InshaAllah the natural partner with Shaheen Afridi for the next decade

Looking forward to his celebrations and a proud day for Sindh also.

Will learn very quickly that short balls don't work at the international level( unless they are used as surprise balls)

Great celebrations on his maiden wicket

I noticed he bowled at start of innings, did he get any swing? How did he bowl overall? Where can you see room for improvement?

This guy should be bowling in all 3 formats

Looks a bit like Andy caddick

Great delivery, loved the passion in the celebration , he seems like one of the genuinely nice guys in cricket and someone who will work hard to ensure he gets the best out of himself, looking forward to seeing how he develops

Gets a decent amount of bounce for someone who is not actually that tall. Has all the ingredients to be a quality fast bowler, although I wish the PCB had sent him home to play QeA trophy games instead of taking him along for T20s

How tall is he?
How fasr was he bowling?
Any movement on his deliveries?

Thanks in advance!

started his international career with a 90 mph delivery , was consistently around and over 90 mph for the first two overs that I saw.

Got movement and bounce.

My worry for him is that he bowls too short and that isn't a recipe for success at the higher level against good players. Hopefully he will learn quickly because he has the makings of a solid bowler.

I just feel while it's early days, he will need a few more tricks up his sleeve, but hopefully that will come with more experience and time.

Very quick Dahani

Good this bowler is good. Really good. Still early days but I love watching him bowl.

Miles ahead of the other pacers (or spinners) today

Finishes on 1/23 from 4 overs. Looked a class apart from all other bowlers.

Still very early in his career. But he already looks like our best bowler after Shaheen. Great pace, ability to bowl yorkers at the death. I am excited for his future. It’s annoying that rubbish like Wasim and Harris Rauf got to play over him.

To think we had the chance to play him in the semi final of the WT20 instead of Hassan Ali.......

He has great potential. Not the finished article and has a lot to learn. Needs to work on a few things and needs to develop some skills. But has all the basics in place. MUST be given every chance.

Has to be shaheens partner for the odi wc in 23.
Must back him. Has the best raw ingredients.

Love his attitude . . definitely needs to pick up a skill or 2, but what he's got going for him is:
- High pace
- Height and high arm action hence higher bounce
So he can still get away with it . .

He is an absolute must in this team if we're looking ahead to Australia because he'd be tailor-made for those pitches . . He should be playing every single game so he picks up whatever experience he can

I always knew this kid was special, the first time I saw him. Well done, lad! A young Pakistani quick bursting on the scene is always special, something people of my generation live for.

He was consistently bowling around 145 clicks and almost hit 150. Very impressive stuff and he bowled some excellent yorkers. His bowling at the end was a big difference with how close the game ended up being.

Hard not to think he'll in the upcoming WC squad.

Touching close to 150 was indeed very surprising. He's really progressed and it's great to see

Couldn't he be given motm? He bowled well on a pitch that had nothing for the bowlers.

Magnificent bowling. Its time Babar starts playing Dhani as a regular and not warm benches

Dahani is miles ahead of Hasnain. He should be played in all three formats.Hasnain has the pace but needs to learn how to bowl in the right areas.Granted the pitch had nothing for bowlers but Dahani adjusted his lengths and made it hard for the batsmen to score freely.Hasnain needs a lot to learn. If there are any upcoming A tours Hasnain should be included. He should also work with a bowling coach.

This guy should be given more opportunities and not wait for dead rubber games.

Should have replaced Shaheen for the whole T20 series.

This lad has something about him and is eager to learn and improve.

He may act like the comedian at times, but to me he looks like someone who learns quickly.

Deffo should be in the starting 11s going forward
Every time ive seen him bowl hes never looked out of his depth
He already looks intnl standard

RedwoodOriginal - We had a blazing row over Dhani's selection for Zimbabwe but I hope you now see why I backed him. Already he looks streets ahead of Hasnain, Musa and other young pacers who've been around for longer, conceding 23 runs from 4 against WI's powerhitters on a road and ridiculously small boundaries.

From the QEA 19/20 season you could tell he had something special. He was troubling batsmen getting bounce off a good length on dead slow Karachi pitches. Unlike the typical skiddy Pakistani swing bowlers - he hits the pitch hard.

