And just as I'm about to take another breath, another one! :))

More problems for Imran as he decides not just CM Punjab, but a ton of important posts. How he will keep everyone happy in his inner circle.

I think another MPA Hanif Pitafi from DG Khan who own Independent is also joining PTI, remember he was in PTI but didn't get PTI ticket so ran as Independent and joining again.

Ajmal Cheema from Faisalabad was another one who was PTI office bearer but denied PTI ticket, he won as an Independent and joining PTI now.

I wonder why these people didn't get a ticket in the first place?

This is exactly one of this biggest challenges but i think it would be easier than ticket allocation reviewing hundreds of applications.

Just looking through the margins in Sindh, and wow wow wow. IF PTI put up a good show this term, I have absolutely no doubt that we will make inroads in interior Sindh. There are mutiple seats where PTI have taken 40-50k+ votes, and we even only missed out in Sukkur by 6k votes. We also only missed out on the two MQM Hyderabad seats by 8k, and the Hyderabad PPP seat by 20k.

Guys just to be clear

Khawaja Asif vs Usman Dar re-counting will be done only in 15 Polling stations.

And as far i know, today there will be re-counting of
Rana Sana
Saad Rafique
Khaqan Abbasi

constituencies also

How greedy can one get? And how can he just stab PTI in the back? The only reason they are even relevant now is because of that of the seat adjustment with PTI, and now he wants to become CM Punjab with his 7 seats? Ridiculous.

All these independents are making their way to Banigala either by JKT's jet, or by road, in JKT's car. :))

ECP should have set a condition that recounting on any seats is only allowed if both candidates give a written and video recorded testimony that they will ACCEPT the result after the recount. Otherwise what is the point if the loser will still cry foul play even after recount.

i hope so, this could really have damning implications on our chances of forming govt in Punjab.

This election has been a BIG win for minorities, something not being talked about for some reason ... Three Hindu candidates elected on PPP tickets, one Kalash man from PTI elected on a minority seat, and two Hazaras from HDP winning in Quetta!

So PML-N are now taking a much softer stance on their rigging claims, and Shahbaz clearly separated himself from the other parties at the APC, and made it clear that he won't boycott the NA. Ayaz Sadiq suggested he would not attend to swear the new MNAs in, but Shahbaz refuted him then and there, and said PML-N have no intention of derailing the electoral and parliamentary process.

The only parties that are still crying are JUI-F, JI, PKMAP, ANP, and PSP. Farooq Sattar, surprisingly, also turned up to the APC, but Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui says he went on his own accord without consulting with the party.

Shahbaz Sharif says "these people lost their seats, and have personal issues with the results rather than genuine concerns, and he has no intention of joining them to further their own personal agendas."

News is that PTI are planning to abolish Ministry of Information, and make PTV, Radio Pakistan, PEMRA, APP autonomous bodies.

Wait a minute Shabbir Ali Qureshi was our own PTI candidate and we preferred Khar over him? WTH man  There are so many Ind candidates who were actually from PTI and gone Ind after not getting ticket and still won.

Pitafi also didn't get the ticket in DG Khan because PTI had to fulfill 5% women quota as instructed by ECP

So more PTI got more votes in Punjab than PMLN.

PTI 11.1 million
PMLN 10.5 million

Ahaa so from 7.8 million in 2013 to around 17 million in 2018 that's an achievement  Have you noted PPP and Independents had almost same number of votes in 2013 as well 6.9 and 6 million.

Roshan werent too far off with their prediction.

Final Official figures:

PTI secures 115 Seats Of National Assembly and a total of 16.8 Million (One Crore 68 Lakh Votes)

Roshan werent too far off with their prediction.

Yea they even predicted 31% IIRC

This was their final opinion poll, almost a week before election day. Margin for error was +/- 2%, so each and every prediction they made was absolutely correct. Well done to them! Now we know who to trust :)

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday released the complete preliminary results, more than 56 hours after the conclusion of voting for the 11th General Elections in the country.

According to the figures provided by the ECP, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as the largest political party in the country, winning 115 of the 270 National Assembly seats on which the elections were held. The PML-N, which completed its government's tenure in May, has this time won 64 seats, while the PPP is in third place with 43 seats to its name.

Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), an alliance of multiple religious parties, has managed to win only 12 seats, whereas Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has garnered just six seats.

PML-Q and the newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) have won four seats each, while Sindh-based Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) has won only two.

Akhtar Mengal's resurgent Balochistan National Party (BNP) has bagged three berths for itself in the lower house of the parliament, while Awami National Party's (ANP) tally stands at just one.

Awami Muslim League (AML), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaniyat and Jamhoori Wattan Party (JWP) have also grabbed an NA seat each.

Twelve independent candidates have also triumphed in their constituencies and are likely to play an important role in formation of the federal government.

Recounts on at least five NA seats, however, mean that the final result may differ from the count released by the commission today.

Elections on two NA seats were also postponed by the ECP and will likely be held with the by-elections on seats vacated by leaders who have won more than one seats.

PML-N, which has ruled Punjab for two consecutive tenures, has again emerged as the largest party in the province again, winning 129 of the 295 provincial assembly seats on which elections were held on July 25.

However, the party is not certain to form the government as the PTI is close behind with 123 seats and, with the help of independents (28), can bring its own chief minister.

PML-Q has emerged as the third largest party in the province with seven seats while the PPP has won six. Jamshed Dasti's Pakistan Awami Raj has won a seat and so has the BAP.

The PPP is in need of no coalition partners in Sindh Assembly to form the government as it has won 76 seats in the house of 130. The numbers have led the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to announce Murad Ali Shah will again occupy the top slot in the province.

PTI has edged past MQM-P in the province with 23 seats to the latter's 16, primarily on the back of its performance in Karachi.

GDA, which had aimed to break the PPP's monopoly in the province, has won only 11 seats in the provincial assembly.

Khadim Rizvi-led Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), which had entered electoral politics for the first time in general elections after rising to fame around last year's Faizabad dharna, has also grabbed two berths for itself in the province, while the MMA ahs managed only one.

Interestingly, no independent candidate has won a seat in SIndh.

PTI has surprised political observers with its performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where it has won 66 seats of a total of 97 on which the elections were held.

The MMA is a distant second with only 10 seats while ANP's tally has also been reduced to six.

The PPP has won four seats in the provincial assembly while six independents have also won.

The BAP has emerged as the largest party in Balochistan with 15 provincial assembly seats, with MMA in the second place with nine.

Who will eventually form the government in Balochistan is unclear as the BNP, BNP-Awami, Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) have won six, three and two seats respectively while PTI has won four.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai's Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has managed only a single seat with its former ally PML-N also winning only one.

Shahzain Bugti's JWP has won a single seat while five independent candidates have also won in the province.

The ECP had attributed the delay in counting of ballot papers to a technical fault in the Result Transmission System (RTS) — a software used to relay results from presiding officers to the commission.

The counting process has faced severe criticism from almost all political parties with calls for recounts and then a demand for re-election by a multiparty conference yesterday, attended by the PML-N, MMA, PkMAP, ANP and others.

Foreign observers have also called for the commission to improve the process of counting ballot papers.

KARACHI: With only six seats in the National Assembly, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan is inching closer to forge a coalition with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf which lacks a simple majority in the lower house of parliament, it emerged on Friday.

The MQM-P, which only a day before had rejected the election results, also chose not to side with the parties complaining of massive rigging in the general elections. The party’s announcement that it was not attending the multi-party conference convened by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad is being seen as an attempt to appease the establishment and keep its door open for negotiations with the PTI.

Once estranged parties, the MQM and PTI had developed a working relationship in September last year when PTI’s senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi made an attempt to replace then leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah. The two parties also supported each other’s candidates in the July 25 elections in various constituencies in the interior of Sindh.

Although the PTI has emerged as the single-largest party in the National Assembly with 115 seats, it still requires 22 more votes to get a simple majority. Even if all 13 independents join the PTI, the party still needs nine more MNAs.

Against this backdrop, PTI chief Imran Khan’s point man Jahangir Tareen telephoned MQM-P convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Friday to pave the way for future negotiations on forming a coalition at the Centre.

