Salam guys I just woke up.What’s the news so far?How many confirmed NA seats?

Results coming thick and fast but still a little wait on confirmed seats.

I can confirm though that PTI has had an incredible night and on course for 125 to 130 seats.

Still no official confirmation of final result. Even if IK/PTI wins other parties will never gracefully accept defeat. I expect protests and allegations galore in the next few days.

Breaking News:

KARACHI HAS REJECTED BILALAWAL BHUTTO. BILLAWAL NOT IN RACE IN ANY OF HIS SEATS.

With the strong showing of PTI in Karachi I hope IK considers Karachi being separated from Sindh at least on administrative basis. So that PPP can no longer rule in all of SIndh while just winning in rural areas.

Depends on Lahore, Sialkot etc and Karachi. If Karachi holds and Lahore comes through on the 2-3 seats (Aleem, Imran, Yasmeen) we are looking upwards of 120.

To people of Karachi

Thank you so much for waking up at last.

Loving it

Some delay on Dr Yasmin seats due to a technical difficulties. Last I saw she was leading but not by much

No surprise, like I said yesterday, they were cooperating, now celebrating with PTI lol, while their leaders cry about rigging :)))

Other parties do not have the kind of street power that PTI had to stage large scale protests.

Still waiting on Lahore to wake up and kick out Noonies.

This is, despite PTI being horrific in Karachi. The vote is for Imran's vision, the party on the ground in Karachi has done almost nothing for people to vote it. Now it's time for them to get into action and build a presence.

Technically only one party has the street power to stage a large scale protest at this point. That's probably MQM, but they're too divided to do so.

Breaking News:

INDEPENDENTS READY TO JOIN PTI IN PUNJAB ASSEMBLY AND FORM PTI PROVINCIAL PUNJAB GOVERNMENT!!!!!!!

What channel are you watching guys? Samaa seems to be showing the same things over and over again.

She went behind again. Currently by 2500 votes.
Oh damn, she needs to win

Absolutely, never expected PTI to win as many seats because the PTI karachi team was awful.

:( she needs to win she should win.

Yep same !!! I just want to see her win, this lady fought tooth and nail for her people. She is a wonderful human being.

Honest to God, if there's one person I wanted to win even more than PTI winning overall, it was Dr.Yasmin. Feel for her, this is like the third time she'll lose by a small margin

Don't lose hope. Comeback could be on.

She is one of the most deserving people! I think she is on the reserve list for Punjab Assembly too, but she really deserves THIS, and I want her in the National Assembly.

As with the World Cup, IK has collected a very good top team.

SMQ will be an excellent Foreign Minister

Asad Umar will be an excellent Finance Minister.

I'm not sure of the guy's name, he was contesting in Punjab, but he would be the perfect Information Minister

Lol, Farooq Sattar touring the area after losing, was at my Mamu's shop and crying about how Army didn't let us campaign and if we complain in media, army will shoot us. Talk about excuses :)))

Fawad Chaudry may become information minister. Has he won his NA seat ?

Really? How would that work? Aren't reserved seats added proportionally?

People who justify the politics of electables should not moan over Dr. Yasmin Rashid loosing from her constituency.

A feeling that I have never had before, a feeling that can't be described.

Thank you Pakistan for choosing the right man!

On to Naya Pakistan!

272 directly elected. Overall total is 342.

Party winning most in directly elected will get most in reserved seats hence more in overall 342 count. So makes it closer to get two thirds majority.

So what is the equation of dividing reserved seats? Do you know how? I have tried without any success :))

Basically the closer you get to 130 and the bigger your margin with party in second position the more reserved seats you win.

That's why PTI are going to get almost 40 reserved seats at this rate!!!

NA-73 Sialkot-II
Khawaja Muhammad Asif 67114 PML-N
Muhammad Usman Dar 61085 PTI

Need a big comeback here :(

Wait, so reserved seats is linked to popular vote too?

People of Pakistan were fed up of the other two parties and have voted for Imran.

People wanted action not **.

So what is the equation of dividing reserved seats? Do you know how? I have tried without any success :))

Its proportional representation.

Minority seats are given on the basis of national results. While women seats are divided on the basis of how well a party performs in a certain province.

According to the constitution, there are 10 minority seats. So, if PTI wins 50% of the 272 directly contested seats, they will get 50% of the minority seats, i.e, 5 seats.

On the women seats, they are divided like this (numbers based on 2002 delims):
Punjab - 35
Sindh - 14
KP - 11 (although this number might change with FATA being part of KP now, previously FATA didn't have any reserved women seats like Islamabad)
Baluchistan - 3
---

So, if PTI wins 40% of Punjab's 141 seats, they will get 14 womens' seats and likewise.

Ok got it, so it's based on the proportion of seats you have. And do you exclude any parties that got below 5% of the vote or something?

Noon League said they'd take over Karanchi......

Maybe they should have focused on keeping Punjab first :)))

Irrespective of the popular vote, you have to have at least 1 seat in the national assembly to be eligible for a reserved one. I don't think there are % cutoffs. Since it is proportional representation, the smaller parties are automatically left behind as the seat fillup progresses down vertically.

They will do this easily.

Independents almost always favour the ruling party.

Exactly. But first chance of govt formation is given to the party with the majority. So, unless the independents quickly join PTI en masse post-elections, PMLN will have first dibs.
