give him time. He’ll mature and begin to do better. Good luck to him.

Saim has been like Shahid Afridi in terms of performance. Handy spinner and a very attacking (yet inconsistent) batter.

Saim the domestic bully??? Failed badly when it mattered the most but now getting his form back all of sudden... good good

My way is tulla way.. What a clownish way to get out. Another no-look embarrassment.

All that training in rain for Saim ayub to end up playing this senseless shot, He had already made up his mind for the no look and Peter siddle is not your Aamer Jamals or Wasim jr's, That guy actually has a brain.