MQM-P spokesperson Aminul Haque told Dawn that Mr Tareen congratulated Dr Siddiqui on his party’s success in the election.

He said both sides accepted each other’s mandate and agreed on having a meeting soon. Mr Haque said nothing had been decided about formation of a future government.

But sources said the MQM-P was ready to support the PTI at the Centre but wanted Imran Khan to visit its Bahadurabad headquarters to seek its support. Besides, it wanted a package for Karachi and Hyderabad and funds and powers for the local bodies in the two cities.

In the past, the MQM-P had extended unconditional support to former prime ministers Yousuf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Also on Friday, cracks reappeared in the MQM-P when senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar, who lost Wednesday’s election to PTI candidates from two NA seats, attended the multi-party conference in Islamabad against the decision of the party’s coordination committee.

MQM-P leader Faisal Subzwari took to social media to say that Dr Sattar had attended the MPC because he was not immediately contacted. “Everyone knows about our reservations on election results. We are fighting our case and keep fighting. However, right now we have decided not to attend the all-party conference,” he tweeted.

The MQM-P had sent Dr Sattar and senior leader Kanwar Naveed Jameel to Islamabad to attend the MPC.

The sources said that Kanwar Naveed did not attend the MPC on the instructions of the party, but Dr Sattar went to the venue.

Until last month, Dr Sattar headed the PIB group, while Kanwar Naveed was part of the Bahadurabad group of the MQM-P.

The sources said that all candidates of Dr Sattar’s group had lost the election and the four MQM-P candidates who won seats in Karachi were actually the nominees of the Bahadurabad group.

Well, the that destroys PML-N's "let us form government first, we won from Punjab" narrative even more than it already was :))

lol yea even in NA seats there isn't a big difference in Punjab.

PTI 60, PMLN 61, PPP 6, PMLQ 4, AML 1, Ind 7. (postponed on 2 seats)

So in the end only 7 Ind candidates from Punjab? call it saazish :))

Give them Faisal Vawda and see the city rise

He is a great guy. There are plenty of PTI MNAs and MPAs from Karachi who I am confident will do a great job, and will make Karachi rise again.

I am honestly glad that we won this 15 seats from Karachi rather than 15 electable seats from Punjab. These 15 MNAs and 20 odd MPAs from Karachi will be good for PTI and Pakistan in the long term. The electables in Punjab are opprutunitists who will leave PTI as soon as they see the winds changing direction.

Wasnt he seen as a problem in Karachi?

I always thought he is also part of Selfie Group of Karachi but he changed my mind with his hard hitting campaign alone against Shahbaz Sharif in NA249 he was given one of the toughest challenge but he won the hear of people there raising every issue they were facing he built school and dispensary for people there without even holding any power and in the end won against Shobaz.

Wasnt he seen as a problem in Karachi?

He is part of the leadership group in Karachi, and the leadership group is despised mainly because of the likes of Imran Ismail, and Firdous Naqvi. People used to just include Faisal Vawda with this lot.

After this campaign though, I think Faisal Vawda has a fairly good reputation now.

Yea he really impressed me with his campaign.

Not only that he really wants to do well for KHI. Yesterday he offered Showbaz his seat and told him that he does not need a seat to do work for the constituency.

Hopefully IK recognizes the most talented people. He has his Wasim's Inzi's in politics as well.

Amir Muqam wasn't holding any position at National or KP level but he received federal funds for projects in KP so i guess there will be a way?

It would be amazing if they can manage to send funds directly to Karachi. Also, doesn't PTI want to strengthen local governments and mayors? Will he be able to do that for Karachi while sitting in federal government, or will it have to go through Sindh government?

Faisal Vawda, Arif Alvi, Arsalan Taj Ghumman, and Khurram Sherzaman are really "talented" and hard working people from Karachi. A lot of the MPAs and MNAs coming through are young and new, and I'm really interested to see what they achieve over the next 5 years. Interesting times for Karachi!!!

7 Ind MPAs from South Punjab to meet IK and join PTI today. Syed Fakhar Imam who won his NA seat as Ind against PTI's Hiraj is also expected to meet Khan and join. He is ex NA speaker and opposition leader.

In case of local government i think funds will go through Sindh govt.