Australia if they tour will be a tough challenge as they play pace well, so that'll be a proper test for him.

We didn't. Not sure how many times this has to be sad, he was in the reserves, only eligible to play if our squad needed someone replaced due to injury ending their tournament.

I'm very impressed by Dahani's development. Besides the talent, his attitude and enthusiasm really stands-out. Seems like a great long-term prospect for Pakistan.

But I am going to stick with my original argument because I simply cannot support the idea of a fast-bowler making his test debut after a handful of FC matches.

On paper playing him in Australia may seem like a good idea. But I feel like the risk of him having an experience similar to that of Naseem or Musa is simply too high.

I would pay to listen to Dahani interview, never mind his lovely pace bowling. What a gem this guy. Has attributes i haven't seen in a Pakistani cricketer for a while.

Dahani should be challenging Wasim,Rauf Hassan Ali for the 3rd/4rd seemer role.come the world cup.A superb bowling spell

Pakistan needs a pool of around six fast bowlers. This will allow Pakistan to rotate the bowlers to manage their load and also provide cover for in case of injuries.

Agreed! The guy obviously loves cricket and his enthusiasm is infectious. Seems a lovely bloke too.

Looking at him, it was obvious he had DNS, glad he took care of it and taking a well deserved rest. Best wishes and goof luck for the busy cricket season ahead.

Ramiz Raja on Dahani:

"Dahani is an inspiration and icon for young cricketers in interior Sindh. He made cricket popular in an area where the game was not well known"

"Thank you so much because now youngsters of Sindh want to play cricket because of you"

Did we miss a trick by not bringing in Dahani for the final ODI in place of Wasim?

I think Dahani warranted a game today. Such are the games to test waters for him.

Hasan Ali has been tormented for a while now, clear he is no T20 bowler but still is persisted with.

That odd six will just prolong his stay. We need him to get back to bowling half decent.

Dhani missed out today as without Hasan/Wasim the tail would have been unfeasibly long.

Will we see Dahani in action for Pakistan today?

Will we see Dahani in action for Pakistan today?

Hopefully but wouldn't surprise me if we didn't.

Remember his last game was an amazing performance vs West Indies (scroll up the thread to refresh your memories guys) and he's been warming the bench since. That's how bad he's been treated.

PCB have confirmed that Dahani will make his ODI debut today

Will we see Dahani in action for Pakistan today?

Yes. I fully expect Shaheen to be rested and for Dahani to come in.

Babar is desperate for Hasan Ali to have one good game somewhere, to justify his continual selection for the next 20 years, and so I fully expect Hasan to play. I hope it’s not at the expense of Dahani though.

Bowling with good speeds and a lot of jazba!

WICKET for Dahani! Hopefully he can replace the poor Hassan Ali long term with a good performance here…

Bowls a 'heavy' ball and at an awkward length for the batters.

Over 140kph too which makes life tough for the opposition.

He's bowling 10kph more than the likes of Hassan Ali.

Dahani is exactly the type of bowler we need

Well absolutely based on his form and his levels of confidence.

Bowling into the pitch in Multan and getting some steep bounce with a lot of pace - very impressive stuff.

He needs to concentrate on a hard length rather than a short length. He should have played quite a few matches by now, instead he is still playing 2nd fiddle to Hasan Ali, a guy that offers little against half decent players

A big hearted bowler. Could actually become our third pacer in tests once he gets his line and length right and starts bowling with more control (something that cant be achieved without playing more FC cricket).

He is a guy who can run in all day and bowl to his max.

In ODIs, we need to find a partner for Shaheen. None of Hasan or Haris are fit for that role. I doubt Wasim has found that controlled swing with which he could be trusted with the new ball.

I'd like selectors to look at Mir Hamza. Get him involved with the NCA coaches and senior teams'. He has very good domestic stats. Bowled with a lot of maturity in PSL for Kings where he was probably the only positive this season.

That steep bounce was visible even on Multan pitch , imagine him , Rauf and Shaheen in Australia

I'd hope both him and Rauf could develop more control and game awareness by then. Otherwise both have a tendency to leak too many easy runs.
