And it seemed the match ended on a lifeless pitch and the final of Pakistan's supposedly most prestigious and premier domestic competition peters out to a dull draw.

These are poor wickets, built on soft base & very little clay content in the soil. Therefore, ball has absolutely no bounce & no "kick" from the wicket. On top of that, these wickets have lots of deep grass-roots which keeps the wicket bonded for 4, 5, 6 even 7 days; unlike Indian wickets which crumbles with the match. Survival on these type of wicket is not tough, at 2 RR.

Since this was D/N match for 5 days; for a short-cut; they put lots of cut grass to give a greenish look, which lasted for an hour on Day 1. Besides, I think the ball they used for the finals was sub-standard; like soft ball - shot making tough, getting batsmen out tougher.

These type of wicket won't produce better pacers than what we are watching now.

They needed a captain like Salman Butt

Salman Butt has to bat all day to save the match and win the trophy.

Currently it is the Dinner break and he has lasted 91 overs and has scored his second century of the Final!

So far he has batted 171 overs in the match without being dismissed by a bowler and scored two centuries.

Shaharyar Khan said he would be selected if he broke down the door.

He has broken down the door, ripped it to shreds and set it on fire.

Butt is not among the top 3 run getters i think in this trophy.Kamran ,Usman,Asif are above and they deserve a call.I agree,it was a special effort from Butt.
