That is just one of many factors. I don't think the majority of MQM supporters still support Altaf.

I think, the reason MQM lost was:

1.) They had no chance to rig or threaten people anymore. Last time, almost every single person I knew who wanted to PTI ended up coming out of the polling station after stamping a kite because an MQM worker threathen to shoot them. Then, on one seat, a family I know managed to stamp on the bat, a family of four. When the results came out, PTI had a grand total of 2 votes or something.

2.) MQM splits damaged their votebank.

3.) They did not campaign much this time as many of their workers are in jail due to the crackdown on militancy.

4.) Increased turnout from the silent population who never vote because they think it's useless with the presence of MQM.

5.) Altaf's boycott call may have lost them a few voters, but not much. Most MQM supporters stopped supporting Altaf Hussain after his anti-Pakistan and pro-India comments.

6.) PTI wave flipped some MQM supporters who have a soft spot for PTI.

7.) Due to MQM militancy gone, all parties campaigned in Karachi with absolute freedom.

Need to deduct 6 from PTI so it’s 264 and PTI needs to 133 with 109 votes from PTI for Imran to become PM.

PPP showing it is the more mature party as opposed to PML-N, MMA, etc. Questioning the electoral process is understandable, and I think even many PTI candidates were raising some questions. The other parties are just mad at losing more than anything else.

Yup, you've got it right, not sure how many double seats were won by other parties though? I can't think of any since Shahbaz and Bilawal lost all their other seats.

PPP outperformed expectations. The only loss is Lyari, and they also expected a seat in Balochistan. But that was made up for by their strong show in Muzaffargarh, Bilawal's campaign and jalsa there changed things completely! That area was almost fully going to PTI otherwise.

I think if they see that they won't form Punjab Governement, Hamza will keep his NA seat. I don't think Shahbaz will be CM Punjab now, he will probably take up the position of leader of opposition.

Massive rise in stock exchange and rupee rate already in last 3 days. There shouldn't be a rise in oil prices for next 3 months at least.

Syed Fakhar Imam is a well qualified, educated and an experienced politician but his rival Raza Hayat Hiraj is also a valuable politician. Raza Hayat lost but i think his brother won from other NA seat so it might annoy other PTI MNA and Hiraj family.

The plans are there. Desalination plants, rubbish collection system, and electricity generation using rubbish. I just hope they can find a way to implement it all without being in Sindh Government.

PTI NEED to campaign hard for LB elections. The biggest issue will be getting PTI supporters to turn up and vote. From what I see, PTI relies on a wave like 2013 and this election, and PTI supporters tend to go missing in between, as observed in 2015 LB elections.

Iran Congratulates Pakistan on Successful Holding of Elections

In a statement released late on Friday, Qassemi hailed the high turnout in the parliamentary elections in Pakistan and expressed the hope that the bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries would further expand.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran, as ever, is ready to make efforts to boost all-out cooperation between the two Muslim and friendly countries, especially in the new era, in line with the interests of the two great nations of Iran and Pakistan,” Qassemi said.

The general elections were held in Pakistan on July 25, to elect the members of the 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies.

The former Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan and his party Tehreek-e-Insaf won the country’s parliamentary elections, promising a new Pakistan following a vote that was marred by allegations of fraud and militant violence.

Khan, who aspires to be the country’s next prime minister, said in a televised address to the nation that “thanks to God, we won and we were successful”.
