That's an error, Ahmed Nawaz Nuwani got 94000 as an Independent, Nuwani group is very strong and wanted all 6 tickets in Bhakkar, PTI negotiated with Dr Afzal who is much better candidate and most suitable for PTI. His 2 MPAs also joined and another one will possibly join. Great outcome for PTI in the end.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday published the final electoral rolls ahead of General Elections 2018.

According to the rolls, 105.96 million voters will be able to cast their vote in the upcoming elections. Of these, 59.22m are male and 46.73m are females, with the gender gap between male and female rising to around 12.5m.

According to the figures, 55.9 per cent of the registered voters in Pakistan are males while only 44.1pc are females.

The numbers are approximately 23 per cent higher than the figures for the 2013 elections when the total number of voters stood at 86.19m.

Punjab tops the list with the largest number of voters with a total of 60.67m voters (23pc increase from 2013), of which 33.68m are male and 26.99m are female. A total of 22.39m voters (18pc increase over 2013) are registered in Sindh, according to the figures proved by the ECP, of which 12.44m are male and 9.95m are female.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the third largest province of the country, is home to 15.32m registered voters (25pc higher than 2013) including 8.71m male and 6.61m female voters. Balochistan has a total of 4.3m registered voters — 29pc more than 2013 — including 2.49m male and 1.81m female voters.

In the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), 2.51m voters would be able to exercise their right of voting while 0.77m are registered with the ECP from the capital territory.

The publishing of electoral rolls comes as the commission awaits president's final decision on the exact dates of the elections and a name for the caretaker prime minister.

ECP on Monday proposed July 25-27 as possible dates for the upcoming elections and forwarded a summary in this regard to President Mamnoon Hussain, requesting him to set one of the proposed dates as the day of the polls according to Elections Act 2017, Section 57(1).

Interesting. The further south you go- to the heart of the Seraiki belt - the more support there is for PTI. Likely because people of these areas are more in favor of a separate province than, say, areas of Khanewal and Vehari, which have a sizable Punjabi population that isn't quite on the side of breaking up Punjab proper yet.

Even if you watch today's NA-177 survey, you will find that voters with Punjabi accent preferred sher while the Seraiki ones were overwhelmingly in favor of PTI. For the Punjabis living in South Punjab, it is a matter of preserving their hegemony. If South Punjab province is materialized, that dominance would be lost to their Seraiki brethren.

I think PTI need to make a strategy to counter this in these districts with Punjabi influence. It's like Sindhi in Karachi/Hyderabad will never vote for anyone chanting Karachi sooba.

I don't think PTI can hedge their bets anymore. They have announced their commitment for the new province and are now hoping that Seraiki sooba supporters, PTI ideologues, and swing voters can overcome Punjabiat in portions of South Punjab where there is a viable Punjabi representation.

SMQ becomes CM of South Sooba and someone else replace him as Punjab CM? because SMQ MPA seat will come under south.

I don't think SMQ will be made South Punjab CM if he already holds the Punjab CM slot. Maybe SMQ will continue as a adhoc CM even with this SP seat? Or maybe another PTI MPA from the North will resign and SMQ will contest byelections on his seat?

Because as far as my understanding goes the South Punjab CM will definitely be from the JPSM individuals, most likely Khusro Bakhtiyar. If, in the case that PTI doesn't win the rest of Punjab, then there is a possibility that SMQ might get the SP CMship.

He stopped appearing on shows for a year or so (was fighting cancer i believe and have just recovered). I believe IK should ask him not to appear in talkshows anymore.

Not we but Immi himself says that loyalty is a separate thing from merit. That's why Shiri Mazari was placed higher on the women priority list of 2013 GE, which made Fauzia Kasuri vindictive later on. Similarly, we remember that Cheema guy who used to present PTI on screen before 2011, now he is way back in the scheme of things.

Imran indeed sidelined him from spokesman-ship despite his loyalty. Being so close to him Immi must have heard a few thing from him. But Nuh needs to accept and be told plainly that he is not a good debater at all.

PTI with a thin lead in Chistian (Bahawalnagar distt.). A lot of PTI supporters in this survey were against giving ticket to Tahir Bashir Cheema. He has a very bad reputation in the constituency. They thought PTI's own Malik Muzaffar would be a better candidate (got 40k votes in 2013 compared to Cheema's 80k). An important point to consider is that Cheema may enjoy biradri/gath support in rural areas as he got 70k votes in 2008, and the PMLN brand only added 10k to this total 5 years later.

It really is a tight decision for PTI's parliamentary board.
